April--Congrats on your calendar! I should probably call my RE's nurse and look into that.

Jeepgirl--Sorry to hear you are going to have to wait. Better safe than sorry though.

Maribeth--Sorry arrived. I know that feeling. I'm on bcps and was for my last cycle. I would ask your RE.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hi all!

April: That stinks that you have to come up with the money early but great that you are getting your calander soon! The ups and downs have already begun.

Mabelina: Many RE's use BCP's to suppress ovulation and control the timing of the cycle. I was happy to hear that I didn't need them at current RE because I hate BCP's. I think they contributed to my cancelled cycle last time, not to mention they make me miserable! And I know what you mean about . I am past the last ditch hope too. Even though she hasn't arrived I have a major case of PMS per DH

cathie: So you are thinking of delaying due to H1N1?

Jeepgirl: Sorry for your delay although it is nice that RE didn't just move forward. At least you know there is some integrity!

Christy: Your "book" was a good read Its great that you have 6 antral follicles. What protocol will you be on? I have endo too (stage 1-2). Just one lap for me so far and even if it didn't help get me pregnant I am glad I did it as I have been largely pain free since. Also your job sounds very rewarding.

Hope everyone is doing well. I can't wait for this summer. In addition to this IVF I have lots of time off from work for the first time in a long long time. Due to the economy we are all required to take 4 weeks of unpaid leave this year and I am LOVING it. Thats the time off, not the crappy economy that I love

I go in today for the results of my first B/W and I have an U/S and maybe more b/w on the 2ed of June if every thing is ok we will go a head with round 1 IVF ! So how are you going to spend your time off ?

Smile Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone!

I am a newbie to this thread. I was on the May IVF thread - but it was converted to an IUI at the end with no sucess. So now, I am on to trying IVF #2 and probably the last one due to finanical constraints. My new date will be July or Sept - we have not figured it out totally yet. Doc thinks its my endo getting in they way - so she wants me to be on BCP and Letrozole for at least one month, maybe two to get that to be quiet.

It has been a very crazy month and a half. I am very focused and ready to try again! I just hope this works!!!

I am very excited to start reading all the entries here! to everyone and !

- Kirsten

Our furbabies - 2 dogs and 5 cats

TTC since 12/06 (basically 3 months after Sienna born)
Tried Clomid cycles - early spring and summer 08
Tried Clomid / Gonal F cycle Nov 08
Waited to take more action until after 1/09 because of starting new insurance plan

Me - bariatric surgery 01, lapro surgeries for endo - 5 of them, myomectomy, csection, tummy tuck, and obstructed bowel 3-08 - so a lot of opening to my abdominal cavity - I am very prone to adhesions - so doc thinks (without proving it = surgery) the baby parts could be out of alignment and eggs are never meeting the sperm normally

So, IVF is our best option at this time to make sure the needed parts meet up and get where they need to be

IVF #1 Started Meds in April 09
Convereted to IUI at last minute - due to poor response
Beta May 19 09 -

Newbie here...

Hey all - I am a newbie to this thread....and wanted to say hello.

Am very excited and scared to be starting this IVF journey. SO much to think about and do - but I know I can do it and I for success.

I am starting my suppression cycle tonight - BCP's and then start Lupron injections on June 3rd.

I go back to the RE on June 15th and hope to start stimming then.

So, if all goes well, I am guessing that I will ER and ET last week of June/1st week of July !!

Looking forward to getting to know you all and celebrating those 's !!!

Thumbs up Hsg

Mabelina01 - I had the HSG test - and it was nothing really. There was a bit of cramping during the test - but nothing more than a period cramp really. I drove myself there and then went back to work for the rest of the day (test was around 9am). I did not even have any bleeding - although they say some people do. For me - it was nothing a bit of advil or OTC pain meds could not handle.

I have heard lots of horror stories about a lot of things in this arena - and I have found none of them to be true for me at least. I would not worry - you will be fine!

Your DH sounds like a real sweetie! Is he going to do your shots or are you going to do them yourself? I hope your B/W comes out good and that you are cyst free so you can start your IVF! As for my time off I will definately be spending lots of time outside. I love flowers and birds and my yard is starting to shape up nicely this year. Ahhhhh, I love this time of year.....

Welcome to the new people joining this thread.

Well things are on track for us. I got a call from the pharmacy and as long as everything is okay with the insurance I should be getting my "pharmacy" next week. I'm also very excited tonight because we got the last of our money that we needed to do our IVF cycle. We were banking on this bunch of cash coming in (from selling our car) and it FINALLY sold. YAY! So stoked. I was getting a little worried because we pretty much put all our eggs (no pun intended in one basket with this. But it worked out and we are good to go. We've had a lot of hurdles lately and it was nice to have something work out. Just had to share.
Anyone doing anything fun for the holiday weekend? We're going camping for the first time this summer and I cannot wait. Love camping. Anyway, hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

to ALL of the new future mommies!!! July is right around the corner!!!

jmom - How is that Royal Jelly working for you? I ordered it from the Vitaminshoppe after reading a few post and I took a 4th of a teaspoon (I am allergic to bee stings however I was stung last summer and did not have a reaction so I thought I might give it a try) and as soon as I swallowed the RJ/BP my lips started tingling and I was hyperventilating. My husband was standing next to me laughing because he says I will try anything. So I make him rush me to the hospital thinking that this is it, and as soon as we turn out of our subdivision, my mom called to ask me about something (I was not about to tell her about my ridiculousness) and I was talking to her as if nothing was wrong. Breathing was fine, the lips weren't tingling or anything. My husband pulled into the gas station after I hung up with my mom and said I am going to run in here to get a sprite, do you want anything? I said maybe some benedryl and a coke or something...I think I am ok. He just shook his head at me and walked off. So needless to say we didn't make it to the ER. He thinks I am the biggest Hypochondriac on the face of the earth. So now my RJ/BP is sitting at the top or my pantry waiting. I have an appointment with my allergist on this coming Thursday to see if I can officially start that regimen.

xaaf67x - Did you get your calendar yet?

Jeepgirl - I am sorry to hear that you are going to be postponed. But it gives you more time to prepare for what's to come. That is the way that I think about it. We are actually being postponed by a few weeks at first I was a little dismayed then I thought about it and it really isnt that bad. At least it is not a NO DEAL. So what is a few more weeks/months....we have waited this long, right?!

Cathie - How was Star Trek? My mother is a huge fan. Me, not so much, but I heard that it wasn't all sci-fi-y and whatnot. So I would love to hear what you though about it.

Mabelina01- Congratulations on the car sale! Sounds like you are ready to go!!

Is anyone else going to Injection Training? I have to set my appointment for the first week of June. Kind of nervous, I don't trust my husband with sticking me with anything. He already showed me his technique and how he is going to "jab" me with the needle and I don't like it. It looked painful as he was making a stabbing motion in the air. He is a big kid. Lucky for me, both of my older sisters live in the same subdivision as we do and I could just walk (or drive) to either one of their houses to administer the drugs.

Hi Ladies,
I'm an oldie on the Jan ('08) due date thread, but will be cycling again for #2 at the end of July so wondered if I could join you all here too?

This will be my third IVF (my second IVF was successful and I now have a 16 month-old boy).

Thumbs up DH giving the shots

I went to the training by myself for the injections, DH could not make it that day. So I taught him at home. I have no problems with needles - so I gave myself all the shots, except the trigger. One night, I let DH give me the stim shot because he wanted to try it. He was not that gentle at all! And he caused one of the two bruises I got during that time - which was pretty good considering I had 3 shots a day.... After I told him what he did wrong - it was like a light bulb went off in his head. And we laughed, because at the time (he is gone now... ) our old dog was suffereing from diabeties and DH gave the dog most of the shots. He realized that he was not being very gentle with the dog probably either ... and Cujo ( ) seemed to thank me for that the rest of his days.....

The trigger shot went perfect though... He was very good with that. That night when I had it all ready - his first words were "Holy crap look at the size of that needle"... and I am like - your lucky this does not bother me since that would be the wrong thing to say to some people....

The injection training is very helpful. I have also found some videos and decriptions of it online - so you may want to look for those as a refresher if needed. The stim shots are so easy.. the needle is so small. The mixing everything - if that is what you are doing - gets a bit old - but I feel into a routine and could get it done in about 5 minutes two times a day. Piece of cake really.

DH - 38 - normal everything ( relative to baby making!)

Have one beautiful daughter, Sienna Rain, 2.5 years old - conceived naturally

IVF #1
Stims in April 09
May 5-7 estimated ER
Converted to IUI at end due to low follicle count
IUI =

IVF #2
July 09 or Possibly Sep 09
May 20 2009 started BCP and Letrozol
Will be Bravelle and Menopur
Micro Flare Protocol
