Bits, I am so sorry about your scare I agree with Lagniappe, if it was a real scare, your dr. would have behaved differently. Hang in there

All I know is I am petrified and so sad I fear this is the end of my beautifal baby. What do I do and for those that unfortunetly been through this before what does this seem like to you? Please be honest. I for us all and that no one else has to go through this anxiety. Oh the ultrasound tech also said there was a shadow behind the sac and because it is so early it could be anythign from another sac, a shadow, or bleeding. Please for me, I knew I could not be so blessed that this would work on my 1st try

I am SO sorry about all of this. Of my support group from my previous IVF, we had 7 girls PG and 3 of them had bleeding, 2 spotted. (1 has had her baby and the other 4 are still PG, due this spring). It is SO common. I would trust your RE, it sounds like they are OK with it. Make sure to rest as much as you can (put up your feet) and keep hydrated. Lack of water can cause contractions.

Again...bleeding is really very normal and as long as your RE knows about it they can advise you on what you should be doing. I know its hard, but you need to trust your body right now....take good care of yourself. Praying for you and your baby!

BITS ~ first of all I am so sorry you are going through what you are going through, but Jencat is right, it does happen all the time and it could be normal. On the flip side of those of us who have gone through a MC, time goes by slower for those in fear ~ and the hard part is THERE IS NOTHING you can do, you just feel so sad and out of control.
I think it's too early for you to know what's happening and unforutnately you will have to wait, but it also could be the notion of the "vanishing twin", perhaps you had two in there and one baby is taking up their space! I hear about that on this forum all the time?

So guys, you know I have been fearful and hopeful ~ but on Wed. I took my first BETA and got a (BETA WAS 265), I didn't post because of past experience, I wanted to make sure we had a strong second BETA today (WHICH WAS 608).... So we are very happy, yet still optimistic, as I know all too well that first HB apt. is so vital to our next step.
BUT MY TSH levels are too high they are at 8.76 does anyone know how to get this down? Or know much about it at all, I know it's important for baby's brain development, so my levels need to be lower.

Those of you who haven't had your levels checked you should it's a simple blood test, that and pogest. are linked to MC's so I am very diligent in making sure they are checked every time.... I just don't know what to do about it now that I'm in the situation. My RE will be calling back to tell me....
I pray it goes down.

Congrats on all your 's and I am so excited, for you all, I have been reading all your posts and following along. I'm sorry it took me so long to get to the point where I can talk about it.

BITS ~ Feel free to PM me if you EVER NEED!

Dre- CONGRATULATIONS!!!! THose are some strong numbers! My TSH was a little high before my cycle, so they put me on the lowest dose of levoxyl. I should get mine re-checked since I think pregnancy hormones can affect it too.

Kennie- Gratz on your beta as well!

Jen- sorry you were spotting too. Goodness- IVF gives us so much to worry about.

I dont have experience in this, but a friend who went thru IVF, did have some bleeding... but it was fine. I would say.... followup closely with ur RE to make sure they know whats happening. Kendra and Dre- congrats on the great betas! They're textbook!

Dre- You're right, hypothyroidism can affect baby's neurological development (used to be called cretinism)- but, the good news is that it's a really easy fix! I'm sure your RE will put you on some form of thyroid replacement, one little pill a day, and make sure you're monitored through your pregnancy. I was Dx'd 7 years ago and couldn't believe how much better I felt once the meds started working their mojo! I take Armour which is a combination of T4 and T3. Curious, have you been tested for this before conceiving? Hypothyroidism can certainly affect fertility.

Let us know what your RE suggests.

Just a thought

Bits-

Are you, by chance, on progesterone? I've read it can aggravate the cervix and cause spotting-- especially with the suppositories.

Kendra and Dre, congrats on your fantastic Betas!

Our journey is so hard, only those ones who've been though IVF can understand... This forum is a blessing, don't know what I would do without it.

I we all have healthy HB very soon!

Oh, I forgot to mention :)

I am off the PIO shots! Yay! They've increased my suppositories to 3 a day but I don't care as long as I don't have to deal with evil needles anymore!

I haven't been spotting...but my boobs hurt! I was very lucky that I didn't spot last time.... but I did miscarry...so I know what it feels like to see that blood! It is AWFUL! I don't think my heart had ever beat that fast until then....

Best of luck to everyone..... I am glad we can be here to help each other through the scareymester!
