Start of IVF
Hi Ladies,
I went to the RE this week and he said my dh and I will have to go the route of IVf with ICSI in order to concieve. I am on day 5 of my cycle and am starting with the clomid challange. Does anyone have any experiences with side effects? I previously was on 50 mg and was dizzy and had a little blurry vision...hope this 100 does not make those side effects worse...any thoughts?

I did Femura instead of Clomid. Might be an option for you if you haven't started yet and had a bad experience with Clomid. Only side effect for me was hunger and heat flashes. I can live with that.

I did several cycles of clomid before moving on to IVF. My main side effect was hot flashes. I had some moodiness, but neither of the side effects you're describing. Blurry vision and dizziness can also be indicators of low blood sugar, so I'd suggest making sure you eat something containing protein every couple hours while on the clomid to keep your blood sugar levels stable. Hopefully that will help.

I've done 5 mos of Clomid 100mg. My side effects have been mood swings, mood swings and more mood swings. Poor DH.
 Also had some hot flashes.It's really not so bad. I knew to expect the mood swings so I could laugh them off some.

Me: 36 DH: 39 TTC since 1/07 10/07-1/08: Clomid 2/08-4/08: Found RE, testing etc 5/08-8/08: 3 IUIs- All IVF #1: Nov '08 9/5- start BCPs 10/2- 2 large cysts found- Cycle canceled for the month 10/27 Cyst gone! 11/9- ER- 9 retrieved-4 fertilized - they "forgot" to ICSI?! 11/12- 3 day transfer of 2 Embabies- 7 & 8 cell both w/ less than 5% fragmentation 11/24- BETA  Taking a break. Don't know what we'll do next.... 2 furbabies:  Tia Grommit

Maternal and Paternal karyotype normal. No explanation for M/C.Clomid Cycles May 2008, June 2008 FSH/IUI Cycle July 2008. Cancelled due to too many mature follicles (7). 1st IVF cycle September 2008. BCP, Lupron, Gonal-F and Menopur. 2nd IVF cycle planned for February 2009
