Hey ladies (and our few gents). I was just thinking about posting an update, and here is our dear old July thread, just popped up onto the first page like it was just waiting for me.

After the failed July cycle, I kinda went a bit dark. I left my job, secured a new one and got to take 7 glorious weeks off in between. What we learned from our IVF cycle is that IVF is not going to work for us. My body produces an insane number of eggs but the quality is poor. The RE thinks the poor quality is a result of the stimulation and not just age issues so we decided to do a low tech IUI with very minimal doses of GonalF. We were going to shoot (no pun intended) for September but if it worked, I would be 8 weeks on my start date (which was Oct 26th) so we sat out and gave it a whirl in October.

I haven't talked to anyone about what we were doing. Not a girlfriend or a family member or even you guys. I just felt like talking about it made me more anxious and I didn't want to jinx anything. This was going to be our very last try since time is not on our side. At our age, you have to eventually call it a day and move on.

You guys might remember that I am anti-POAS. I didn't test, I didn't talk about it. Hell, half the time, I managed to not even think about it. My beta is scheduled for tomorrow and I am not really feeling much of anything. I assume that it just didn't work. I told DH that I am skipping the beta and waiting for AF but then, I thought, if I am going to skip beta, I should at least do a test so i can tell my RE why I am not taking the blood test.

Know what? The darn thing came up positive so I will take the blood test tomorrow after all. I know all the things that can go wrong so I am not getting too excited about it but hey, this is an important first step, no? Now we need to see the numbers do the right thing. I'll keep you posted.

Well hello my honey!!!! I am sooo glad to hear from you!!!!! WOW what great news.... your RE found the secret to your success... this is a break through for you and your DH.... I hope this one stinks for you... I am soooo happy and can't wait to hear your beta numbers tomorrow...

Mandy

Can we play a game to pass the time? I think Judy's numbers are going to be over 100.

Amy (since we know its high already lol) I bet is around 400.

Ugh. Now I'm really anxious and nervous!

I called and they said the nurse is not available yet. I don't know why, but I'm panicking now! LOL. This morning I was calm...but geez, its 1:30pm already (and later for some of you ladies).

I'm trying to keep busy at work adn finish up quick so I don't have to do work after getting my results.

I really hope so...but I keep calculating in my head that if I just picked up a faint positive on Monday, my beta today might be <100? I don't know how I did that, but playing with numbers in my head...ugh...why can't they call already!
