AFM - Had my start visit today. I had the first good visit today than I have had in what seems like forever. For the first time I actually didn't have a cyst. Yeah! so we can move forward as planned.

Question I found out today that they may do a 3 day transfer or they may do a 5 day transfer. What are most of you doing?

My RE said he will decide if we are doing 3 day or 5 day the day after Retrieval... so at this point I don't know... it depends on how many embies I have and if they will survive the 5 day transfer... I am hoping for a 5 day but okay with 3 day... he will put 3 embies in if we do 3 day and 2 blast on a 5 day...

We start shots in a couple of days. Our doctors are a little out of whack right now. the nurse we were talking to for the first month is now gone and no one seemed to even know what was going on.
i have taken 1 too many birth control pills and we are not sure if all the meds were ordered and stuff. i am confused if this is a sign as too how this is going to go.

we have to go in tomorrow for teaching visit then we start shots thursday.
i am scared.
need some good prayers this time it will work out better than last time.

whew! It just took me an hour and a half to catch up today!

Well, my box of meds showed up and it really is intimidating! All of a sudden I forgot everything they told me and just stared at all of the boxes. But, I am ready to get this going.

As for some of the questions today...
We had to sign consent forms for what to do with our frozen embies if something happened to us. We agreed to donate if we didn't use them as I wouldn't feel right depriving someone else the joy of being a parent. I just hope that person is clear across the country and that my daughter (or other kids) don't fall for someone just like them...

4th of July - we are heading to the beach for the weekend.

I think the temp was around 82, but I went into work at 5am and left at 5pm. Last day of that...finally.

Ok, I am almost done the BCPs and start Lupron on Friday. I have an appointment on Thursday (7/9) for bw/us and then should start the Bravelle.

QOTD x 2: I will not POAS! I have not been using them at all. In my previous months of trying I was charting my BBT. When my temp dropped I knew was coming so I never needed to test. I cannot deal with the stress of testing-I agree with you funprof about having DH get the Beta results phone call. I will not be able to handle it!

As far as 4th of July plans, starting my stim meds! I'm going to stay local and eat lots of junk food at a few cookouts and try not to stress over all this stuff.
Mandy and luckyday-I got today too. Hooray! I have my baseline u/s and b/w on Friday morning and then start stimming either that night or the next day.

Funprof-My RE does day 3 and day 5 transfers depending on how things are looking. If on day 3, I have at least 4 top grade embryos, they will keep going to day 5 to see how many blasts develop. At my clinic, there is a 55% success rate with day 3 transfers but a 70% success rate with day 5 transfers. So I obviously I am hoping for day 5 but will not know until day 3. You have to be ready and available to go in for ET on both days.

Here is a question-how many embryos if everyone planning on transferring? My RE is recommending that if I transfer on Day 3, I transfer 2 and if I transfer on Day 5, I transfer 1. She says since I am young and this is our first IVF cycle we should start with one on day 5-not sure I love that idea.

So I just took my first shot of Lupron about an hour ago and the shot was not bad at all...didn't even feel it. i'm praying that i don't wake up with a headache and have had 8 glasses of water today in preperation! i'm so excited to finally get a move on with the meds. 12 more days and I can start the stims.

How fast do the side effects kick in? also, how long have/are you all scheduled to be on the lupron? does it continue with the stims? I sort of freaked out when I read "sudden weight gain" is a side effect, so i'm trying to figure out how long I have to suck it up and eat really healthy to avoid packing on the pounds!

Mandy, your list must be getting really busy lol! I know who I am going to if I forget my dates.

My clinic does 3 and 5 day transfers, if you have a 3 day transfer they will transfer 3 embryos, and on a day 5 transfer they will transfer 2 embryos. I am scheduled for a 5 day ET.

So I just bought "My Sister's Keeper" today for my bedrest. I also got a couple other books. I read pretty fast so I have 4 waiting for me. Tomorrow is my last day at work. I am off Thursday for my U/S, Friday is a Holiday and I took the week of the ER and ET off so that I can have extra time to take it easy.

I go back to work on the 20th and my first Beta will be on the 21st. I am SO excited....

SO, I am REALLY curious as to names... since we have all been waiting for this for SO long I know everyone has names picked out.

My husband and I have decided on Marjorie "Maggie" Anne for a little girl, after my mother who passed away in 1986. And for a boy we have decided to use both of our deceased grandfathers names for Thomas Henry.

AFM I was sick until around midnight when I finally got to bed... I have been up since 4:30 this morning... this will make for a long day.... I must have caught a bug... TMI ( lets just say I am not constipated anymore) and throwing up... bad bad stomach pains... thought it was the cyst at first but I don't think a cyst would cause diarrhea and vomiting. Other than that AF is in full flow (lovely AF on top of all this) I have another appt today... hoping they start me on stimming tonight... I will be back on to give all you ladies an update!!!! Hope you all have a good morning. The weekend is almost here!!!!

AFM - Tomato check went well. It looks like I have about 13 in play. My big.follie is 18 now but the others are growing as well so no cancellation! Doc said ER will almost certainly be on Sunday 7/5.
