good morning ladies

I am new to this thread and hoping I can join everyone. You can see from my signature that I'm going for IVF#2. I am currently waiting for and then will get my bw and us and start on the BCPs. is due this Saturday but I'm not sure if my body will be normal after all it has been through. I am planning on starting stims the first week of October on or about the 2nd or 3rd, and we are sticking to the same protocol, Lupron, Gonal-F and Menopur, I don't know what kind of protocol it is, I've heard people mention antagonist, but I don't know what that means.

I guess I'm the "old chick" not giving up yet!!!!!!

8kitts, !! Go Old Chick!!! (kidding). I know of several women in their early 40's who got pregnant with their own eggs- so keep on trying! The process isn't all that awful, and the possibility is worth it!

So, I found out I am now on a regular protocol. I guess the flare is that they don't suppress with lupron prior to cycling. This is what i've done every single past cycle and now I am reading that some of the best offices refuse to do a flare cycle b/c it can cause a decrease in egg quality and throw off your uterine lining...well, darn! So, hopefully I am successful on this cycle. Though I am on a relatively low dose again (much higher than the last few cycles but still low). I will be doing 150 Gonal F and 75 menopur...?

Anyway, Hi everyone! I can't wait to be cycling and yelling good luck to all the ERs and ETs, isn't it late September yet????

Just heard, I am pregnant! When my RE called with the results it took me a minute to understand what she was telling me. My beta is 1,238 so there is no mistaking that I have a bun in the oven.

I'm so glad for this forum. Otherwise who could I tell? Beta #2 is on 8/27 so here's hoping everything continues to go well.

Nese, thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate it, and she's 43! I wonder if she used her own eggs? I'm going to look her up after I post, that's great news!!!!
I see you are doing acupuncture, I really think it would help but it is soooo expensive, I haven't started yet. I am taking the RJ though.

Hi Rana, that's great encouraging news also, do you know if she used her own eggs? Hopefully you will be able to be preggie together. She used the accupuncture too, do you know how often, was it once per week, it is so costly.

Hi Yogagrrl, thanks for all of the info and the welcome.
Does it mean if I'm using Lupron, it is flare protocol, not antagonist?
That is sooo nice that you know many girls my age that had babies w/their own eggs because that is the only way for me, I hope so much that it works this next time before I hit 43 in January. It looks like you and I will be only a couple of weeks apart!

She used her own eggs, she made 5, 4 fertilized with ICSI she transferred all 4. 3 day transfer and her doc used glue and put her on steroids. She did acupuncture once a week for two months and the day of transfer!!!

Nese, I just noticed you are a Houston girl too! Where in Houston are you? We are in Kingwood. Who is your RE? We were with Allon, and are either switching to CORM or Houston IVF. We had our CORM consultation on Saturday and consult with Houston IVF on Wednesday.

8kitts (sherry)! I saw you're from NY -who is your RE? We went Dr. Sher at SIRM. And my friend (and dh) who are 40+ succeeded on the their 6th ivf w/ Sher. Anyway, good luck!!

I am also a NKOTB fan. I went to their concert in atlanta when i was in 9th grade! It would fun to get the girls together and go now!

I went to a new accp today. I had a great experience. I'm going to stick w/ this one. She really took time to discuss my needs. We talked about diet and she said no dairy, no cold drinks, and mostly fish and lots of veggies etc and she's big on brown rice. She says start w/ that for now and then we talk next week. I guess I'll finish up my cheese tonght!!

Hi Lizzie! I am in Kingwood, too!!! Oakhurst to be exact. We are using Dr. Chauhan at Infertility Specialists of Houston. They are located next to the Women's hospital. We are trying one more cycle with them and if it's unsuccessfuly we are going to change to Dr. Timothy Hickman's office. (I can't think of their practice name, but they have a 50% success rate).

What a small, small, world! We are in the back of Kingwood, down Northpark, so not all that far away at all. We are consulting with Houston IVF (Hickman) this Wednesday. Yes, their success rate really looks to be the best in the area and they are affiliated with CCRM, which is top in the nation. I spoke at length to the patient coordinator today and she was wonderful. The cost is soooo much higher than anywhere else, but I think it's worth it for us at this point. PM me if you want to talk more about the REs in the area or about Kingwood and being neighbors. How nice to meet another Kingwood girl!

to all the newbies, i can't wait to go thru this all with you and we are going to make some beautiful summer mamas!!!

ladies make sure that you update the list so we know what is going on, i know it is early but once those shots start things fly by.

wow, it seems like there is a lot of us October girls that are looking at possibly new doctors if things don't work out. i am actually going to another doctor to have a second opinion on why i am have RPL - i am confident in my doctor with the IVF stuff but he is a single doctor and my previous doctor works at a hospital and does research so i am going for a consult at the end of the month. because as of right now there has yet to be one reason why i can't get pregnant or why i can't keep them
