Jen- It sounds like your beta is fine- it's supposed to increase 60% in 2 days- right? The whole doubling thing seems far from an exact science to me!
Fefochka- my US is the same day as yours! I am SOOO nervous. It is crazy that a lot of us have had blighted ovum. Did any of you gals with blighted ovums have any beta probs or were they normal? What time is your appt? Mine is at 9 with the prenatal visit right after.
Bits- blighted ovum is when you get a fetal sac that keeps growing but the fetus stops growing early on so you don't usually see a heartbeat. My understanding (other gals correct me if I'm wrong) is that since the sac (or placenta) keeps growing and producing hormones, that it is often a missed miscarriage where you don't get any bleeding, still feel symptoms, and a lot of times you need a d&c to remove. But you shouldn't worry about getting a blighted ovum any more than you would worry about any m/c- I think it is just a subclass.
Cobiker-my symptoms have been SOOO off and on. Today I feel nothing- yesterday my bbs were really heavy and sore. My one constant is my bloat- I have a little belly that I know is just from the hormones! Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones with few symptoms! Hey aren't you the one who posted the thread about the E2 levels- pretty cool.

Suz
- so you have your "scheduled beta" tomorrow huh? How are you feeling?

AFM- I actually went to the gym for a little while today. I did ellipitcal and kept my heartrate at 130- which was hard since I am used to running or spinning! I have been feeling SOO bloated and lethargic, so it made me feel pretty good.

Zappy, my u/s is at 3:45. I wish it was early in the morning so I could just wake up, go to the clinic and be done with it.

Cobiker, I have very few very little symptoms (are they even symptoms?) Slight heaviness in the lower abdomen and my bbs are a bit sore. I also feel very sleepy but I think it's because I am exhausted by the stress of IVF.

I am actually surprised I am having mine so soon. My 1st Beta was 8 days later than Zappy's and yet we have an u/s on the same day. Strange, huh?

Today

I am worried about everything today too! I came home at lunch and was putting a pot in the dishwasher... and then I got a sharp pain in my abdomen. And then it turned into cramping all afternoon.... so needless to say, I freaked out all afternoon.

I do still go in tomorrow for my real pregnancy test day! I am praying so hard, that my number just keeps going up and up. So scary. I still don't feel pregnant!

They said they would do an ultrasound next week on me too. But that we would not see heartbeats yet.

I will let you guys know tomorrow how it goes!

Hey everyone- thanks for the welcome.

Yes, I'm a science geek and found the E2 levels equation. Still amazed at how some of the numbers turned out.

In my blighted ovum, my hCG levels increased normally, up to 4200 at first u/s (conceived naturally), but nothing grew in the gestational sac. My levels did not drop on its own, so I had a D&C. Remember that the placenta secretes hCG, not the baby.

Just more things to worry about.. Trying not to stress and what ever happens, we have no control and we've done as best as we can at this time.

Suz: so sorry for the stress. I have been feeling cramps ever since I got my first beta....feels like AF is about to rear her ugly head. Nothing sharp, but from the 2ww club it seems that is also common.....

Sam: I am half nerd (dad is a software engineer) and DH is an electrical engineer/designer...so I appreciate your tendancies...care to share the beta equation? I am just as curious.... it made be feel better hearing about the odds..... Thanks!

I am TIRED...took a good nap this afternoon....see you all tomorrow.

Carolina- thanks for the well wishes! How are you feeling at 10wks? I hope I make it that far!

Jen- nap sounds sooo good- and it is only 9:44 AM

Fefochka- last time I got a BFP, my first US was scheduled at 5w6days. This time it is 6w5 days. Must be a scheduling thing at my clinic. The due date thread is under forums-after fertility treatments-due date buddies. There are Sept and Oct 2009 threads.

Cobiker- I am a science geek too! I am a postdoc in structural biology- what do you do?

Suz- good luck today! I am sure your cramps are just your little one(s) burrowing in deep! I get cramps off and on too- though I can never tell if they are from the little ones or the horrible constip.!

AFM- Feel like butt today for some reason- woke up with a headache and a nausea that kind of includes heartburn- yuk! That's what I get because yesterday I felt so good that I was telling my little one(s) that it was ok to give mommy symptoms because that's how she knows he/she is growing properly- guess they really heard me! Have a nice day ladies!

Anj- congrats on your BFP. It must be torture not to know your beta for so long! Are you at least somewhat distracted from thinking about it since you are traveling for work? Are you getting to do anything fun while traveling?

Hi Jencat- the thread I started was about E2 levels, not betas. It's entitled "show me your estrogen levels and I'll predict outcome"- check it out.

Hi Zappy- Wow, a fellow scientist! I'm working in a bunch of areas. We're starting a stem cell program with cord blood. We have a cord blood bank, about 6,000 cords and are actively collecting at 3 hospitals. I'm also doing some structural modeling with HLA molecules. We've developed a program to check for novel susceptible epitopes in immune diseases and then I model them. So far we've found a novel epitope for rhuemitoid arthritis. Then, I also study the effects of cigarette smoking on immunity. The pathway we study is the NF-kB family and I've been doing structural modeling with p50 and p65. Zappy where are you studying? I'm at University of Colorado Denver.

No symptoms.... sometimes I question whether I'm pregnant. Well, maybe I'm jinxing things and in 1 month I'll be miserable (but happy).

Have a good day.

Not today, no... its raining cats and dogs in Buenos Aires (altho it is nice and warm). My work finishes tomorrow and I take the night flight back to DC. But did spend last week exploring the city in the evenings with my DH who was with me at that time.

Feeling so jittery today... nervous about my beta. SCared of having phantom symptoms. When I was little, I hated a math teacher of mine, and I used to have real stomach pains (very psychosomatic!). Im feeling a little nauseaous now... causing im stressing out about nausea (I want it, you see, to prove Im preggo).

aaargh... im totally losing my mind. Im desperate to tell SOMEONE face to face that im pregnant... otherwise its not feeling real to me !! What shd I do...need a hug!
