It has been such an emotional roller coaster ride this week. As I had said in a previous post, we were very doubtful going into the ER with only one follicle. It took 4 flushes to get an egg from that follie but lo and behold if there wasn't a smaller follie that had appeared since my u/s and we were able to get a second egg that was deemed "borderline mature". Well the fertilization report following my ER was that egg #1 did not fertilize. and they ICSI'd egg #2 but it had shown no signs of fertilization as of yesterday morning. We were basically out of the game but they asked us to stick around for one more day to see how #2 progressed if at all (we are 8 hours away from home doing this procedure). So, we set up our following app't with our RE for yesterday afternoon and talked ED. Two hours after our app't we got a call from the embryologist saying that egg #2 had fertilized!! It has been so emotional I could puke. So the report this morning was that the egg still had not started dividing but it had shown signs of progress since yesterday. And it was looking normal and healthy. And now we just got another call saying it was showing early signs of dividing. We are going ahead with an ET tomorrow at 2:00 pm. Once again...this is a long shot (but so was getting an egg at all) but I will continue to pray and cross all crossables that we have a decent egg to transfer tomorrow. The next 2 weeks will be the longest 2 weeks of my life!

One of my eggs was also a slow developer. Given very little chance of implanting but, I believe in the Underdog. I believe that egg came back for a reason and so did yours.

I haven't posted since I had my miscarriage, but I wanted to tell you don't give up hope! I only had 4 eggs retrieved during ER and only 1 fertilized. I had pretty much given up hope but when I went in for my transfer the RE told me that it was a perfect 8 cell embie. I did end up pregnant but miscarried at 6 weeks. It was the most emotional rollercoaster that I have ever been on. I will be praying for your one little embie!!!

There won't be a transfer today. The egg stopped dividing and looked abnormal this morning (4 nuclei instead of only 2???). So we're going home. Thank you so much for your T&Ps.
