Hey girls.

I am lying on the beach catching up on all of your posts on my blackberry! Wow, there is a lot going on!! So exciting to see some folks getting ready to trigger!

I like the idea of sitting to do shots. Lucky me, I can pinch an adequate little roll while standing. I do use an ice pack to numb the skin first, if you haven't tried it, I urge you to give it a go. After as little as a minute, you are quite numb and don't feel a thing.

I love reading all the name ideas! What a great QOTD. I am too superstitious to even let myself even daydream about such things. If this works, I will have plenty of time to come up with somthing and I just might steal a few ideas!

I also love the great transfer debate. My DH would put one in (he is scared to pieces about twins), I'd put 3 in since my age dictates that that would be appropriate and the chance of multiples ('specially at my age) really is low but we are doing PGD so the deciding factor will be how many normal embryos there are. Last cycle, we had 22 embryos but only one tested okay. That was devasting in and of itself. Now, I am a little more prepared. I am praying that we have 2 to transfer (at a minimum) but I also know that there is a possibility that there will be none. One step at a time, right? One step at a time.

Welcome to all our new folks...and do we have a dad on here? I saw a reference but missed the post! Guess I will have to stop starting my messages with "hi ladies"!

Good luck to everyone stimming, feel better to those that are under the weather and congrats to all who have seen AF. She is still a no show for me but at least I feel like she is coming! Oh and I did a little dance after my last Lupon shot this morning...bye bye you bada$$! I shall not miss you!

threelittlebirds-I'm so excited for you! You will have to report back to all of us and let us know how the ER went-good luck!

AFM-It is really hard for me to answer the baby name question. I see everyone posting names and I don't know....I guess I am still so afraid that it will not work for us that I am not letting myself get carried away with those thoughts. I am taking everything day by day and trying to only think about what is going on right now with all this stuff. For instance, we are trying to decide how many embryos to transfer. My clinic says that if you transfer 2 blasts on day 5 you will have a 50% chance of twins. I want the IVF to be successful but don't know if I could handle twins. The RE is kinda pressuring us to try for one-they like to see "singletons." We only want 2 kids and I know if we had twins we would be done. I kinda feel like I would be getting shortchanged out of the whole pregnancy experience by having both at the same time. But then again do I really want to go through this again for another "singleton?" Every day I change my mind as to if I want to try for (as my husband calls them) "Mr. Singleton" (one baby) or "Mr and Mrs. Singleton" (twins).

Sorry for the random thoughts-feeling emotional and stressed today-must be a side effect

I am reviewing How to Get Pregnant and came across the part where Dr. Silber discusses how to decide the number of embryos to transfer. He cites a Copenhagen study that looked at pregnancy rates for women when transferring embies of equal quality (it did not show age). Pregnancy rate was about 24% for 1, 40% for two, and 60% for 3. Dr. Silber goes on to say "if you are over 37, and embryo quality is not the best, it is wise to be aggressive in deciding how many to replace...for women forty or older, it makes very little sense to restrict the number of embryos" and "for women less than 37, if there are three or more excellent-quality embryos, then it is safer to transfer two embryos than three embryos, and certainly no more than three." That is for embryos of the same excellent quality. It changes if the embryos are of mixed quality. Thought that might give some insight/help with planning/insight further research.

Dr. Copenhagen... as in the Chewing Tobacco brand? Thats funny! Does anyone know about Estrodiol levels? I have been looking online but I cant find anything very helpful... just generalized information. No numbers as to where you should be at during a specific time in your cycle.

How many embryos?

We are going to have one or two put in, depending on the quality of the embryos, how many we have and how I respond to the stim meds.

At our clinic, the results are as follows: given my age (34), James and my fertility issues, we have a 30% chance of getting pregnant with one embryo transfer and a 50% chance of getting pregnant with two embryos transferred. Of the women at our clinic who have two embryos transferred 25% have twins.

We would prefer a singleton, but of course will be happy to have twins as a second choice!

Silly! Copenhagen, the city, not a doctor. Here is a link that might help with the levels. Hormone Levels & Fertility Bloodwork - Fertility Plus

Is anyone else taking Lupron throughout stim meds? I thougth I was only going to take it until this Thursday (which marks 2 weeks), but I looked at my calendar again and it says to keep taking it until retreival!! Is that normal?

Also, I panicked last night taking Gonal-f. It was my first time, and I hope I did it right. Just pull and push right? I didn't feel a thing, and its making me nervous that nothing shot out of it. LOL. And oh, the Luveris injection hurted!!

Jennifer - haven't heard from you in awhile and I was just about to post a where ya at! Polyp removal fun fun Its not too bad, its the anestesia that always gets me.

Justonemore - I am jealous you are at the beach!

Missthuyn - Yes it is normal to continue Lipron. Most RE's drop it to 5 units. Isn't two or three shots so much more fun than one!

Tygerlily - I looked up E2 earlier and found an earlier post with some good info. I can't link it now as I am on my blackberry but if you google normal E2 levels IVF you should get something. I am worried about mine too as it jumped... Let me know if you find anything good!

Threelittlebirds - Trigger yah!!! So awesome, can't wait to hear your report on Friday!!!!!

Thanks, Angie! So, I'm off schedule by a week, but as long as those polyps are benign we look forward to stim meds starting in 4 days and egg retrieval for July 17.

I could know I'm pregnant for sure by my 35th birthday, August 9.

Thanks Lilcbru, this was VERY helpful, and I am on track!

Judy, I am still on Lupron while stiming, and I am on it until the retrieval as well.

I am SUPER jealous of you girls! I have 5 injections a day! 3 in the AM and 2 in the PM.

I can only think about the upcoming ER and ET, and it is making it hard to focus on work lol.

Man on Man I have only been gone since 7:30am and there is alot to read through and catch up on ... you girls are busy!!!!

Tygerlilly- Since you won the name battle with DH what name did you choose? I had to laugh with your boobs hard as a rock... that soooo sucks that I didn't have that side effect... I would love to have boobs hard as a rock... **** the bad luck!!!!Oh and the Estrogen level question... the E2 rises as the follicles(tomatoes) grow... which a follicle reaches maturity the E2 level will reach 200... so if you have 5 mature follicles then your E2 level should be around 1000...

Mises- to the group so nice to see a gentleman on board and participating... I love it... Your wife is a lucky lady!!!! I will get her on the list with your name...

Lissett- I love Anabella and Isabella.. I am love old fashioned names...

Dee Dee -I asked my U/S tech what caused the cyst and she said it was the BCP... The cyst is holding up my cycle... aggravating... I think you do good by not going to school right now with everything on your plate... I mean moving, adoption, IVF...etc... it is alot... Stress and IVF don't mix to well so hopefully one less thing will help take off some of the burden...

Allijbutler- Your girl/boy names are sooo cute, I just love Naomi such an elegant name!!!

Missthuyn - Hey chick how is the stimming going? The lupron until Retrieval is very normal... it is a suppression drug that stops you from ovulating.. so you have to take it until trigger so the RE can time the retrieval so he can get the eggs before you ovulate... otherwise you will ovulate early and the cycle will be over...

Angie056- I am praying your eggs are okay!!!! I am sure they are.. that is why your RE is changing things up...

Chuchu - You are hilarious "BOARD MOTHER" Threelittlebirds called me that the other day... you girls are tooo funny... Hope AF shows to help relieve some of your moodiness... I know it has made me feel better... not sooo anxious and moody now... Thank GOd!!!!

Threelitllebirds- LMAO!!! that will have to be the new saying... instead of ovary and follicles we can call it a tomatoe... (our groups insider) oh and thanks for the heads up on our meds side effects...

Lilcbru- So glad to hear AF has come.... now you can get on with the cycle.....Hope you are feeling better too very soon... I am feeling alot better from last night

Jennifer&James- Great to see you back on the boards... Sorry to hear about your D&C... Hopefully now that the polps are gone your cycle can continue as planned!!!!

Justonemore- you are so lucky to stop lupron but on to the other meds... hopefully those don't have the side effects Lupron has... I hope you get plenty of good eggs and have some left over to freeze for another day!!!!

Tiffy - How are you doing since you started the Lupron... hope it is not to bad!!!

LauraRose - I totally understand how you feel about how many to transfer... I am okay with one and even 2 but scared of 3... However with you, your RE is giving you a 50% chance of having twins with 2 embryos but the other 50% is singleton right!!!! If you but one your chances are lower on conceiving... At least you have a shot at getting pregnant with 2 embies and its 50/50.. However it is your choice... I hope you are happy with the one you make... Good luck sweetie... we are all on a personal journey but sometimes hearing others imput helps us see things in a different light and helps make our decisions easier... I hope I helped...

AFM- I went today to the DR and been pushed back again... the cyst is shrinking but not enough... it is producing estrogen and progesterone and keeping my numbers elevated... So I go back in on Friday... Hopefully I will start then... Pray ladies this is getting frustrating and I am sooo ready to get this on the way!!!!

Mandy you crack me up! I won with Marjorie Anne (after my mother). And outside of that we cannot agree on any other names lol. Boy's are easy, girls are diffrent. I think I may look into a few other options (ie. Alexandria and others )

I'm sorry about the cyst...I hope it does not delay your IVF this time...I know the pain of waiting and I'd cry for you.
