Hi Ladies. Hope everyone is having a good day. Question for you - I've heard lots of ladies on the thread say no caffeine. Is that starting NOW? Or maybe after ET? (Wishful thinking - I bet its starting NOW, isn't it?) My RE said nothing about this. But I hear so many of you talking about it. And I've read pineapple is good for you after ET? I wonder if my RE told me all of this and I just missed it since I was clearly overwhelmed with information!

So excited to get this whole process started and finally get my calendar!!

MP is ready, I just came back from my Mock ET appointment so I can tell you how it was for me. It was hardly even 5 minutes for the whole thing. They just put a catheder in me while they were doing the u/s on my belly and then they put the catheder in again. It was slightly crampy but very fast. It was not a big deal at all. I'm not sure if you have had an IUI ever but it was even easier than that...at least for me. Good luck with yours, I hope it goes as smoothly as mine did.

Texas80, that is pretty cool that your DH got to inject his sperm for your IUI. I talked to my DH and he is not comfortable being in the room with me so he will just wait in the lobby for me for future appointments. I kinda want him in there for the egg retrieval though. I think they knock me out for it but I can't remember what my IVF coordinator told me right off hand. He has to be there for it though they said.

I hope everyone is doing good. I am not taking BCP's for my cycle. I'm only learning what they are for from your posts. My RE just said to use condoms until the procedure to make sure I don't get prego before my injections (very slim chance but just in case).

MPisready--don't worry at all about your mock transfer. i was so nervous and it was really quite simple. i had to have a full bladder for mine, and that was the worst! the actual procedure is simple, really just like having an iui. they put 2 cathaters in, to measure the depth of my uterus. i didn't watch the tv screen, normally i would, but i really just didn't want to pee all over the doctor. you'll be fine driving yourself and you will feel absolutely fine afterwards, so don't stress!! good luck!! one more step closer to our BFP's!!

Question Lupron on board!

I started my Lupron on Sunday morning. So far so good. I have tylenol with codine to handle the BCP headaches, but that will be over soon. I am a little confused on my dates right now, but I have a call into my RE to confirm. Right now they have my "start stim u/s" scheduled for 7/24, but don't have me starting stims until the 26th and then my "follicle development u/s" (which is every other day) starting on 7/29. I'm thrown off by the different start date of u/s and stims. Hopefully they will call me back soon. Other than that just getting excited!

I would start now- you don't want to be going through caffine withdrawal during that time! I have read conflicting things about pineapple so I plan to stay away from it personally.

Hello Ladies, I was gone over the weekend and have pages of posts to catch up on. WoW.

I am starting Lupron tomorrow. My schedule says between 6 - 8 am however I usually don't get up til 8:30 - 9:00. Does the exact time really matter?

PG Florida - Thanks for adding me to the August list. I am very knew to IVF and the whole message board thing. I think I had responded to the wrong person about adding my info? Ah, I hope I was in the correct thread. Ugh. Well, anyways... I am in Orlando using CRM as my RE. Are you in the central Fl area?

Talking Update on date confusion...

I called RE because of the strange schedule...very simple answer...because I am supposed to start my stims on a Sunday and the office itself will be closed (RE is always available for ER and ET 7 days a week depending on how your body reacts) they want to have my start stim u/s on the Friday before. That way if they want to adjust or change something, someone will be in the office for me to call and get my instructions from. As simple as that. So I start my stims in a little less than 2 weeks and hopefully respond crazy well to the meds and have an ER in less than 4 and a bean or 2 that decides to stick around for 9 months after that!

TracyB-I am glad to hear that your mock transfer went well. It is good to know that it does not last long.

Justwannababy-How are you? Have you heard anymore about kidney stones?

Thanks for the info on the coffee maker. I am going to stop drinking caffine when arrives. I am not happy about that at all. I love coffee and Dr. Pepper. So I had my first accupuncture today. Can I just say "ouch." I thought I was just going to have a consult, but we got stared. The very first needles were in the bottom of my feet. That hurt so bad. The rest were okay. Then he put this wires on the needles that sent a pulse into them. WEIRD! I go back on Wed. He did say that he has helped a lot of women get pg. That is good to hear. It is suppose to be 101 today.

Linz-
That is odd that the needles hurt- mine tell me that they should not hurt- and if they do the pain should subside in just a few seconds.

I have had one or two in all of my treatments that initially hurt for a few seconds.

I wonder about the wires- I will have to ask mine about that at my appointment next week. Interesting!

kate94, thanks for the ER info. I kinda thought she said I would be knocked out but I couldn't remember. Though, I do remember her saying that after the ET that I will be wheeled out in a wheel chair and I am to lay down in the back seat of the car. That will be strange, I haven't done that since I was a kid...lol.

I can't wait to start the injections or something. WOW...did I just say that?? I just mean that right now feels like I'm in the 2ww or something and if I'm giving myself injections I will feel like I am actually starting this whole thing. I can't wait to have a baby!! I can't wait for all of us to have a baby!! It's so awesome when you get to the end of a thread and see all of the BFP's and people's dreams coming true.

Take care everyone!
