I was on the March IVF thread and was pregnant for 12 weeks and lost my baby 2 weeks ago. DH today decided we are a go on trying again, so back on BCP. Just scheduled my 3d sonogram to make sure everything is out from the last pregnancy. Has anyone had one before? I can't take any OTC pain medications so my choices are (a) nothing or (b) narcotic pain relief- I tend to tough it out- but if it is going to be really awful, I will go for relief. Any experience with that?
Hey Enci, I am so glad to hear that DH came around! And, we are pretty much on the same schedule too. With regard to your question, o wasn't sure what you were asking...is what painful?

Oh, in the end, we decided to do PGD again. From what I heard about CGH, there seemed to be a high loss rate with the freezing and some girls were finding out that their normal embies didn't make it to freeze while the abnormal ones were in the freezer. I want all my enbies to have a shot and given the cost and wait time, we decided PGD was best for us.

Good to see you again!

The 3 dimensional ultrasound of the uterus where they fill it with saline- I have heard it is painful, but I ear that a lot about things I don't find painful- so just wondering shat you all had experienced.

For me it was uncomfortable like a real bad cramp but not painful in the sharp pain sort of way if that makes any sense. It was just a bit uncomfortable but didnt take long at all and was over with. Not a big deal at all for me anyway... Hope it helps

Thanks! That helps a lot. I think I will just skip the pain relief then.

Maribeth--You made me laugh so hard with the "hiney" thing!
Aidan's Mom and Amanda--I am in Indiana too. We are with Dr. Henry.
Enci--I was in the March group too. Sorry to hear about your loss. This will be our time!

AFM--I am still on bcps from my lap. I need to call my RE's office and set up my calendar. Talking about the HUGE box of drugs...I enjoyed watching them dwindle down. It made me feel like I was making progress towards my goal.

Got my Calendar!

Just got off the phone with RE's nurse. She's going to order the rest of my meds (got some leftovers!) and I'm going in to sign consents and pick up my calendar today. My ER is going to be around the 13th...I think someone else had mentioned that date too? I'm not as nervous this time. I'm so glad this is happening in the summer, instead of during the school year. That was such a nightmare!

lilcbru - Thanks for the thought on watching the meds dwindle! I like that positive way of looking at it! I am thinking about ordering the refills on all my meds so I have them in case I need them. I don't want to worry at all about quantities during stim time! I figure what I can't use I will donate when I get my BFP

I am glad to hear more and more of us are getting our calendars! We will have to start one of those posts with all the dates at some point. We are getting closer!!

Oh yeah and what is everyone telling work about this process? I am really torn... I have a lot of flexibility, I work mostly from home, and I have some scheduled time off so I think I could get away without saying anything. The problem is that I am concerned that I will not be on my A game once I am thrown into menopause with the Lupron and sometimes I think I would rather have the boss know why. Am I just looking for things to worry about or what?

When I was going through my first cycle, I was in school (teacher) so I had to tell my Administrators and Instructional Assistants. I was tired and hormonal during meds, but I don't think it isn't something that couldn't be dealt with. I guess it really boils down to what you feel comfortable with.

AFM--Luckily, I won't have to deal with it during the summer.

Nice!! That should take a little stress out of your cycle! What do you teach? If only I could be a teacher as it is rewarding AND summers off!!........ I spent an hour tonight trying to teach DH math and I kept getting irritated as I don't get what he doesn't get. So I think it is safe to say I would make the worst teacher ever:-)

Hello everybody,

May I join you? Today I met with my RE and will be cycling this July. I am taking BCPs and will be ready to start on June 30st. ER will be around July 12-13. It has been a year since the last time we cycled and many things happened: I got pregnant, m/c, moved back to my home country.

Is anyone doing any additional treatments/therapies (i.e. accupuncture, royal jelly, etc)?

I trully hope that we are all successful in our attempt.
