I know a lot of you ladies have taken Royal Jelly. I havent actually gone to the store and looked for it yet but I plan to. Can you buy this at any pharmacy ? Is this pills or chewable's ? Also, How often do you take them ?

This drug is supposed to help the egg quality ? I figured it can't hurt to take. Any additional advise with improving egg quality ?

I bought it online at the Vitamin Shoppe. It was a bit expensive. I know most people sware by it, but for me, I took if for 4 days and got violently ill. I vomited for 2 days and called off work for 3. It has LOTS of antigens in it (from the honey), and I'm pretty sure I had an intestinal allergic reaction to it. I pitched the whole bottle and you couldn't pay me to take it again....I was sooooo sick. It was horrible. I haven't heard of anyone else having this kind of reaction though so don't let me freak you out.

Oh my ! Did you take regular pills or chewable's ? I saw on the VitaminShoppe website they had chewable's.

I hope I don't have that same reaction ...

I took Royal Jelly in honey. It was a jar of goop and I was supposed to take a teaspoon full once a day (not in anything). It was sweet, tasted ok although not great. I don't know about the pills. Its most likely that the allergic reaction I had was to the honey component and I'm not sure if that was of any benefit.

Hmm ... I wonder if it's all just in liquid type's. Are you able to handle regular honey ? I've never had reaction to that.

Kelli - I ordered my from the vitamin shop on-line too. I actually just got it today and tried it- it is not bad at all. There is a whole thread on it that is very interesting. I think if you just take small amounts in the begining, you can see if you have any bad reactions, before upping the "dosage". I will do anything right now to help my eggies.

I bought the same stuff as BottleBrunette at the local Vitamin Shoppe. I think you're supposed to take it twice a day between meals, but I haven't been very good about taking it. I don't care for the taste and plug my nose while I swallow it followed by a big glass of water.

I'm taking a brand I bought from GNC but now that I compare it to the Vitamin Shoppe it doesn't contain the Bee Pollen. I just ordered a bottle.

The GNC brand is made by Y.S. Organic Bee Farms in Honey. I've gotten use to the test over time. I started off with just one teaspoon a day but recently upped it to 2x a day. I heard that was the best way to take it in Jelly forn versus pill.

I'll be going in for my CD3 testing in approx 2 weeks so hopefully I'll see an improvement.

Sorry to hear about your BFN Kellie. I don't post alot and tend to lurk but wanted to know I was cheering you on as I have seen may women get BFP even after getting a - HPT.

I took a teaspoon in the morning and evening. It was a regular teaspoon from your silverware drawer...then just took a scoop. I kept the jar on the counter next to the sink so I couldn't miss it and didn't forget to take it.

A couple people have had reactions to it...and all have been different. So, I would start with ordering one bottle and take 1/2 teaspoon to start off so you can see if you notice anything strange. Good luck!

I've been taking it now for a little over a month...the first bottle I bought from vitamin shoppe and it was just like a teaspoon of dense honey, which I followed with a glass of water (not bad at all) THEN I bought a bottle (same darn stuff) from a local place, opened it, and almost gagged at the smell- I returned it to the store and they said it was fine...so I exchanged for a new bottle and it was just as bad, but I continued on that until I reordered from vitamin shoppe! So, I don't know why there was such a discrepancy...they were the exact same thing (only had different fresh dates on them) but one made me gag when I ate it, the other, not so bad...just something to consider. I haven't noticed anything weird at all...take 1 tsp 2x a day...haven't told the RE, just because most of them don't believe in this stuff, but I doubt it hurts anything...

I started taking it this month - got it at Whole Foods for about $24 for a big jar of the "goopey" stuff. Mine is made by Y.S. Organic Bee Farms is "Super Ultimate Strength" and contains Royal Jelly, Bee Pollen and Propolis. I have gotten more used to the taste over time - tastes like bitter honey - and am taking 2 tsp daily between meals with a little water to wash it down (they say no more than 2 Tbsp. on the bottle)

I've read some posts that say that you need to be taking it for 3 months for it to have an effect as eggs take 3 months to mature. I'm scheduled for IVF in August (start my meds 8/2) and I figure it can't hurt. I'm willing to try anything...

Like Yogagirl, I never got over the taste. I took the kind mixed with honey and it tasted rancid to me. My theory is that our taste buds are different. Some women enjoy the taste, and others never get over the gagging. It does get easier to take it, over time.
