Rowan-welcome. I am sending you BFP vibes. I too am with Sr. Surrey providing I can find someone to do the beginning part of my cycle. Everything is a little up in the air. Do you like him? He seems very nice, and understanding. Are you going to freeze everything, and back for fet. He suggested we do that because of my age, but my husband does not think it is something he wants to do. We have not had the misc that you have had. My heart was breaking reading your sign. You really deserve your BFP.
Charms- I am sending you BFP vibes too. You are so brave to go back so quick. Mammasoon- you are on my mind. I hope everything is going well, and you have figured everything out. You don't deserve this stress along with this situation. Lots of positive thoughts from me. It is your turn for BFP too.

Hi pdeupree, I'll be at staybridge this week. You probably may be done w/ER by then. Are you doing PGD or tx'ing w/this cycle? Hope other follies catch soon and good luck to you, too. Anybody else at staybridge this week? Feel free to PM if you'd like to meet up/connect. Josee, when do you leave? Did you find a RE after all? |

Hey ladies!
Schum, yes, we are doing a “freeze all” with micro-array testing on any blasts we can make……I’m hoping we can get some to blast! We probably won’t get the results back until April 20th or so. We’ll be doing a FET around late May / early June timeframe. Right now, I’m just waiting for them to call with my bloodwork from this morning. U/S looked good, but if e2 levels are sky –high today, we will trigger tonight with ER on Tuesday. E2 was 3700 yesterday. I would like to go one more day because I have quite a few follies that still need some growing. I would like to trigger tomorrow night and ER on Wednesday, but I’m not the expert….Dr. Surrey is, so I have to trust him. He seems very nice, but we haven’t met him yet. We’ve only talked on the phone. Hopefully we’ll get to meet him at ER. Have you met him? Vin, it’s so great that someone else is from Chicago! Sounds like you’ll be about a week behind me. You’ll get here on the day of my ER. J We are actually staying downtown Denver. It’s only about 20 minutes each way to CCRM and we’re surrounded by cute shops and restaurants. Honestly, we haven’t really done anything fun though because we are both fighting awful colds. Fun stuff on top of feeling swollen and bloated. J Pdeupree, Sounds like you’re ER will be the day after mine! Maybe you’ll be pleasantly surprised and they get more eggs than you think. You’re right about the weather being much nicer here than in Chicago. Too bad DH and I are miserable with colds right now….yuck. Good luck with everything this week!

Hi Rowan and Dupree! Welcome to the thread! You gals are all out in Denver already. Soooo? Hows it going out there? Any recommendations on activities or restaurants?
So do we really have 3 girls from Chicago in here. So Rowan who did you see in Chitown and what area of Chicago? Did you do estrogen priming or BCPs before stims? Vinita, where are you from? I went to Hinsdale Center for Repro for my 1st 2 cycles and I leave in the west suburbs a little southwest of the zoo. So I wasn't suppressed enough at my bloodcheck yesterday so I might get cancelled. My progesterone was too high. I am so disappointed. So we'll check it again yesterday and hope for the best. Good thing I told DH to hold off buying the tix. Ugh. Schum, my local guy did come around and since I sent him so research he was looking for, he promised to do same day results to ccrm. HEY CHristine!!! :-) We are doing another freeze-all with a FET in April or May.

Hi MamaSoon!
We’re from the Naperville / Aurora area. I grew up in Geneva (my fam still lives there) so I’ve been in the Chicago-land area my entire life. J My first RE and IVF #1 and IVF #2 was with IVF1 with Dr. Morris in Naperville. IVF #3 was with FCI (Fertility Centers of Illinois) FCI works really closely with CCRM and has referred several patients to them. I really lucked out that they were more than willing to do my monitoring because they know Dr. Surrey so well. I didn’t do any suppression at all with this cycle. Lupron doesn’t work on me. I tried it in one of my other cycles and I actually developed a follicle and ovulated while taking it. It only apparently happens to about 5% of women….I was one of the lucky ones who had my cycle set-back by a month because of it. The only protocol that works for me is antagon. I basically went in for CD2 bloodwork and u/s and started stims on CD3. I actually just got word that we are triggering tonight because my E2 level jumped up to 4400. ER will be on Tuesday morning at 9am. J Since we’re doing the micro-array testing, the more the merrier. We met with Danielle, the genetics counselor at CCRM and she mentioned some average numbers. On average, 75% of the eggs retrieved will be mature and will fertilize. About 50% of them won’t make it to the day 5 blastocyst stage and about 50-60% of the blasts sent for micro-array will come back abnormal. So basically, if we can get 18 eggs….about 14 should fertilize….7 should hopefully make it to blast and only about 3 will come back normal after micro-array. To be honest, we would be ECSTATIC to have 3 “normals” come back. We have a hard time creating quality blasts anyway, so this should be interesting. We won’t know the results until 6 weeks after they are biopsied and sent out. Our transfer won’t be until late May / early June. We’ve never done a FET so I’m praying and hoping it will do the trick for us.I’m so sorry about your progesterone and things being on hold right now. I feel like all we ever do on this infertility journey is…..WAIT. We are always waiting for something and it’s so frustrating. The lupron cycle really pissed me off because I was on it for like a month and ovulated anyway…..I had to start all over. I actually have a blog about our journey….. www.nobunintheovenyet.blogspot.com Anyway, when is your next suppression check? I’m SO excited to have fellow CCRM girls to chat with about all of this!

Josee,
I am so sorry about the glitch. I hope that the recheck of P4 fixes it and that you start the cycle as scheduled. Hang in there!I am in the northwest subrubs (buffalo grove area). Rowan11, I cycled (all) at FCI, too. (Dr. Jacobs). Yes, they do have many of their patients cycling at CCRM so they don't mind monitering at all. Hope you feel better soon. That cold can be a real pain. and Happy Trigger! Good Night ladies, Vinita |

Rowan, I blog too and it looks like we share commenters. :-) I just love Sky. So what did you think of Morris. I had a second opinion with him and wasn't impressed. other people like him. Congrats on triggering tonight. I hope you get your 3 normals. That would be amazing!!!
So Vinita, looks like i'll be a few days behind you if I get the go ahead. You'll have to tell me how those restaurants turn out.

Vin, this cold is kicking my butt. I feel absolutely awful. I NEVER get sick and of course I'm sick now during such an important time.....soooo frustrating.
Thanks for the well-wishes! Looking forward to chatting with you more. ![]() mamasoon, Honestly, I liked Dr. Morris until after my 2nd failed IVF, he wasn't willing to change my protocol at all....he just wanted to do the same thing that clearly hadn't worked the first 2 times. That was frustrating and caused me to go to FCI instead. I just checked out your blog and I'm so jealous of your cooking skills. I hate to cook because frankly, I'm not very good at it. Maybe I'll steal a few of your recipes....they looked so great! I'm praying your progesterone goes down so you can get started! Good night ladies! (My real name is Tiff.....Rowan is our favorite girls name and 11 is my lucky number )

Josee- I just popped on to check out how you were doing - I can't believe you may have to push off the cycle! Are you doing EPP? I'm glad you held off on buying tickets too - I hate waiting until the last minute but neither cycle I've done has been predictable! I hope things are better with your p4!
I just got back from CCRM on Saturday, after dropping our embies there. The staybridge is super-comfy and has a great selection of movies to rent if you are transferring and on bedrest (at least the staybridge in Lone Tree does, the other one, I'm not sure). By the way, we did a hotwire package for the hotel and car and ended up paying just $39 a night for a suite at the staybridge (which is insane) so I thought I'd pass on the info... In the meantime, I am obsesssing about how many of our embies will make it to blast but wanted to stop in and wish everyone else good luck! I really think CCRM is the best- I am constantly impressed. (but I am a patient of Dr. G, so don't know the others well). Sue

I am popping on this thread, and hope you don't think I'm hijacking it. I've been following you ladies because I can't seem to find too many other people doing EPP and I have lots of questions and worries.
Josee - I am so sorry that you are going through this. I hope that you get the green light today to go ahead. Can you help me understand why an elevated Progesterone means you weren't suppressed? I thought that when they talked about supression it was the hypothalmic/pituitary axis they meant (influencing the FSH and LH, and indirectely the estrogen levels). The progesterone is released from the corpus luteum in the ovary from the follicle you released the egg from. What bearing will that have on your next cycle? This is all so frustrating, especially when our bodies do not follow the rules. I am in CD 28 and hopefully ovulated this weekend. Who knows what my body is doing??? You have been through so much and I just want to say that I admire your strength and truly wish you the best of luck!
