Thanks,

Hey umut, I use that because I seem to have very little CM on clomid. If you get the prefilled applicators, I found that there was too much and it made for slip 'n slide type BDing. Not too fun. But other than the fact that I have yet to get a BFP after using it, I think it's a good product. You have to have decent CM in order for the little swimmers to get through the cervix, so it's definitely a great idea in theory...

Hi TTCAngel, I read it in several sources that Clomid causes dryness therefore it makes CM dried up. So using pre-seed is a good idea.
How many times did you use pre-seed? The reviews in the internet, 95% of women who are having trouble of conceiving got pregnant in the first use of pre-seed. Of course everyone's condition is different.
I just don't want to start IVF before trying pre-seed since IVF is a very stressfull process.

Hi Ladies,
I'm a newbie to IVF and would like to join you.

I just finished my last cycle with IUI and now moving on to IVF. I had my nurse consultation the other day and her lips were moving, but I didn't hear anything she was saying. It was way too much information.

So, I'm taking one step at a time. I went for my first bw/us this morning and will be starting BCP's tonight.
I have to go back on 7/24 for bw/us and I guess to start my Lupron.

Some information about me: I've always known I couldn't get pregnant but thought it would happen when I was ready. Both DH and I were born to mothers in their 40's.

DH and I have been together for 9 years. He is a HVAC guy and I work for a consumer healthcare company. We have three lovely dogs(2 Llasa's/ 1 Shih Tzu) and 24 Guinea hens.

One good thing about my job is that it's just a desk job and I am not micro managed so I can leave to go to my appointments. Well I always make them at 7am anyway and usually beat the rest of my coworkers in.

I'm looking forward to all your advice/tips and am so glad we can support each other!

I will start my first cycle of IVF in aug 2009. I don't know so much about the protocols, can someone give me info?

I can't help with the protocols as I'm just learning them as I go along. This is all still so new to me. Just wanted you to know you're not alone.

Greenmama: I don't know where I'm doing the shots yet. I don't find out how to administer them until the 16th. I start them on the 17th. I'm hoping they go a lot better than I'm anticipating. I couldn't watch the woman do my IV yesterday so I don't know how I'll do when I'm givign shots to myself.

95%?!! It figures I'd be part of the unlucky 5% (I used it for 3 of my 5 clomid cycles, but one of the 3 cycles is still in progress). Actually, I think that figure is probably pretty optimistic, but that's not to say it won't work for you. To me, a high percentage like that makes sense only for those who have no reason for not getting pregnant. Clearly, it wouldn't help someone who doesn't ovulate or have blocked tubes... I think it would be really helpful for someone who is using clomid, or whose DH has lower motility in order to help the little swimmers get to where they need to go. If you haven't done it before and you have the time, it's definitely worth a try before doing IVF.

If you have a chance, add your stats to your signature so we can see what's gotten you to this point! (Go to "User CP" above and hit "Edit Signature") Good luck!!

PS, Athena -

Newbie and Evan (and anyone else who might have trouble understanding the language) - it took me awhile too, until I realized that there was a list of acronyms at the top of this page. It's right above the "Forum Categories" and next to "User CP".

Good Morning Everyone! I'd like to join as it looks like I will be doing my 3rd fresh ET in August. I have my baseline on the 21st with a projected ER on 5 Aug and ET on 8 Aug. I wouldn't be surprised if my dates shift a little (they always do)...but who knows since they are upping my meds this time.

Ladies just came from a pedicure...oh so relaxing...I could have fallen asleep. DH and I took a bike ride this morning- it was really nice. Off to the movies with DH and mom soon. We got a head start as we both work for the government- hope everyone else has a wonderful weekend! Trying to enjoy and relax leading up to everything. It still weighs on my mind as well as the questions still to transfer 1 or 2 embys ?? Asked my mom how she would deal with twins she said easy 1 for me and 1 for DH...but what about when we are at work? Of course we were just feeling her out she doesn't know about the IVF yet just that we have been going to the Dr for "help".

Athena,

I know its intimidating the first few appts regarding IVF. When you said your nurse's "lips were moving, but you didn't hear what she was saying", i can SOOO relate to that! The nurses just seem to forget that a lot of this info is so new and hard to grasp, but they just go on and on..

Take it slow & you will be fine!! take a notepad to each appt and take notes, sometimes that helps.
if you have any questions, there are TONS of great ladies on this thread to help you!

GL!

HEY 3rd TIME!! So cool that you & I will be cycling together again !! This time, its our turn for bfp

JUSTWANTABABY,, your fsh is just fine, and they don't tell you that it can FLUCTUATE from month to month! how AWESOME that your insurance is covering meds. that is unbelievably cool. congrats!

Kaydliz,, GL with your surgery on the 6th. just one more step closer to your goal =)

1DAY ,, my meds are also costing 5 grand. eek! I will be super-stimming because of my age too.. this probably will be my last time because I just can't afford it again. also, my antral count was 10.

AMAX - I think you made the right decision regarding your job. You will get another contract, or job in the future. This month is very important and you want to be able to say you did EVERYTHING in your power to make it work. You were honest and upfront with your boss, and I bet there will be more jobs down the road!

TANTER - im sooo proud of you for going to diabetes class. good job !! and dh went too, how awesome.

so i totally broke down and cried in the book store today. SO embarrasing. my mom wanted to pick out a couple books for a friend of mine who is due with 2 twin girls any day as a gift. and i've been doing well emotionally lately so i went with her to take a look. i was doing fine looking at the touchy feely type books or ones with just pictures. but then i read this cute little book with a father bear and baby bear and talking about all the fun things they do together. i got this overwhelming fear that may never be my husband with a child of our own and i couldn't deal with it. i tried to hold it in, and did recover quickly...sort of....but definitely had to leave the kids section of the store. what was i thinking?!

so i was thinking i'd ask the question....have any of you had a break down moment in public before because of what we're going through? please tell me i'm not the only one!

There are really tough moments......sometimes it really crushes my heart and I start to cry. my husband just hugs me and wipes the tears. All I can do is remember all that I have to be grateful for....but it's not easy sometimes when the sadness hits.
