How many Blasts did you transfer?
Hi Ladies and Gents - Just meet with RE today. This will be my 3rd IVF and the first time we have discussed Blasts. I am excited I see so many success stories with blasts. I was wondering for the people that transfered Blasts how many did you transfer, Did you get a
 and if so what was your bean count? Sorry so many questions. I get the feeling that if we have any that make it to day 5 she will push for us to transfer 1 I would like 2. My husband of course wants 1 as well. Isn't that always the way . Thanks for sharing  Samantha

We transferred two and got twins.
If you don't mind twins I say go for two, but it's of course a personal decision. Good luck!

I would say just be prepared for as many as you decide to transfer to make it - unless you are okay with selective reduction. My first IVF cycle we transferred 2 blasts and had a chemical pregnancy, the second time around we had much fewer so we were advised to do a 3-day transfer and decided to transfer 2 and both worked! Our Re will do 2 on us due to my age. I am a little concerned thinking about twins, but I'm more afraid of it not working at all so I will take whatever I can get!

Me: 33. all tests normal Hubs: 30, all tests normal "unexplained infertility" TTC: 4 years IVF#1 8/18/08 Start Lupron - 10 units (so far so good!) 8/27/08  arrived8/29/08 - baseline u/s and bloodwork scheduled Estrogen is high at 85. Told to continue lupron and go back on 9/3 for 2nd baseline. 9/3/08- Estrogen higher at 96. Told to continue same protocol and come back 9/8/08 for 3rd baseline. grr 9/8/08 Estrogen still higher at 110. RE beginning menopur anyway. 225 IU am and pm. Luron continuing at 10 units a day. 9/11/08- ovaries and follicles looking good. Estrogen 283 - progesterone 1.1 - LH 0.8 9/13/08- 7 follies between 10-14mm. Estrogen 763 - Prog - 1.0 - LH 0.7 9/16/08 - Trigger tonight! ER 9/18/08 5 eggs retreived 9/19/08- 4 made it to the 2PN stage 9/20/08 - 2 are 4 cell and 2 are 5 cell - keep growing!! 9/21/08 - ET 2 embabies at 8 cells. None made it to freeze Follow up us & bw - 9/27 Beta - 10/5 #36.9 Beta- 10/7 #28 -

we did two the first cycle - got a single and we transfered three, one being an early blast - and still only got a single. good luck

Thanks for the responses . We have always transfered 2 3d. I just feel 2 gives us a better chance. My DH is afraid of twins. I
we have enough to transfer 3d or 5d. Just curious. Thanks again.Samantha

It is definately a personal decision, but I say transfer 2..after all the $ for this then I would want to get my worth.

FYI - we transferred two blasts and got triplets, so you never know.

We transfered 2 5 day blasts and got twins. This cycle i am transfering 3 (hopefully).DH thinks 2 is good but i want more chances of at least 1 taking

Gavin and Chase will be here this fall. C-Section scheduled for 10/22/08!!

I called and spoke to my nurse. If Blast looks good she advises to put 1 back. But final decision will be that day. I hope to work on my DH until then Thanks again. Samantha

We transferred one great blast and one good looking morula, which is the stage right before the blast stage. That one was falling a little behind. I was expecting only the blast to take, but both took and my gestational carrier is now pregnant with twins. So if you do transfer two, don't be surprised if both take. If you wouldn't mind twins, go for it.

Two heartbeats both at 123bpm!! 2nd ultrasound 8wks2days-GREAT-172 & 176bpm 12 wk ultrasound-Baby A-sleeping sucking thumb-170bpm. Baby B-jumping around 180bpm  17 wk Level II Ultrasound-BOY & GIRL!! Tests came back, the babies have 1/10,000 chance of chromosome problems. YAY Mommy of TWO in 2009!!!!
