Hello to everyone here. I finally know what our plan is for the next several weeks and am excited and anxious as this will be our first experience ever with IVF.

I started BCP on 30 May and will be on them for 21 days and then wait for my cycle to start.

25 June I start the stim phase
29 June checkup with bw and us
03 July checkup with bw and us.
07 July ER
10 July 3 day ET

We are doing ICSI. I am on the fence about the extra cost but if it ups the number of fertilized eggs then in the long run it will be worth it to get some frozen out of the cycle.

We talked about assisted hatching a little bit during our education meeting. The office will do it if they think it needs to be done. The cost is minimal and the nurse said it really ups the chances but I have not looked into it too much. Anyone know about it or have any experience? I asked if it upped the chances so dramatically why people would opt not to do it. Her answer was that some people objected to not letting nature follow course. Heck, nothing about this whole process is natural so why not help nature out just a little more??

I will try to read some of the older posts to catch up with you all and see where you are at in your cycles as well.

to all of you going through this with me.

Now, I'm very confident in my RE (he has a great reputation) but this freaks me out just a little. I don't think you're supposed to be aware of what's going on so I'm trying to figure out if these 2 people just didn't repond well to the meds that put ya under. I'm going to have to ask my RE about this the next time I go in. For those of you have gone through this before, does the ER generally hurt? I'll suck it up if it does but I'll admit it makes me a little nervous.

I had my ER at the end of Feb. I was out completely and don't remember a thing. I don't remember how I felt physically after, so that must be a good sign! I know it didn't hurt nearly as much as my laps have!

Well- I won't lie. Conscious sedation doesn't work on me, and it was pretty painful Not as bad as transition in labor. Not as bad as burns from a boiling water spill from my chest to my knees. But yet not pleasant. But for most people conscious sedation works beautifully and it is no problem. I was conscious during knee surgery, during egg retrieval and during part of shoulder surgery, so I am pretty confident that the drugs just don't work for me. Also, when I wake up from being knocked out I am fully awake and aware pretty much right away- so again- I am the outlying data point as always! So- by all means talk to your MD if you are concerned, but most people don't have a big problem. I was also pretty sore for a few days afterward, but I just laid low and took pain meds and watched movies.

Re. the low FSH and low antral count- you should probably consider an estrogen priming protocol. The doctors at the Sher institute have a paper on line about the protocol and will do a free consult and will work with your RE- just had my second free consult with Dr. Tortoriello today and he is sending my RE his protocol, and will email with him etc. They also have free forums online and the REs respond to questions there.

Hey Asher! What branch is your hubby in? I am in the Air Force and I have gone through the system to where we are finally ready to do our first IVF. Will you be in MD or in CA?

Talking Dates :)

So, I got my DATES and I am getting excited (but not over excited, I am very prepared for a , but we will see.) So I will have my retrieval on the 8th of July and I will have a 5 day transfer on the 13th of July (Thank goodness that the 13th is a Monday and not a Friday!)

Will anyone else have the same dates? I will be on bedrest for a mandatory 2 days, but I am taking a week off just to be safe, so I imagine I will be on here al lot then lol

Hi, I'd like to join your July group. I am 31 years old in Arizona. This will be my first time through IVF. I just got the news yesterday that I would be postponed until July (we were originally going to be in June). I just had a polyp removed from my uterus and my RE recommends moving it out a month for a more successful try.

Good luck to all of us!!

Hi Ladies! I'm hoping to join your thread. I am starting BC pills today to rid this cyst in my right ovary. This was due to overstim from injectibles last cycle.

Originally I was to wait for my next cycle to start stims and timed BD again, but after thinking it through and convincing my husband, I think it would be wise to do IVF. We already spent so much $$$ from the previous cycles, that if we had another failed injectible cycle with timed BD, it would cost as much as a cycle of IVF. (No insurance covered, at all!)

Plus, all the waiting, anticipation, stress and BPN has put a strain on our relationship and our happiness. I just want to get it over with and get ASAP and continue on with our lives like we've hoped for.

I'm looking at a retrieval and transfer around July 11-14.

Tygerlilly, I think we are almost on the same schedule!

Tygerlilly: So why did they push you back to July instead of June. It looks like you're ready to go in June if everything is in place. Also, waiting list? As for me, I won't start Lupron until June 19th (ideally).

My decision to do IVF was very spontaneous and I think I jumped in it too fast. But, I cannot wait any longer! This process is new to me and I don't really know much about it. I still haven't discuss the price yet, but I'm sure it won't scare me away. And I figured, if DH wants to buy another car for $12k, even though he already has a perfectly new car, why not do IVF if it will make us happy? I mean, a car will not make me happy but a baby will!

Keep me updated!

I am in the militray and unfortunatly I will not be able to do it in June b/c of military stuff. I was ready to go for June, but they will not give me the time off, so I have to wait until July now.

I'd wait on a new car for your BFP lol, you may need something bigger soon

Hi everyone, Ive been lurking here a little bit, wondering if I would join.... This looks like such a nice group of ladies, I thought maybe I finally would.

Ive been delaying because we're doing a FET, and since at my clinic the odds of success are lower, Ive been trying not to get my hopes up too high... but we all know that thats absoltley hopeless So, Im plunging in and committing, to optimism, and being connected to the fertility community yet again. (in my IVF last year, these threads totally got me through it.)

We have secondary unexplained, and are really hoping for some success this summer. we have three frozen blast.s and are thinking that if the thaw goes well, we will put in two. Its going to be a mostly natural cycle, with just the HCG trigger, and progesterone support.

Im not sure if they will give the trigger on day 17/18 when I normally ovulate, or if they will do it earlier, but either way, we're looking at the first week in July for the transfer, probably. and Im planning a full two days in bed after.

I hope you ladies don't mind me dropping in at such a late date. it looks like many of you are really almost at the jumping off point, so to speak. July is just moments away, really.

Yay another cycle buddy! You are on a similar cycle as me and missthuyn. Welcome!

When do you guys begin the injections? I start Micro Lupron on the 24th in the AM and PM, then I add menopur and follistim on the 29th.
