Am I the only one not on BCP's? Hmmm.....
Well the ball is rolling. Went in for my mock transfer today and it went fine. Got my bloodwork results back and I guess that came back good. My FSH was 5 and my RE said that was good. I'll take his word for it. The biggest thing was that I got my meds in the mail today. Holy moly! Kind of scary to be completely honest. I took an inventory to make sure I got everything and it was quite overwhelming...and the needles. Aye! I have to try not to think about that. Hopefully it's not as bad as it looks.

Maribeth,
I know the big box of meds can be daunting! But the shots, especially the little sub-q ones are really not bad at all. If you ice before hand you may not even feel a thing! I've been through this twice before so you can trust me. We're all in this together!

The whole world is pregnant!

Hi all, I went to get my Day 3 FSH yesterday and there were 4 pregnant women and 2 newborns in the waiting room! I cried all the way home. Even though I have no idea what any of their circumstances are, it sometimes feels like I am the only one who can't get pregnant! I am so glad I have you all!

Mabelina - I freaked when I got my meds too. There are only a few differnt meds, just a lot of them! And don't go thinking those mixing needles are for injections! What day do you start Lupron? I called yesterday to get progesterone suppositories instead of PIO as I almost passed out at my blood draw yesterday.

Thanks for the reassurance guys. So you're telling me those gigantic needles are for mixing and not to be jammed in my hiney? That makes me feel better. The only thing I could think of when I saw them was the needle they used when my dog got microchipped...that was a big needle. Anywho, I'm feeling a little better about it now.
Angie, sorry to hear about your visit surrounded by pregnant women and newborns. Definitely not what you need to see considering the reason for your visit. The first RE we went to see (when we were starting this process) had his office right across the hall from an OB/Gyn and both office fronts were all glass. DH and I sat there in the waiting room nervous as all get out waiting to be told we were infertile while watching numerous pregnant women walk into the other office. I remember wanting to run for the hills and a few tears were shed. Well that RE turned out to be a complete disappointment (whole other story)and luckily we didn't have to return. But I remember it vividly and can identify with that feeling.
I start Lupron on June 7.

RE: (child ment)

Hello everyone!

Aidan's mom...where will you be doing your ivf in indiana? I'm currently with bonavenura in indy and I LOVE him and his nurses (more so one than the other...she has actually been through IVF).

Yes...I got 2 boxes of meds delivered to my work and AAHHHH that was overwhelming! They filled the whole bottom drawer of my fridge. I don't have any intramuscular though (I'm on crinone)...but the idea of that many shots is overwhelming.

I started accupuncture yesterday. I go once a week until I start my gonal-f and then I'll go twice a week until transfer/retrieval week when I'll go three and then I'll slowly go back down to once a week. It was fine...didn't hurt...a bit relaxing.

I also started a yoga class with some friends yesterday. It was a good sore today. I plan on doing it full speed until I start the shots and then just not getting all worked up and sweaty and doing the 'easy' things. It's still very relaxing and they do some meditation at the end which I think will be good for me around ER/ET. Anyone else trying some new stress relievers. I just get so worked up in that 2ww!!! :-) I need something to calm me down!

:-)

Hey everybody!!

angie056 - I really thought I was the only one that feels like everyone around me is prego. And true, we don't know their situations but GEEZ LOUISE!! Does anyone watch 18 Kids and counting? Josh and Anna just got married a few episodes ago and they are already expecting!!! And then I found out that a young lady (late teens) at my church is pregnant. She started crying when she told me because this will be her 2nd. Her little girl is 3 and she lives at home with her dad. I had to give her the speech about babies being a blessing and how everything is going to be ok. And in my heart, I was wishing that it was me. Only the tears would be tears of joy and not tears of disappointment or sadness. And to make matters worse, my husband's cousin who got married in October are expecting their first (due in 2 weeks) and anytime I ever went around his family (his family is huge) for the past 4 1/2 years almost they would always ask us when are we going to make his mom a grandma and his granddad a great grandpa. But now his cousin is going to be the first to make grandpa a great grandpa. We have been married for almost 5 years and no babies to speak of. And then here these 2 come, have been married for 7 months and the baby is due in 2 weeks. UGGGGHHHHH!!! But soon and very soon, OUR TIME IS COMING!!! Whew, now that I have that off of my chest...

carseatfreak - I have my first acupuncture appointment on Saturday. I am a little nervous. I don't quite know what to expect but I am excited. I have heard that it is relaxing and it is beneficial when going through IVF. So why not? My husband always says that I will try anything.

kirstenlahti - September is not so bad. This time next year it will all be worth the wait.

cathie - How long do you have to wait to get the results of your bloodwork? Did he say how long they might have to postpone your cycle til?

Allij - It wasn't bad AT ALL. He just placed some needles in a line on my stomach and then down to my ovaries and I didn't really feely anything at all. Then I just rested for 20 minutes or so until they removed them! I'm up for anything too that may help...and has no risk. In the same day I started acupuncture and yoga! Good luck...you'll be fine!

I'm doing my ivf in Evansville with Dr. Gentry. I've had a couple of friends do IVF with him and we were really pleased with him at our consult.

My only question is about the mock transfer. My doctor didn't say anything about doing this? Should I ask about that? When do they usually do it? Is this a big deal?

hello

Hi ladies,
I just had a failed IVF in May and I am doing a FET in July so I thought I might join you if it is okay. I started a thread for July FET but no responses and I am getting impatient so I will hang out here. It seems like almost everyone on my may threads got pregnant so I am staying away from those boards for now. I am happy for them but you know how it is. I am nervous for my FET since the success rates are lower. Anyone else FET? Anyone in MO?

Smile good morning

Allijbutler - Thanks! I am actually really happy with Sept! It gives me a bit of a break to enjoy the summer with my DD and DH and go camping, have a beer if I want one, just relax! And it allows up to save up a bit more money...so that is good too. If this is what my doc thinks will give us the best chance - then the small wait is fine with me!

mabelina01 - the box of drugs can be a bit overwhelming. This is my second attempt at IVF and I have no problem with needles or any of the procedure stuff.... but I felt a bit like a drug dealer when it arrived - and I wondered where I was going to store it all. My doc told me only certain ones needed to go in the fridge - and the rest could be in a cool dark place, like a pantry or cupboard. That made it easier for me. Once you get through a few days of the mixing or injections or whatever you are doing - it becomes just a routine. I did it twice a day and it took me about 2 minutes to gather all my stuff, get it to the table, and then about 3-5 more minutes to mix and get the shot. Pretty easy really. For me it was so much easier to have the wastebasket right next to me - then I kept the mess and clutter at a minimum. I opened it, took the caps off, etc and three the stuff away instead of having it all lying around in a big mess mixed in with the stuff I needed. You will be fine! Good luck to you!

Me -38 - endo, myomectomy, unexplained IF
DH - 38 - normal everything ( relative to baby making!)

Have one beautiful daughter, Sienna Rain, 2.5 years old - conceived naturally

Our furbabies - 2 dogs and 5 cats

TTC since 12/06 (basically 3 months after Sienna born)
Tried Clomid cycles - early spring and summer 08
Tried Clomid / Gonal F cycle Nov 08
Waited to take more action until after 1/09 because of starting new insurance plan

Me - bariatric surgery 01, lapro surgeries for endo - 5 of them, myomectomy, csection, tummy tuck, and obstructed bowel 3-08 - so a lot of opening to my abdominal cavity - I am very prone to adhesions - so doc thinks (without proving it = surgery) the baby parts could be out of alignment and eggs are never meeting the sperm normally. AND... my left ovary is situated in such a way that they may or may not be able to get the eggs out of it during and IVF cycle. If it is not big enough (swelled with eggs) there could be risk of perforating a bowel.

So, IVF is our best option at this time to make sure the needed parts meet up and get where they need to be

Hi Ladies,

I just got my calendar for my second round of IVF. I start Lupron on 6/24 and stims on 7/8. Looks like ER will be sometime around the 18th or 19th, give or take a day. I look forward to cycling with all of you.

Good luck and may the sticky vibes be with us all!

Hey all- I just started BCP today- I will end up being on them for about 6 weeks b/c I can't start stimming until after some upcoming travel. So I should be stimming by July 10, and then retrieving towards the end of July.

I was on the March IVF thread and was pregnant for 12 weeks and lost my baby 2 weeks ago. DH today decided we are a go on trying again, so back on BCP. Just scheduled my 3d sonogram to make sure everything is out from the last pregnancy. Has anyone had one before? I can't take any OTC pain medications so my choices are (a) nothing or (b) narcotic pain relief- I tend to tough it out- but if it is going to be really awful, I will go for relief. Any experience with that?
