Hi, I'm starting stims tomorrow, and was wondering what kind of side effects to look forward too? I'll continue to take lupron, and will start menopur and follisim. I've probably spelled these meds wrong. I'm a horrible speller. Thanks so much! Becky.

i really didnt have any, but the only thing that happened was i bruised really bad wit the menopur and it stung alot.. i always iced my belly before that shot

I didn't really have many problems with it either. Are you going to combine them into one shot? that made it much easier and I also added a little bit extra saline which helped with the burning. Good luck!!

Well..the follistim came in a pen, and I have to mix the menopur so I don't think I will combine them.

That's ok, my follistim was in a pen too. what you do is mix the menopur with the amount of saline the doctor tells you too. Then, you inject the follistim dosage into the same vial with the mixed menopur. Then you can draw it all up in one syringe. I had to do my shots twice a day and if I hadn't combined them, I would have had to do at least 4 to 6 shots a day without mixing them. Makes it a LOT easier on you too!

Ice the spot before you inject the Menopur for a few minutes, just off and on as you can tolerate the cold! It makes all the difference. I just gave myself the 3 shots each night - it's not too bad after awhile. And, I had my
DH mix the Menopur each night for me. It gave him a chance to be involved and feel like he was helping me.

I didn't have problems with the injections. I did find the menopur to sting a little so I would put a heating pad on it. Worked great! I wouldn't say I had any symptoms until my ovaries started getting big!

I iced the area before the Menopur shot, it did help. Also after I mixed the Menopur I let it sit about 10 minutes to make sure it all dissolved. Not really a big deal after you do it a few times. Good luck!

I added Follistim to my menopur and injected it all at once too but letting the menopur sit for 10 minutes before injecting really helps with the stinging. No side effects for me - just sore ovaries near the end. Good luck!
