I had something similar happen to me! I had b/w and u/s done on 7/1. My E2 was below 20, so I started stims (follistim 125 and Menopur 2 vials) the next day. I went in today for b/w (no u/s--I guess I had more last cycle because of the cysts I had) and my E2 is only 43, after 3 days of stims. What does that mean?????? Last cycle, my E2 was fine at 194 on day 4. Now I am bumped up to 250 Follistim and 4 vials of Menopur. Does this mean anything bad? I just don't get it! How can I have no eggs last cycle but my E2 was good. This cycle, my E2 is low, but I know I have more follies than last time! I am so going to overanalyze this!

Hi everyone,

I am currently in the 2ww after a transfer on 7/1.

My progesterone level was 86 & my E2 was 1750. This is much lower than my levels on my first IVF (prog of 178 & E2 of 2678).

Anyone have similar numbers and get pregnant? Or different levels in different IVF cycles?

I'm trying to stay positive........

i hope things get better for you as well. the stress is really hard huh? not understanding all the things that happen with our bodies during this process and why won't our bodies take on some of the drugs and not the others.
it is crazy you and i are both taking lots of the menopur and follistum.
i hope they do not make you feel bad. let me know if they do and at least i knot it is the drugs and not my allergies.

This is my second cycle. During my first cycle I was extremely depressed (don't think that was the meds though--probably just the situation), was moody, and had terrible headaches. This cycle I have had hot flashes and headaches. I am also taking doxy (antibiotic that RE prescribes) and it has given me a stomach ache when I haven't been careful to eat. So, yeah, the meds have been a pain for me too. We can do it though!

We just got the results from first blood test on our day 16 with lupron of 10 units and they are E2 = 89 ( was 45 before lupron), P2 = 3.7 (was 5.4 before lupron). We are a little concern about the fact that E2 went up and P2 is not close to 2, as they expected. From tonight we start with 20 units of lupron for the next three days and we have to go back for blood test again on the 9th. The ultrasound was perfect,so we didn't expected this numbers.
When we called the office they said that P2 should be under 2 and E2 should be under 100, so that why they raised the lupron on 20 units.

What do you think on this?
Does this mean that my wife is a slow responder,but she will make it, or is something that we should be afraid from?

I wouldn't worry about it. The RE will monitor her levels and won't start her on the stims until she is really ready. Good luck and !

So I just took the HCG trigger shot and it was fine . DH is so good at giving injections, he used to do it to himself as a child so he has experiance. I numbed the site for 2 min with ice, he pinched and said done while I was still bracing myself for the pain lol. So now I get to sleep in for the first time this weekend (YAY)! Then retrieval on Wed AM...I cannot believe the time is here already!

Hi Tony, sounds like your wife is going through the same as me... no biggie... She just went through a full cycle from june to july...the only difference is she was given lupron in this cycle to suppresse her and stop her from ovulating... the BCP calms down the ovaries and balance things... looks to me that she is just not at her baseline yet like she was on june 2... that is why he has her coming back in....looks like she will be there very soon... Last week I went in on a Monday and was supposed to start my stims but my baseline was too high as per a cyst... as of Saturday everything was where it was supposed to be and I started my meds... he will keep testing her blood to make sure her E2 and P4 are where they supposed to be before she starts her shots or she won't respond well if taken too soon... I think you are in good hands....It seems to me he is going by the book!!!!! Good luck and welcome to the boards

So cool you finally triggered... glad DH has some experience... you will be having you retrieval tomorrow.... OMG!!! it is sooo close... Get you some rest tonight if you can.... can't remember are you doing a 3 day or 5 day?

Measuring the follicles and comparing it to the E2 level gives the RE an idea of how many mature follicles with eggs you have... this part seems to be done for you... you already had retrieval so that part is done... your progesterone looks great... my RE wants to see it over 20 when you are pregnant... your is 86... awesome number... this is my first IVF but believe me I have asked millions of questions to my RE and my nurse is patient and will answer any question I have... this is one of my questions ... I wanted to know what all these hormones do and what the numbers should be... and what they mean... I hope I eased you mind a bit... looks like your numbers are text book...
