I am wondering for those of you who got a lot of immature eggs during your IVF cycles, do you ovulate regularly on day 14 and have 28 day cycles (non-medicated)?

Both IVFs I have had so many immature eggs and I truly believe that this is linked to my strange cycles when not on meds....I don't ovulate until Day 22 and get my period on Day 42. Therefore, my eggs take a LONG time to mature/my estrogen doesn't rise like it should. And this would explain why my eggs were so immature during IVFs and why my estrogen was never as high as it should of been for the # of eggs produced.

Does any of this make sense and does anyone fit in this category with me?

My acupuncturist seems to think that herbs can help regulate my cycle and get it back on track, hence ovulating earlier and having my estrogen be at the level it should be at, at the right time in my cycle.

I am the same way. Read my signature, my 1st IVF I had only 3 mature eggs and of those none made it to ET. I do not Ovulate regular either! Infact clomid at 150mg didnt even make me Ovulate. I do not have a period either. Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing. It looks like your 2nd IVF has gone so much better with a lot more matures. What was your estrogen and how big were your follicles when they triggered?

What does your RE say about your not ovulating and no periods? That sounds very PCOS like...

I do ovulate each month and get my period each month, but it's always 22 days and 42 days. So my eggs are poor quality bc my ovulation is so off...

It has been that way my ENTIRE life! I am SUPER thin, have been tested for EVERYTHING, it is just my genetics! So with my fat index comp. he says that is why I am not having a period, and hence why I do not ovulate.

Yes, this cycle is MUCH better. I was pretty much just happy to make it to ET. I was so scraed I was going to have an egg issue this time again. My biggest before trigger was 23 or 24mm they said. Which I think that egg is actually inside of me right now! I think that was the best one for ET.

They upped my meds this last time, and I stim longer. Also did BCP when last time I didnt have to because I just came off an IUI cycle. So I think that may have helped also. I never asked for any of my blood draw #, but I wish I had.

Do you know how many days of stims you did? I kept asking my RE to stim me longer bc I knew my eggs would be immature again, but my RE wouldn'. They were worried bc my progesterone was rising, which means I was getting closer to ovulation and my eggs could have been overlymature (No way of that!)

I wondered actually for me if the trigger of 5K iu was too low and also whether they triggered me too soon. I've done some research on the internet about immature eggs, but haven't really found anything definitive. I am very interested in this topic, so please let me know if you make any discoveries...

In your case, it really does sound like they triggered too early and only 5,000 units instead of 10,000 sounds low. But, I'm not an RE here! he he

And I know it's tricky bc they have to make sure your estrogen is just right and that your progesterone doesn't rise too much too quickly, which can cause post mature eggs/ovulation.

I think my case is a little different since I ovulate so late, it's takes forever for my eggs to mature! ugh!

This last time it was the 9th thru the 20th, so 11 days.

With your thyroid cond have they tested you for auto immune? My moms side of the family this runs really deep, and they wanted to make sure I didnt have anything wrong with my thyroid before beginning IVF, my RE said it is a completly different ball game for those who have thyroid disorders.
