I honestly would do all the injectables and retrieval and transfer before I would EVER do clomid again...and that's just a little pill. It just made me nuts. The whole IVF process was so much easier than I expected.

The best advice that someone gave me is to put all your medication out of sight and only take out what you need for each day. That helped me to not be overwhelmed and to just take it one day at a time.

It will all be worth it!

Thanks! I will take that advice. I am SO excited to start. I have done a couple of IUI cycles with the same drugs, but I am nervous about the new stuff. I am a pro at the needles and so is DH. He does most of them. It is great to be doing this with all of you though. It makes me feel less alone. Thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions. They are always welcome!

Hello ladies!

I am new here...unfortunately . I am 16 days past trigger/9 days past booster today on an injectable/TI cycle and the BFP I had yesterday is barely visible so I know that yesterday's was just the booster still in my system. I do know that my temp is staying up for some reason...but I know this cycle is pretty much over so I will be moving on to IVF next cycle per my RE suggestion. I've accepted that and I'm okay with that today though. I've had some rough bouts with depression this last cycle.

Anywho...I have only had minimal info on my protocol (haven't officially met with RE this cycle...just questions for the IVF coordinator throughout this month). I know I will move to IVF this cycle and start Lupron on day 20...meds 10 days later. I've been a fair responder to the gonal-f 150. This last month I did 10 days of shots and ended up with 3 mature eggs. I've only figured out how to find enough money for 2 cycles (still adding debt...my insurance pays for the injectable part only...better than nothing I know).

Any questions you gals think I should ask when I go in next week? This is still all foreign to me and I will probably spend tonight after dd goes to bed researching (she is still asleep). I have a dd who is 5 and is a 4th cycle clomid baby. I did check my re's success rates on cdc website and they were on the low side but when I spoke with IVF coordinator (my nurse over the past 3 months who was an IVF patient herself and who I LOVE) she said the quarterly rates have been coming in around 60% which I thought was excellent).

Sorry so long...guess I've been saving it up! Wishing you all the best of luck and a Happy Mother's Day!

~Amanda

Is suprefact like Lupron? I have never heard of it before and I want to make sure that you are updated correctly on the list. Thanks

carseatfreak - I'm so sorry that your last cycle seems to have not worked but it is great that you and your RE agree that you can jump right in with IVF. It sounds like you know more about the process than you might think. You are already familiar with what insurance covers so now you just need to determine what the out of pocket expense might end up being (non-covered meds, office visit copays or b/w and u/s scans, hospital fees, etc...they can really add up but knowing what to expect should help). You also have a good idea about the protocal which is more than my office would tell me at this phase of my 1st IVF cycle. The process can definitely be scary but once you start to get into it, I think that you'll realize you are more prepared than you think. I wish I had some specific questions to offer for you to take to your RE....sorry!

Good luck at your appointment!

Baby4Gerbee - Yeah that AF showed up so that you can get started! As far as the trial transfer goes....It certainly wasn't pleasant. Honestly, mine was rather painful at the time but it passed as soon as the test was over. I think that my RE just wasn't very gentle and he didn't warn me that it was coming when it did - I doubt that yours will work out that way. Regardless, I'd recommend taking some Tylenol prior to the appt in case it ends up uncomfortable. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

YAY, AF arrived 2 days late.....but she's here It really doesn't put me off that much since I was scheduled to start BCP's today if I started on Friday, but now I'll begin them tomorrow instead. Only a day off.

I'm worried about the tight schedule that my RE's nurse has for me though....since the lab closes in June/July, but she said she'd shorten my BCP's if needed so we'll see

Anyone that just finished BCP's, when did AF arrive after your last pill?

Oh and the question on the Trial Transfer....I had mine done last cycle and it wasn't anything really. I have a pretty straight shot, no crooks or hard right turns LOL so it went well. I did take meds before my Saline sono and biopsy this time though, last time the saline sono was HORRIBLE....even though everyone I spoke with on here that was cycling with me said that it wasn't that bad LOL Everyone is different

Hi Everyone,

Being my first IVF cycle (or any fertility cycle, for that matter), it's been a little stressful to say the least... It's overwhelming to figure out everything and keep it straight.

But, over the weekend I found something that has greatly reduced the anxiety and stress- gardening! I've been weed whacking all day and it's been wonderful.

So, if anyone else is going to fall overboard with all the stress, it might be worth a shot

Hope everyone's have a great Monday.

IndieBlue reminded me why my Trial transfer sucked so bad. I completely forgot that everything is a bit tilted for me in there. I think that played a big part in the tough experience that I had. I really hope that no one else has the "fun" that I did.
