IVF in October, anyone? - Page 7

Hi ladies, I'd like to join your list for October IUIs. I'm having another IUI this month but we have an IVF consult scheduled for 9/2. If I have to do injectibles, I will go straight for the IVF.

Thanks Wantbaby07! There is so many more things to understand with IVF - I'm counting the days until my dr appt - I hope he explains everything in more detail so I can hopefully have something to offer on this forum!

Is a protocol basically the mix of meds you will be taking?

Alisa,

Yes protocol is a mix of meds. BCPs, stims, HCG trigger, antibiotics, progestorone supp or in oil. Protocol depends upon RE and the individual patient.

Hello ladies,

I would like to join this group for my upcoming IVF#2 and last.

I have already had a failed fresh cycle and a failed FET so this is our final attempt with a fresh cycle. I have been taking time off to get my body stronger and back on track.

In preparation I have been taking RJ doing acp. twice a week and a multi vitamin. I have also been working out, doing yoga and Pilate's.....I will do anything to get my self ready. My husband too has been taking vitamins.

Hi Alisa, I'm happy to see your name too!

The whole IVF process is foreign and scary to me. I asked DH if he'd be comfortable giving me the injections and he actually thinks I should go to the clinic each day and let them do it! I said we weren't going to pay extra and the nurse would show him how! Poor guy. A little too sensitive for his own good sometimes.

Since we are going in for our consult on about day 1 of my Sept cycle, do you think October is a fair estimate of when they'll do the IVF? I want to get our meds through IVFmeds.com because of the savings. What are your thoughts?

Glad to see the October List! It seems so far away but it will be here before we all know it! Can someone change my ET to FET? It's kind of the same thing but just thought it will give us FET'ers hope when I get my BFP

Hi Krista! I'm happy to see you on this side too (though I am definitely

you get your + with your upcoming IUI!)

IVF is scary for me too...though I thought the same with IUI's before we started those! Which is why I am here pestering all these fine ladies until my next appt! I've learned so much and it always helps having cycle buddies going through it too. Makes the loneliness of IVF go away - not too many who aren't going through it or who know someone going through it really understand....

Did you tell DH about how high gas prices are! LOL! DH at first said the same - about having someone doing them. But I think I can do it myself - have you done injectibles before? I did IUI's with injectibles and the needles are so fine and the same I hear with the IVF meds (some are even the same meds) just a few more meds.

I think October is a fair timeframe...I'm going in on cycle day 21 and should be about the same time as you to start IVF and I haven't been told that that timeframe won't work - we'll both see after our appts!

Hi Alisa,

the clinic is only about 12 miles from home so gas prices aren't much of a deterant. He's just going to have to face the music. After all if I can get the shots and do everything else for 9 whole months the LEAST he can do is give me the shots!

I'm kind of worried the DR might want us to do injectibles with IUI before we proceed to IVF, but I am SO tired of waiting...

My BFF is PG and she called yesterday and told me that she and her DH had decided that this is our monthbecause we want to raise the babies together.

I need to get on the ball here!

Hi girls!

Krista and Alisa -- You guys will be fine. There is so much support here. I did my first IVF in apr/may 08 and i was terrified! And I did NOT know about this forum at the time....I do not know how I got through it! Anyway, we all here for each other. IVF #2 has been a breeze! I do understand the worries ...I have horrible anxiety!

So my md said start BCP when AF comes (looks like that may be tomorrow) -- I'm like, hormones again??? Gimme a break!! Well hell I had 11 days with NO drugs! Ha!

Krista ... The shot's are not that big of a deal after doing them a few day's. You just get through it

I never dreamed in a million year's my DH would be able to give them to me, he's get's weird about watching DR.90210.
When we started IVF, we had an injection teaching, where DH had to give me a practice IM shot in the behind.
Will they help guide you through the shot ?

Thanks for so much support ladies! Yes, we'll get training so he'll know how to do the shots. He's just squeemish and doesn't want to hurt me.

Where does everyone get their drugs? (wow does that sound funny!) I was looking at IVFmeds.com. Has anyone else used them? they are located in London (where all my extended family live btw) so it's not like a 3rd world country or anything... thoughts?

Hi ladies! I so hope I don't have to take BCP...is that a definite? I get horribly moody and sick on them - I tell DH I married him just so I could get off them! LOL!

Oh yeah - which meds are IM? My friend just did her first IVF and I think she did all hers in the belly...

Krista - I get my meds at village pharmacy...I am lucky enough to have state mandated health insurance so I have to get them through there. Thats also the reason why I had to do at least 3 cycles of medicated injectible IUI before moving onto IVF - but I also though the IUI would have worked....Sorry I can't be more help.

you to our group! I'm sorry hear about your previous cycles. Are you going to the same RE? Any changes to your protocol?

I just completed IVF #2 but am waiting on genetic test results on my 4 snowbabies and then will do FET in October!

?? Got

today and have to to start BCP today -- is that normal to take BCP until FET since it's 2 months away?
