Red face headaches...part III

Ok so HI everyone! I just had my yearly...hoping that turns out normal . The headache is still around, but now that I've had it for about 5 days or so it's starting to become "background noise". The BCP I am on is Desogestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol (.15mg/.03mg). According to RE it's about as mild as he can get for me. Oh well...guess I'll just deal. Got my protocol in the mail yesterday. Will start .1ml of Lupron every morning on July 13th. On July 27th I will drop Lupron down to .05ml and start 150iu of Follistim and 150iu of Repronex. Will have monitoring that day and then everyday starting July 31st. Target ER is Aug 7th and target ET is Aug 10th. BETA 14 days later. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hope all my ladies are doing well so far! can't believe tomorrow is July already! Where has this year gone? The next month or so will fly by quickly...then it will come to a dead stop and time will move backwards while I am in the 2ww.

Last IUI, I had mild OHSS and the dr said if I had any further pain, I would be on bed rest. Doh! What a kick in the butt to be on bed rest and NOT be pregnant! I have also heard of no major exersize for a few days after ET. Oh, and usually after ER you're groggy and they want you to take it really easy for the next day or two.

In my protocol it says and I quote cause I think it's funny "After ER no bouncy activities after ER because your ovaries will be swollen. (ie running, excercise...). After ET no sex, no swimming, no bath (shower ok), not hot tub. Walking excercise ok, not running, no heavy lifting. An no sex"

So no bouncing and no sex is important enough to mention twice. I guess they go hand in hand.

Everyone seems so supportive and helpful here so I had to join.

Welcome Evan.

I'm very new to the IVF process as well. Just reading this board has taught me a lot of things. I feel more prepared now and I will be able to ask my RE more intelligent questions. (I mean, I'm still totally overwhelmed and a tad bit nervous - but its good to know you don't have to go through all of this alone!)

A little bump in the road

Thanks for all the welcomes! It's so good to have a forum where people understand what I'm going through. My husband and I haven't told our families yet and only a couple friends know. We plan on telling the families sometime soon but didn't want to freak them out yet. My in-laws went through this with my BIL and SIL but I know my MIL well enough to know she's going to cry and I just can't handle that right now.

anyway, i had my SIS this morning. It was a breeze compared to my HSG. Crazy that I was so nervous about it. But they found polyps so I have to have them removed. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow if I'm going to remain on schedule for ER and ET in the first week of August.

Aww Evan, I'm sorry to hear that. But it sounds like they can take care of them quickly and keep you on schedule. So that's great. What are polyps? Are they like fibroids?

I'm not sure really what they are. They showed them to me during my SIS. They don't look like much but they can cause miscarriages so we have to remove them before proceeding. I think they're just flaps of skin but they need to be removed and checked for cancer.
Web md's answer to what a polyp is:
"A polyp is a small growth of excess tissue that often grows on a stem or stalk.
Polyps can grow in organs such as the large intestine (colon) or uterus. Most polyps are benign (not cancerous). However, some polyps can become cancerous over time."

Hi Everyone,
Happy last day of June! AF finally arrived after 42 days - I'm usually a 30 day cycle kind of girl. It feels good to have dates to count down to! Hope you all are doing well, staying healthy and positive!

Yay, finally time to catch up!

MPisready - you asked what we're doing to get ready...well, I'm taking Royal Jelly with bee pollen (I agree with everyone - it's yummy ESPECIALLY when I'm trying to go sugar free the rest of the day, then that one tsp of honey is soooo good!). I'm also doing acupuncture and yoga for fertility. I've given up caffeine except for chocolate but I try to limit that. I've also stopped all strenuous exercise (except for BDing - wink, wink) and the lack of exercise, combined with the chocolate I haven't completely rid myself of, is not good for my ever-expanding a**.

Christeena - I think you're right, I'm not going to bring it up for a little while. Who am I kidding? I'm going to take an HPT in 4 days (14 dpo), and if that's negative, I think it'd be difficult for me not to say, "Hmmmm, what can you do for me to make this better?"

Tanter - our group DOES rock!! You cracked me up - yes, we should all be blessed with babies because we are "frikkin' awesome"! And to you for getting it done the ol' fashioned way this weekend. Set off some fireworks, girl!

Evan, Kate94, and GreenMomma - As Tanter says, this group rocks!

1dayatatime - how'd it go with the doctor?

PG_Florida - your post is so mysterious! I'll have to PM and find out what's going on. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Winnie - "no bouncing and no sex." Lol! I'll keep that in mind.

amax - holy crap, that was a long cycle, especially if you're used to a 30 day one. Glad she finally decided to show up! Were you taking progesterone or something that made it that long?

Afm, I'm feeling better and hopeful, and I really can't wait to read about all of our BFPs!!!
