Good evening all! So we have checked into our hotel and I am on the laptop now!

So, I went in today for my u/s and b/w and all is well. I am now only taking Lupron (thank God!) and I will trigger tomorrow it looks like. That puts me down for my retrieval on Wednesday... right on schedule . I did not get my number for my E2 but it must be okay lol.

Tomorrow morning I am repeating the b/w and the u/s then we can go home for a night lol. Then bac for the retrieval, then home for 3-5 days. Then we are going to be staying in a hotel for 2-3 days after the transfer.

We actually had time to blow today so we went out to Coronado Island, and let me tell you... I can SO live there lol.

It seems this board is moving fast in positive progress, so lets keep that roll!

Hi Ladies,

My D & C went well, they removed 2 and a half polyps from my uterus and now I have a clean nest for baby to grow in!

I start Menopur injections tomorrow along w/ dexamethasone pills. In a few days I will start Ganarelix injection.
Any tips for injections?

Have you had any side effects from Menopur or Ganarelix? Dexamethasone?

One tip that may sound really odd...I have 2 random stretch marks on my tummy and injecting there is SO much easier than in the soft tissue... just a suggestion .

Thank you so much for your warm welcome! I managed to make it through my first night of stims, though I was super-stressed. I started to panic afterward about bubbles in m Gonal-F pen (even after priming). Did anyone have issues with that? Also, I forgot to recap the needle while I pulled out the knob to load the 150 unit dose. Would that introduce more air into the pen or is that not possible? I started to really panic that I might have injected myself with air and not medicine. I know, I'm driving myself crazy...

Mandy - it looks like we might be on a similar schedule since we started stims the same day. I'll be thinking of you! Also, I was told by my office that the BCP reduce the chance of cysts and help control the cycle so they can schedule patients, etc.

carseatfreak - I know what you mean about running out of space on my belly for these shots. Is there any way to avoid repeating an area? With 3-4 shots per night, I can't imagine not hitting the same spot twice.

caty561 - Sorry to hear that you are in a lot of pain. Wishing you all the best for your transfer!!!

AFM: I wanted to post yesterday after my appointment but too much family around and craziness to get online. I saw my RE yesterday morning. As he was doing the ultrasound he kept saying "holy cow" as he looked at the number of follicles. I guess there are quite a few. He said I responded really well to the meds but we're not trying to set a record so he's going to have to figure things out so things don't get out of control. He ended up bumping down the Gonal-f to 37.5 and said I might even have to coast a day. Luckily I didn't have to go in today but I'll be back in bright and early in the morning to see the doctor again. I'm happy that I'm responding to the meds, that is a good thing, but still worried about OHSS and the possibility of the cycle being cancelled. So, trying my best to relax and not over exert myself, not think about what's happening in my ovaries, and think positive thoughts. Really hoping that I get some good news tomorrow and get word on ER.

Well, sounds like it's going to be an exciting week in the July IVF thread with the ERs and ETs going on. I know I'll be sticking close to keep up

I have been following this thread for a while. You are a great bunch of ladies I was originally on the June thread but had to have a lap/hysteroscopy before continueing. I hope to get a calander at my final IVF appt tommorrow. And finally get started

Welcome welcome Bothsidesnow!! About those pesky bubbles.... I had a hard time getting all bubbles out of Gonal F too. Not sure why it was only with the Gonal. Anyway I had a little bubble at the top everyday and had to lie to DH and tell him I got it out or he wouldn"t inject! Anyway I am still alive and the meds worked.

As for injections I did a couple of shots in the thigh when I didn't think I could come up with a place.

Jennifer glad to hear you are starting up!!! Menopur for me really stung I wasn't on antagonist protocol so I am not sure on Ganrilex. Side effects of stims... I have felt nauseous since my E2 hit about 1000... Good luck girl and keep us posted!!

Hey, how did the trigger shot go for you? How long do you estimate you'll be there for the ER tomorrow? Did they tell you? And you go back for ET on Wednesday? I'm sure they'll tell me all that but curious minds want to know.

Bothsidesnow - Good luck with your shots tonight. I had to do 4 total so I feel your pain. I feel like I started to run out of spots towards the end b/c some were bruising.

AFM - my appt went well this morning. I had some that were pushing 20. My e2 came back at 1700+!!! Wow! The nurse was impressed as it was only 668 2 days ago (I told her it always takes a huge jump between days 6 and 8 of stimming). Anyways...my retrieval is now this coming Tuesday (I think that's the 7th) and I am going in tomorrow for some bloodwork and pre-op counseling. I'm supposed to trigger tonight at 11:00 (ugh...I'm not a late night person). We're thinking about going to fireworks since they were postponed from last night b/c it rained here. That will make a fun evening getting dd to fall asleep after 11:00...and trying to stay awake to bd per dr. orders (that does not sound like fun with how I feel right now and how my ovaries and uterus feel). I can't believe how fast everything is moving along!

How much time did you guys feel you needed to be down after retrieval. I am not sure if I will make it back to work the day after or not...what are your thoughts for those who have already been through it?

I'm wondering the same thing Amanda, about whether to take the day off after retrieval. Right now I"m planning on it. If anything I figure the more relaxing the better. I'm wondering if DH should have the whole day of the transfer off? I know he'll have to drive me (since I'll be on Valium) but he's wondering if he'll be able to go back to work afterwards. So many questions....

Catching up with everyone. I have been on Menopur and Bravelle makes me nauseous and really tired. I put both in the same needle but yes it stings. Makes the Lupron seem like nothing.

Forgot how bad the menopur burned... but DH did my lupron injection this morning and I did the stim injection tonight... Are you ready for the big day tomorrow!!!!
