Er

You know, they put me under for the ER, but this is what I can say about it.:
I remember that the day of my retrieval, there were several ladies in the triage area, awaiting the same, in little curtain separated areas.
My clinic puts everyone out for the retrieval, and all of us were experiencing the same. Most of the rest of the people didn't feel much cramping after, and left after maybe an hour of monitoring. I could hear all of their convsations really well through the curtains, and was surprised and relieved to hear them saying they were mostly fine. Two wanted motrin, one, nothing.
My experience was differnt. I had alot of cramping. I wanted meds. big time. I was sore, and stayed a few hours. They said that people who feel alot of pain after that procedure are usually the same ones who experience the worst menstrual cramps. (totally me, I have a prescription for Vicodin)
Anyway, I was only sore for a few days, and then it was over.

For me, the hard part wasnt the ER, it was BEFORE the ER after all the stimming, having a puffy, sore, uncomfortable belly. It really did get uncomfortable. It was actually a relief to have them retrieved. Then again, that puffy feeling was just a shadow of what pregnancy to come would be like

the great thing about all these treatments and procedures is that they pass, and are over and done before you know it.

I will start Lupron on the 19th. And Gonal-f on the 29th! Almost the same. My schedule is not certain yet. But around those days. Good luck! Where are you stationed at? Where are you from? My husband was in the Navy, but not anymore.

Yay! Ive been looking for some buddies! This journey is so much easier to take with a couple of friends, than alone. I love these message boards.
well, I wish I had something to reprot, but we're doing a frozen cycle, and the protocall is mostly natural at my clinic for FETs. We are going to have the HCG trigger midcycle, and also the progesterone support afterwards.

Are you nervous about the injections?

Quick update on us..... we may have to push our IVF back until august... not sure yet.

I had my sonohystogram this week and they found a tiny polyp (3mmx5mm). But the RE wants it removed before we get started. So I'm having the surgery this week to remove it. After the RE sees the surgeon's report, then he'll decide whether to postpone our ivf for a month or not. We'll see.

I'm trying to stay calm and just take it in stride.

Cathie-I go to IVF Phoenix, my RE is Dr. Couvaras. Who is your RE?

Aidan'smom-I also just had a polyp removed and my RE told me that the chances of having twins would increase after having the surgery had we not have postponed me to July. I don't really remember the reasons but it was something about the uterus being kind of raw and that they embryos have more to stick to. Surgery wasn't bad at all but good luck!

Hi Tyg- Husband is NSW. I have been through several IUIs and was kicked out of my IVF cycle for poor resp to stims. Walter Reed is very strict and can't get very creative when there are challenges so I am meeting with Shady Grove- May switch if I feel like people are actually on my side. Tired of feeling like they all expect me to fail at WR. CAn't beat the price here but have to make some more tough decisions.

Bleeding on the Pill

Sweetpea--I am also a secondary infertility girl too.

Aidan's Mom--Sorry to hear you have to wait to start your cycle. Anything to have the best odds though!

AFM--I am so frustrated! I guess I will need to call my RE's office on Monday. During my last cycle, I had my period when I was on BCPs. They have me on a stronger pill this time, but I am having a light period now. I just don't get it! Has anyone else had this while on BCPs? Does it mean I am not supressed enough? Do you think it will hurt my odds on this cycle?

Welcome to the new joiners!!

Well, let the injections begin. I just gave myself my first Lupron shot. Piece of cake. I'm taking 20 units and really hoping for minimal side effects. We'll see how lucky I am with that.
How's everyone else doing?

aidensmom - Keep us posted on the surgery and how it turns out. I am sure that everything will work out for your good!

Enci - I am so glad to see you here on the July thread. I was following you on the March thread and I am praying that this is it for you!!!

Chuchu - I am doing acupuntcure. I have heard great things about it so I am hoping for the best.

Hey all- I did acupuncture last time and do plan to do it again. At my practice there is about a 70% pregnancy rate with the acupuncture- so it seems worth it.

I will be on a later schedule than some of you- I won't start my stims until the 7th at the earliest so I will likely be retrieving around the 20.

To all you just hopping in !!!! It is quite a journey and better to be in it with friends!
