What's a good size Follie for ER?
Hi Ladies, I am expected to go to ER on Friday or Saturday. I was told at my US today to continue to take my meds and let my Follies grow a little more. I have 12 Follies so far. 6 on each side. They range from 8-17MM. I have a few 14's, a couple 16's and some 8's & 9's. I have to go back in for another ultrasound tomorrow morning. I thought today would've been my last US. Anbody know what size they generally like to see?

I would have to look at my records to give you my exact sizes with my follicles, but i can tell you what i remember. I went in and they had to extend me another 5 days because my follicles were slow-growers. At my last ultrasound before retrieval I had about 10 follicles greater than 18 and two 17's. My RE looks at the size being greater than 18 as well as the estrogen level. We had hoped to get 12 eggs at retrieval, but only 7 were mature. Although that is a low number, 6 fertilized with ICSI. They definately want you to have more than 4 large follicles.

I think they want them around 20 or close to it.

EDD - 3/6/09

Anything above 17 is good for the final ultrasound before the trigger,becuase the hcg trigger makes them more mature.Some 15mm also may contain mature eggs,but it depends.

Our RE wanted to see them somewhere between 20 -25. I think anything over that is considered too mature.
