As an "August 2008 IVF'er", I wanted to wish you all the best of luck and send you lots of baby dust!!! We actually started our cycle in July, but our retrieval was August 3rd and our transfer was August 8th. I don't normally believe in signs, but we had 8 embryos that fertilized, and we transferred 2 on 08/08/08! Our beautiful baby boy was born on April 16th, so I'm pretty partial to August and think it's a great month for IVF!!!

Once again, good luck everyone!!!

I will be joining you gals as well :)

Hi,

My dh and I just got done with an ER today and because of low ovarian reserve amongst other issues we only got 3 eggs. We were hoping to have 2-3 children, so we decided against ET at this time because if I did become pregnant now we would not beable to do another cycle for 12-15 monthes and by that point I may have no eggs left, so I will be taking a break in June to let my one ovary rest, but will be joining you ladies for bcps, lupron in July with a target date for ER/ET in August. Wishing everyone the best and lots of baby dust.

What's the schedule?

Hi ladies,

DH and I have been going in for all our testing. We went in today for Day 3 bloodwork and ultrasound. RE saw 12 antral follies; haven't gotten the results yet about my FSH.

Anyway, he's probably going to put me on BCPs, then Lupron, then stimming.

With that information, do any of you veterans have an idea as to how the schedule will go?

I guess I'm wondering if I will be doing my possible ER/ET in early or late August, based on where we are right now.

Anyone have an idea?

Hi Tanter !

GOOD LUCK on your first iVF!! I just did my first one ever and it was quite the experience. Your antral count is AWESOME !!!!! you will be a good responder.

As far as your schedule goes and what to expect,, there are many different protocols and I am still a newbie.. Mine went like this: i did the day 3 tests one month, then they ordered all my meds. Then the following month I went in again for day 3 ultrasound and that night I began my stimming medications. I took stims for 12 days. Some people take other meds actually before they start stimming depending on the protocol. 4 days into stimming i added another shot to stop my ovaries from ovulating. Then inbetween all this stuff you are going into your clinic every other day so they can constantly monitor you via blood tests and ultra sounds. as you go, they determine the date of your egg retreival and then they decide if you will be a 3 day transfer or 5 day transfer to put the embryos back. then its a two week wait (2ww). CRAZY !
every step of the way is fragile. I didn't make it to my transfer on my first time because my embryos were not dividing and had too much fragmentation. (ask your RE about embryo grading when you get to ER/ET step of process)

Hope this helps!! GOOD LUCK!
see you around on these threads..

Thanks so much for this really helpful post! I really appreciate it.
DH and I are going in for our IVF consult a week from Thursday, where I guess we'll actually give us our protocol. My next cycle will be the 4th week in June, so that's when I'll start the BCPs. I'll keep you updated as to how that goes.
Hopefully some more August IVFers will join this group soon. We need some more CBs on this list!! :-)

I'm so sorry your first cycle had to be canceled. That must have been SUCH a bummer! After taking all that medication and going in for all that testing! Grrrrr! My heart totally goes out to you.
I really hope we're all successful this time! It will be so nice to see a bunch of BFPs at the end of August, beginning of September!

Hi Ladies,

I'm on the July board, but I'll actually be cycling late July/August so this thread might be a better for me in terms of schedule. Plus, they are pretty far along, so I was a late joiner.

Hopefully I'm not too late to join here?

I'm a oldie on the January Due Date thread from way back in 2007 but many of those girls are either done or not quite ready to try for #2 yet!

As you can see by my signature, I went through two fresh IVF cycles before I got my positive so hopefully I can help shed some light on the whole process for any newbies.

Hi everyone!

I'm noticing that people have IVF cycles whenever they fit into their regular cycles. Is my dr the only one that syncs up his whole office? They only do it every other month, and they get us all on the same schedule (I guess by manipulating bcps), then they have a week set aside for ERs. So depending on your response, you go in for the ER when it works for you, but they know it will be at some point in the same week. My dr already gave me my schedule (you can see in my signature), that ER will be approx the week of Aug 18. They automatically do a 5 day transfer.

I never thought I'd be excited to go back on BCPs, but once I get to that point, the ball will start rolling. I'm so eager - this feels like such a long break from my last IUI to my first IVF.

I hadn't heard of this syncing-up program until I read your postings. Is your fertility center pretty small? That might be why. I'm going to a big one, with multiple locations, and they work 7 days a week, which I guess means they can pretty much work around most anyone's natural cycle. But to be honest, your way actually sounds really good. At least you already know when everything is going to happen. I still have to wait for AF to come again this month before I can even start the BCPs, and who knows when she'll show up this month. She's been hopping around from 26 to 29 days, ever since I started IF treatments. I wish I had a date already scheduled for ER and ET! I'm jealous! :-)

I've never heard of a practice getting all their patients on the same schedule either, though I bet it is convenient for every one.

As a planner, I kind of dig that idea but then part of me says cycling closer to my "natural" cycle is good too?

Good luck!

Hi everyone. I was so happy to see so many people in the Aug group

Kick-can't believe what you went through with your Dr. Really. I can't. And those dropping numbers. I'd be out of there like a bat out of ...
I hope you find a wonderful, professional and talented dr. to take his place.

Well, I am a secondary IF person. we did our first IVF last Feb and had our baby girl last fall. She's seven months old now, and we're aiming for about an 18 month age diff so these two will have less of a gap than first two... so long and short is that we're back in the assisted reproduction game. Its such a hopeful and scary world to re enter! Im so grateful for these these message boards. Theyre what got me through last time.

We're doing a FET, I hope no one minds if I'm part of your IVF group??

good luck to everyone!

oh, I havent heard of syncing up either. What clinic do you go to?

My doctor recently joined IVF Florida - before he had a private practice. They have multiple branch offices, but his is only 2 minutes away so it's really convenient. They are now open 7 days a week, and I guess he still keeps his office running the same (getting everyone sync-ed up). It's sort of frusterating, I have to wait an extra month instead of starting BCPs right away. Oh well, at least I'm finally feeling back to my good ol' self for the first time in a loooong time. All in due time, I guess!

I hope everyone is getting geared up! Are we all starting BCPs with the start of our next cycle? For me that should me mid-June (which is now not all that far away)!!!

Hi there ladies! I posted an IVF in August yesterday but saw you ladies had a thread already started and wondered if I could join you?

I am doing my transfer and retrieval in August. Finding out if I'll be starting bcp this cycle or next depending on when my body decides to stop spotting and start my period.

It's my first IVF so I would appreciate ANY advice, pointers, and support that I can get. Going on a rollercoaster ride already with an array of feelings and need a cheerleader or two or more

Kickernik.......I remember you from December, we were doing a cycle together.
I am looking at doing IVF in August again. I am on Metformin for 2-3 months to improve my egg's quality.
Have you found a new RE yet?
