I'd love to join you. My DH and I live in Northwest Arkansas (home of WalMart) and will be cycling (with any luck) at the end of July. It will be our first go at IVF and we are very excited!

I have started on the Nuva Ring and am waiting for to visit late next week so I can schedule my HSG. 2 questions for you all:

1) Looks like my Day 10 is going to fall on a weekend. I can have an HSG on the weekend only if I sit in the ER all day and wait until they have time for me (it's not a full moon so I might be okay) or if my Day 10 were to fall on a weekday, I could schedule it (so much more convenient). I'm considering leaving the Nuva Ring in for an extra day and a half so that my Day 10 falls on a Monday...What do you think? I just can't imagine sitting in the ER waiting all day for the dreaded test, not knowing when to take pain meds, etc.

2) What pain meds did you take? How bad was the test? I know it's not supposed to be pleasant at all!

Thanks Ladies!
I don't know about the NuvaRing either but I did have the HSG. You've probably heard horror stories about. No, it's not that fun but it wasn't that bad either...and it's fast. It felt like some bad cramps but it went very quickly so it was tolerable. I too took the day off but I totally could've gone back to work. So don't get too nervous about it. Hope it goes well.

I am doing IVF #4 in July (I think)

Hello Ladies,

I would like to join this group since I am planning to do my next cycle of IVF in July. We are waiting for some results to come back and then we'll see if we will be able to do it again or not. Our embrios were not viable so we are searching for the answer. My DH had a sperm DNA fragmentation test last week, hopefully we get the result back by Friday and I had some test from blood taken, don't even know for what anymore.
Since I have done two and a half IVF's I am able to answer most of your questions, so don't hesitate to ask me.
Good luck to all of us!
Gypsy

New

Hello! Looks like I may be joining your group. I just had my second lap done today, and RE said we could probably start IVF #2 in July.
About me: I am 33, live in Indiana, and teach students with Emotional Disabilities. I have one DD (4 next month) who was conceived naturally. We have been trying to conceive #2 for about 2 years. My hubby is all good! As you can see from my signature, we started seeing our RE in Sept. He thought I would be an easy case, due to my age and already have a child. Boy was he wrong! There was a strange pooling at the u/s I had after my HSG test. RE thought it was adhesions from my c-section. He did a lap and found severe endo. He removed a huge cyst from my right ovary and recommended IVF. We started our first cycle in Feb. Another cyst popped up on my left ovary, but we continued the cycle. I had about 6 follicles, but he was only able to get one immature egg (empty follicle syndrome). So, we took some time off, researched, and decided to have the cyst removed. He said this one came off very easily. The last one had to be cauterized, which I think may have caused some of my problems during my IVF cycle (at my u/s last month they saw 6 antreal follies on the ovary--more than I had on both ovaries during my IVF cycle!). I am hoping that my right ovary will be capable of producing lots of follies, since it has had more time to heal, and that removing this cyst on the left will allow it to produce some too. Sorry about the book...I'm just trying to psych myself up!
We are also paying out of pocket. We took out a loan for the first round and still have drugs and money left over. If this doesn't work, we will either save up and try again, or I will use eggs donated by my cousin. It all depends on how this goes.

Christy

Smile my update

Will cross my fingers for you Christy

AFM I went in for my baseline ultrasound on Thursday and everything looked great. My Re said I had 10 follicles on each ovary and that he doesn't think I will have to have much meds to stimulate me so that is good. Will be better for my health and my pocketbook lol. I would have posted it sooner but was in shock as they also informed us we would have to pay them in advance next week when I go in for my trial transfer even though I will not be stimming until next cycle in June due to our special situation and needing the retrieval July 6-12th. It is not more money but is a month and a half sooner than we thought so was very stressful. We have the money saved up for the global fee but will have to finance the meds on our credit card. Luckily our creditcard is low interest so will be $20 a month in finance and we should be able to pay off in two months. I also stupidly assumed visit would be $40 co-pay and was awakened to bill of $310 plus will be $250-300 next week also.( We have to pay $500 deductible for our insurance plus 20% since ppo). It took a few days to work that out and come to terms with how to cover that extra expense but we got it and it will all work out in the end. I am taking bcp pills as of last night and will hopefully get my expected calendar next Thursday

Hi ladies. Hub and I had our meeting with our RE today. Found out they are paving the road in front of the clinic in July and so the RE wants us to wait until September to do a cycle. He is concerned about the toxins further affecting our embryo quality since last cycle we had very poor quality embies and dont need anything else bad to factor in. They are trying to make changes to their air exchange system in the embryology lab but to be on the safe side he thinks we should wait.

So, I'm kind of disappointed but I guess it makes the most sense for us to wait. As DH said we have enough working against us as it is, we don't need anything else. The RE also is suggesting we do PGD this cycle for a syndrom DH has, so we're looking into that too. An extra $2500

Im sorry to hear Jeep Girl but it sounds like probably for best as far as your success. $2500 sounds good for pgd we looked into it here in Texas and it was going to be an additional $5000 if we pursued it. Good luck to you with your September cycle I will keep you in my thoughts.

Thanks April. I guess I better double check on the PGD cost. That's a big difference. Hopefully he didn't say $2500-$5000 and I just heard $2500. They work through Genesis to do the PGD so I'll have DH call them today and do the phone consult.

I'm going to stick around here and see how things progress for the rest of you!

How is everyone? July is getting closer Jeepgirl, sorry about your cycle being delayed. Better safe than sorry, right? Hope you can get some stuff figured out in the meantime.
AFM: I was clinging to the slight hope that we'd get pregnant while waiting for IVF but AF showed her ugly face yesterday. Bummer. So I guess I have to accept the reality that we are for sure doing IVF (I think I was a little in denial until I knew this past month was a bust). I went in for bloodwork today, have my mock transfer scheduled for next week, my meds are ordered, and I start Lupron on June 7. I guess there's really no turning back now. We will likely be doing the ER and ET around July 4th weekend (poor timing but not much we can do about that). I do have a question. I hear a lot of people talking about starting BCP. My RE hasn't mentioned BCP at all. I'm guessing it just varies on the type of protocol or varying with the RE? Just curious. It's always interesting to see the differences in treatments.
Hope everyone is well.
