Does anyone have Atena HMO???

I switched jobs last month and now I'm at a huge company and from what I hear, have some of the best benefits around. Well i signed up for the Atena HMO b/c unlike the other plans it didn't have a percentage that was covered for IV (like only 80% cover for 3 IVF cycle), but rather just a lifetime max of 100k. so i called Atena yesterday trying to figure out how much is covered and what I will be required to pay out of pocket and nobody could help me and I was transferred over and over.…GRRRRRR

So my question is does anybody, that has Atena HMO or know about the plan, know what was paid for each IVF cycle? Any knowledge on this would be helpful. Thanks

I had aetna for my first cycle and I am sure that they have different plans but for me it only covered 7500 of the ivf not including prescriptions but I had separate prescription coverage that covered 2500 of meds. I think the 7500 was lifetime for me but shortly after that cycle I got BCBS so not sure if it was the lifetime max.

I have Aetna, but there are sooo many diff plans. Mine does not cover IVF at all. All my diagnostics were covered though. Big deal right!

They need to tell you because the company you work for picks what is covered and what is not.

we have it also, but it is the pos II. I think b/c our state requires ivf coverage they cover it. Aetna's plan actually covers only IUI, then the seperate coverage by the company actually takes over the ivf. I get two ivf's covered and complete medication

I live in Texas and its mandated here. But when I was looking over which plan to chose (choice plus, HMO etc) all it said under HMO was 6 iui, 3 ivf cycles with lifetime max of 100k. So when I called yesterday the person said I didn't have to pay anthing out of pocket (which seems to good to be true). I'm also covered under dh as a secondary. I just want to know what to expect, you know. Thanks ladies

It does depend on the Company you work for. But, I had Aetna EPO and only paid my $25 co-pay each visit. It had a $10k lifetime cap though so it paid for 3 retrievals and I paid out of pocket for my FET.

my aetna is a 15K life max right now and i just hit my first big bump with it. im supposed to be starting my meds in about another week or so and had thought all my meds came thru as medical so when my RE faxed my drug order thru to them i got a phone call on friday saying the medical doesnt pick it up until my prescription denies it. this just started friday so i still dont know what my solution will be as of yet but of course ill be on the phone asap tomorrow to figure out what the heck is going on. i recommend you finding out this info asap even though we must have different policies because we all know how insurance companies love to give us the run around until we give up the fight and pay ourselves!!

also with aetna and another thing to look into is you probably have to be enrolled in their infertility program if you arent already.
