I really like the following books:

Your Pregnancy week by week
Amazon.com: Your Pregnancy Week by Week, 6th Edition (Your Pregnancy Series): Glade B. Curtis, Judith Schuler: Books

The Pregnancy Book (a month by month guide)
Amazon.com: The Pregnancy Book: Month-by-Month, Everything You Need to Know From America's Baby Experts: Martha Sears, William, Linda Hughey Holt: Books

I personally can't stand the What to Expect book...I think it's boring and doesn't provide as much detail as the other books. My OB actually gave me The Pregnancy Book...she said they give those to new Mom's because the What to Expect tends to worry or scare women. Some women swear by it, but I just don't like it or the layout of it....I'm just glad my SIL gave it to me and I didn't buy it

I like the Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy. I haven't really looked at much else except What to Expect and I didn't really like that one.

I have What to Expect and The Week by Week book. I like them both for different reasons. The week by week gives an overview of what's happening with you and the baby and the What to Expect is the book I use when something weird happens. Like when I was vomiting up blood or thought I was leaking amniotic fluid -sorry for the TMI. It gives a run down of all the things that could go wrong and when you should call your doctor or go to the ER. It does scare some people, but I like to have it to refer to if something does happen. I also have one called the Pregnancy Journal Amazon.com: The Pregnancy Journal; A Day-To-Day Guide to a Healthy and Happy Pregnancy: A. Christine Harris: Books
It tells you day by day what is happening to the baby and you. It is really cool. I love reading it every night to find out what is happening with the baby.

I like the week by week, but I loved one I did not buy. It had actual clay or something pictures of each weeks stage and it was beautifully done. Even if you don't buy it I think it is great!!!

I love "week by week "as well and I also use "The Pregnancy Bible" as a reference type book. Those are my faves. "The girlfriends guide to pregnancy" is a funny read and also "belly laughs"

I enjoy reading "Your Pregnancy Week by Week" - written by physicians. It is extremely helpful and documents the development weekly, not monthly like some other books.

I cannot stand the "What to Expect" book and woudn't recommend it to anyone.
