?? Got today and have to to start BCP today -- is that normal to take BCP until FET since it's 2 months away?

Hi Lisa,

thank you for the warm welcome. I am going with the same RE, I had a three transfer package. So three is the charm. I believe we are doing the same protocol but adding Heparin. Doc thinks I have an implantation issue.

Every doctor has a different way of doing FET.. I think they are doing that for you scheduling.
When I did my FET my doctor did not give me BCP but E2V shots every three days. I think those are my least favorite. I felt like it is was very unnatural.

Alisa, most of the IVF shots are sub cont apart from the progesterone and estrogen. I did mine in the side of the thighs (you now where all the fat is)
I felt there was less bruising.

Thanks rana! for the info...now I have something new to stress about! LOL! I have the pharmacy book that came with my last meds - it details all the IVF meds in there - I"m going home tonight and study all those! I think I'm ok with the belly shots - nervous about any place else but probably because I've never done them anywhere else...

Really, do not worry! The needles are so small and you do not feel them. I think it is easier when you do them yourself.

I tried to give myself an injection and just couldnt do it. I sat there for about 20 minutes just staring at the needle. DH did all of mine.
I think had I HAD to do it, I could have. It's just a mental thing. I'm sure after getting that first needle in, it's a breeze !

krista,
i ordered my meds through freedom pharmacy. they specialize in fertility meds (if not only those). they deliver next day and you can pick when. i can't say the price didn't totally hurt my feeling! wow! with insurance not covering fertility it's definitely a hit. i just keep telling myself the outcome is all worth it!
good luck!

ypho - you might try looking in the "Pregnancy Loss" category and posting your question in the miscarriage threads. Some doctors will test for chromosomes, autoimmune, and/or clotting problems. I'm so sorry you are going through this. I hope you can find some answers.

Hi ladies,
funny we were talking about shots this week. for the first time I'm not having my HCG shot in the clinic. Instead DH gets to give it to me at midnight. I guess we'll know how he does sooner than expected!

Also, my RE left me a VM that she definately wants us to look at "next steps" (read IVF) for my next cycle. Funny that she didn't notice that we already have the consultation scheduled.

At least if this month doesn't work I know we're ready to move on.

Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone is doing well! I haven't been around much because this has been quite the week. I've had SO many patients to see! Then I took Friday off so DH and I could celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. Tonight we're hanging with friends and the fun begins all over tomorrow.

About the needles, there's nothing to it. Some of the meds burn though. That was the worst part to me.

What do you guys do make sure you stay relaxed? I work too much but need to focus on this. I try to walk with my DH a few times a week but that's not enough. I don't want my stress level to screw up this cycle. Gotta run, hope everyone has a fantastic week!

Hi ladies,
I hope you're all good. I had my 3rd IUI today... if you want to read about the ugly deetails I posted it over on the IUI board.

Long story short is that we learned that I have an extremely long, tight and twisty cirvix and that my 1st 2 IUIs may not have been placed correctly! Now we are thinking we may try 2 more IUIs in Sept & October before we move to IUI... but first we'll get through the dreaded 2ww.

5 follies & 11 mill motile swimmers...

Newbie!

Hi Everyone,

I hope you don't mind me adding on to your cycle buddy thread! My wife and I are starting our first IVF in September, with ER the first week of October. I am sure my wife will be on here too with a bunch of questions! Its so nice for me to read all of your tips and things you all experience....I think it will definitely help me support my wife better, which is the main reason I am here.

We have our first major consult (trial transfer, etc) on the 29th of August. However, our nurse has already sent us the list of drugs, and oh boy, that list is a beast! Brittany (my wife) and I just keep saying, "One day at a time". We are hoping to participate in a shared risk program, so my wife has her Day 3 tests today.

Thanks for all of your support! You all sound like wonderful women, and I will be praying that you will all be Mothers by next summer!

I'm almost positive we will change for an October IVF. My AF came and this puts me for a ET around Sep. 29 and that's the same week as my tests. It won't be wise to do it in Sep. Well this means more time with my RJ/BP and also more time to make my body healthy. I need to think positive and
