My risk of baby with Trisomy 18 is 1 in 5,700.
For someone my age it should be 1 in 130, but the bllood work & ultrasound measurements allows doc to individualize stats. How cool!
For anyone reading tis who is over 35, my doc made it easy for me and said CVS and amnio were not recommended bec. these results were fantastic and risk of miscarriage from those procedures in too high, comparatively (1:300 for amnio & cvs). glad it was not a decision I had to make. I like when they think for me. Afterall, what am I paying him for? LOL
Very happy & it seems very real now. Telling my kids on Monday. No gender confirmation but I still say girl and either is a total blessing...

Love to all of you

GREAT!!!! I am so relieved for you. Sounds like you really like Wagner's office.

Oh, everything is fine, thats why they did an ultrasound. I wasnt worried because they were trying to use the dopplar on my hip bone lol. I dont think the babies would be there........ lol. Both are great. I have actually been feeling them move, Blip kicked and I felt that twinge in my cervix again so I have felt them for the last week!

Claudia: Great post about stress. I have been able to do a little walking - mostly at the grocery store and I went to buy another pair of maternity jeans. Hey, shopping is a stress-reliever!

Caty: Thanks for complimenting my baby girl's name.

Tygerlilly: Yay! Two baby boys. I like those names They are going to be so close! I think they fight less than sisters (they roughhouse then it's over).

Miraclebaby: I'm glad you like your OB. That's a lot of vitamins! She prescribed those based on blood levels? Weight loss... I wish I'd gotten more of that in before preggers... Feelin' huge right now.

AFM:
I feel pretty positive about baby girl's name (Beatrix), but then get feelings like it's an old lady name and doesn't sound as "cool" as I think it does. And I don't like Beatrice, it is mistaken for that since they are essentially the same name. James doesn't like Harper at all which was one I liked and I think Mirabel is too mediterranean sounding (for us). Oh well, I just want her to be able to pull off a mohawk if she wants to have one.
Funny thing - last night around 11PM I started craving this sandwich that my father used to make for himself. I got out of bed (James was still up watching football) and said I want a "Grandpa Bill" sandwich. James only knew my Dad for a few months, most of that time my Dad was very sick so he didn't know what it was - but it's toasted bread with cheddar cheese slices and tomatoes. That sandwich was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!

Oh - our ultrascreen numbers are risk of Down Syndrome 1:1,900 and risk of Trisomy 18 1:8,700

April - congrats on the two boys! Lots of testosterone in your future!!!! I like the names as well...very distinguished sounding : )

Jennifer - I was fine with my FM during my stay in L&D. My blood pressure was high and my DD was stuck, so that is why they did the c-section. I recovered very easily. I was up and around in a few days and even met up with my co-workers for a Christmas luncheon the next week. My DH dropped me off and picked me up. I was exhausted afterwards, but it was nice to see everyone and show pictures of Sarah! I hope you have some relief with the FM and that your daughter gives you strength.

Sarahmommy - congrats on the good results! One less worry, now the fun begins. I can't wait to hear what the kids say!

Miracle, Cathy, Claudia - hope you are all feeling well

Martha - thinking of you. I hope you are relaxing and staying strong. I am praying for you and your babies!

Nanoo, Judy, Maribeth - How are you doing?

Mandy - I am praying for you and Joe. I hope he is doing well. I wanted to wish you all the luck tomorrow with transfer!!!!!! You are the beginning of us October girls!

LOL!!! James will let me do whatever I want in the nursery, which I have a whole plan for. He is very involved in the name thing - the only one at the top of both our lists is Beatrix Simone.
