Hello ladies and to the newbies. I have posted latley since nothing is really new just counting the days down for my AF to arrive to start BCP. I wanted to start BCP with the last AF but the RN told me that i did not need to that when this one arrives around may 10th is just fine for 21 days.. But i thought u needed to be on BCP for atl east a couple of mths to calm your ovaries?

May I ask you what ins you have?? I have BCBS of IL in which covers for fresh ivf cycles but i am not sure on the medication part yet as I have to wait for the RE to send it in. I do have meds coverage but dont know how much yet...

Yeah, I took antibiotics too after my hysteroscopy n after ER. I just hadn't heard of taking them at the start of a cycle nor did I know that some have DH take em as well.

So I went on Monday to the RE for my consult. He said for our situation and age he feels our odds are very good and his office has success rates in the 60%'s for people my age. He was nice and explained all the steps to us. I got my bloodwork from my obgyn office that evening and my day 3 fsh was 5 and my estradiol is <15 not sure if I should be concerned about how low the estradiol is or not. The RE gave me a prescription for prometrium to take 10 days starting cycle day 15 and then I have to wait for to arrive again and go in for more bloodwork and a baseline ultrasound.

April - xaaf76x - I'm so glad that your consult went well and that you are on your way to getting this crazy process started. I wish I knew more about estradiol to tell you what is concerning and what isn't. I figure that if the nurse/RE says the #s are good, then just go with that.

AFM - I'm still waiting for AF. Now's one of the few times I wish that my cycles were shorter than normal instead of longer.

Also, I mentioned a few days ago that I have a copy of a meditation CD that a friend who just successfully completed IVF gave me (she's preggo with twins now) and I'd be more than happy to share with anyone who might want it. It's designed for us "fertility-challenged" kinda people, especially as you go through the various procedures (ER, ET, shots, etc.). I've been trying to come up with some way to send this out and am getting stuck. The files are too big to attach to this forum. I can email directly to anyone that wants them...assuming my personal email account and yours can support large files (they range from 4-20 MB). Or I could always just burn it to a CD and snail mail it out which is fine too. Basically I welcome any advice/suggestions that you might have on a way to post it somewhere with no size limits.

Anyway, let me know if anyone is interested and how you want to try to receive it.

One last thing - I have tried to update the list below with the newest members and the latest status updates that I saw over the last few days (updates in green). I hope I didn't miss anything. Still praying for those of us who are waiting to start and the few of you who are already hitting the drugs!

Not much to share but I thought it was time for an update. I am currently waiting for AF so I can start BCP. Both DH and I have completed the chromosome test and I the anti mullerian (egg reserve). During the week of 5/24 I will gets the labs for any immune disorders done. So, currently we are still in the waiting mode, uhhh! We should get the results from the first of tests soon.

Glad to see so many of us going thru this together... very encouraging!

MY RE told me and the DH to take them to prevent from infections. For my DH they just gave the basic blood work and sometimes and more common than others women tend to get any little infections. No use for me to take them and than continue to have intercourse with my DH with no protection which will just pass it right back to me.

To all of the newbies!! It's been a while since I posted and figured I would just stop in and say hey. I am hoping that we will start on cd3 at the end of May. And worse case scenerio we are starting in June, but that is only if we are not quite financially ready. But so far we're doing alright. We have to pay for it all out of pocket, FL insurance doesn't cover anything with IVF. Started Metformin as prescribed by RE today and so far it hasn't effected me at all thank goodness. (I have heard that it can make you sick to your stomach.) Also, I am getting ready to start the Royal Jelly tomorrow.

Hello Ladies,
is here. Didn't expect till the end of the week but i guess my body wanted it so much that it has now happened.
So i'm calling my RE's office morning and i know the testing and BCP will begin on Thursday.
I'm so excited.
DH finally got an appointment for his SC test for next Wednesday. After waiting for 2 weeks for them to get back from their vacation. Nuts i know.
Everything is falling into place. Just hoping everything goes well with DH's test.

I appreciate reading all your posts. We had a consult with our RE yesterday and found out we will be starting IVF next. He gave me a 1 inch book to read but it is very overwhelming. I feel like I don't know anything about what to expect. He just kept saying call day 1 and gave me a prescription for BCPs. He did say we would do Lupron and Follistim. At first he said we would transfer two and now he said probably have to do 3 with ICSI of 3 and not the others if we have the 10 he wants. And he isn't sure if we will qualify for the shared risk because my FSH is 10 which he never mentioned before.

So if AF is due mid-may does that mean I will likely in June or July? I knew what was happening with the IUIs and now I feel completely out of it. Anything that you can suggest would be great.

I went into my RE's office today and had an U/S and blood work done. In Oct 08, i was told i had a 24mm sized cyst and today there was nothing there. My ovaries looks nice big and everything looks good. I was given my BCP and that will go on for 14 days. On the 14th of may, i have another appointment with my RE and get another U/S and lab work done.
I handed in all the paper work and consent forms, so we are on our way.
Waiting for a call from my RE's office to hear about the U/S and the lab work.

Hi Carri,

If am doing my math correctly I est. that you would begin stimming mid/late June, ER and ET early July. I could be off!! My RE will put together my calendar when arrives in the next few days. I will be stiming early June, ER and ET mid/late June depending on response, so that is what I am basing my est. off. Good luck! Keep us updated and feel free to ask any questions. It is really overwhelming when you get that booklet with all that information.
