OK...who's waiting for a bean count??

The July 2WW thread is officially too long for me to keep up with and its now well into August so I thought I'd regroup. Who amongst us is in the "positive beta, but waiting for an Ultrasound" phase? Seems like the rest of you are getting your ultrasounds much sooner than I am. They won't do it till I'm 7.5 weeks. Which in reality I guess I'm glad because I don't just want to see a fetal pole or sac....I want to be far enough along to see a heartbeat and get an accurate measurement so I can relax, but the wait is killing me, and I'm jealous of all you with earlier dates.

Anyhow, my bean count isn't until Aug 15. Who else out there is in this limbo with me???

Hey Lyn, my bean count is Aug. 11. I know how you feel, I had to wait for my beta longer than most of the girls. I will have my bean count when I'm 6 weeks 4 days though. I can't wait to see it! I am so anxious and I wish that I could relax. I keep trying to tell myself that everything is going to be ok, but I'm also worried. I guess it's normal, but then I feel bad because I know I shouldn't stress so much. Anyway, I thought I'd be immune to the worrying before u/s, but I guess I'm not! How are you feeling?

Well I had an early beancount and saw what might have been fetal poles. However, i saw and extra sac (looked like it) that the doctor doing the scan did not. I now have to wait for a second to see if twins or triplets. I am trying to decide if I want to switch my appt to Mon or Tues rather than Wed. I have to be in that city (30miles away) twice this week. So, it would be more convienent to do it or am i just justifying?? UGH!!

So are you guys still taking your baby aspirin every day? I wasn't told to stop so I'm still doing it. I did switch from a multivitamin to a prenatal. Actually I switched to a prenatal and a DHA supplement. I had never heard about all this DHA stuff until I started reading and I'm a little shocked how clueless I was and that no one told me what kind of vitamins to be taking.

I am still taking my asprin. I was told to stay on it and the estrogen I am taking. Of course as well as the progesterone. I've been taking a prenatal since we started talking about IVF. It's funny, I was thinking the other night. I was so bad about taking my multi-vitamin before all this, but you better believe I remember to take everything I have to now.

Well...I had some spotting/bleeding last night. It was bright red blood on the toilet paper...just one wipe but enough to completely freak me out (not just pink and mucousy). It quickly ended and there is nothing today. I already talked to my RE and they said it is very common with IVF women in first trimester which calmed me down slightly (but not much). THey also said its very possible I had more than one implant and one of the embryos may not be making it. They think with my high betas the odds are in my favor that its nothing but I'm going for a fourth beta today just for reassurance. THey thought an ultrasound this early wouldn't really tell anything and I agree. So hopefully my beta is still rising and hopefully there is no more bleeding. I don't understand why this can't be more simple and why it has to be so stressful. I'm just a mess today. ugh...

I'm sorry Lyn! I'm sure everything is fine though. Didn't you already have a fourth beta? Is this your fifth? Try to relax (I'm one to talk).

Yes this is a fifth. Its 39,140 today. I have no idea what that means. Its a slowed rate of rise....don't know what it should be at this point. If it were to have kept doubling it should have been 50,000. My nurse was not concerned and said these things plateau. From what I've read...its a bit early for a plateau. I'm waiting for a call from my RE this afternoon to see how concerned he is. There is certainly a possibility that there were two and one is not doing well hence the not so great number today. I really just don't know and I'm totally miserable. At least my beta didn't drop but it really wasn't as high as I had expected. Now I wish I hadn't gotten it.

Hang in there Lyn. I know it's hard to not stress and worry. I had bleeding 2 mornings in a row the week of my 1st Beta's and it freaked me out. I must've went to the bathroom a million times those few days just to check for blood. It's so nerveracking. Would your RE do another Beta if you requested it?

Lyn, I haven't spotted, but I kind of know how you feel. When I got my first couple of betas, I was so happy with the numbers. Now, I'm overanalyzing them since they were done later than everyone else's (18dpr) but weren't as high as a lot of girls when they had betas 18 days past. I'm sure your number is great. Let us know what the RE says!

I still have two more BETA's to go, but I have read that each woman's BETA is different and that if you compare yours with someone else's you are going to stress yourself for no reason. I also read that BETA's just need to increase, they don't necessarily have to double.

So, everyone hang in there and just enjoy being !!!
