yeah, we had to cough up about 20 grand last time. Good thing frozen cycles are so realtivley cheap, for when you come back. I think we'll end up at about 2-3000 is all.

But... isnt it exciting to see all the ladies on our thread and think that many will definatley end up with a little muchkin, starting in Aug? Thats so exciting. I really hope for the best for all of us. Good luck to everyone in their planning and prep. I hope all of our dr.s are playing their A game.

hi friends

i am so happy i found this site..........really i need a shoulder to lean on........i felt so lonely, but seeing ur discussions here i feel lot better.......this will be my first IVF after break of nearly 1 year from failed IUIs 2 times........

i am completely paying out of pocket...every single penny from savings, is put into this, my DH preferred the shared risk program, since he was not ready to take risk of going cycle by cycle .............and we are selected for shared risk or 80%money back........only catch is they dont give take a baby home promise, but only upto 12 weeks of gestation, later obgyn and RE said his duty is over and shared risk comes to end.........and also i wanted single blastocyst transfer(very very scared of multiples) but he said for shared risk it has to be 2....i had to agree....well i have no choice either.......hope just one healthy one sticks.

i am so scared to start this roller coaster.....i will be doing in august but may be start bcp in july..........i really really need all ur support during this time....i will pray for each one of you here......i really believe in god and left everything in his hands and just hoping for best.................a success at first try and healty single baby and wondeful pregancy and safe delivary.............pray that happens to each one of us here ..............baby dust to u all....

Wow - my RE is insisting on only putting 1 back, despite how many we have fertilized. And we're doing Shared Risk, too. It is amazing how different all these docs are! I actually would prefer two, to be honest, because I want as much chance of a baby on the first try as possible. And, I don't really want to have to do this again, ever, so if we get two at once, we're gonna be done! We get babies; babies have siblings. The End.
Maybe we should switch doctors? LOL!

You found a good spot to come for support. All of us here are on your side and will be pulling and praying and for you as you go through this!
Big hugs and lots and lots of to you -- and everyone else too!

Can I join?

Hey ladies, can I join this thread? I'm meeting with my RE on the 25th and hoping to start IVF in August/September. Actually, honestly, I'm hoping I can get knocked up before then, but I won't hold my breath. IVF is the only thing giving me hope after a failed cycle and AF's refusal to show up (how insulting!).

I also wanted to ask anyone who might know - do you always take BCPs before an IVF cycle? For how long? My insurance will start paying half for IVF in August, so I'm trying to time this perfectly so I can do it as soon as possible...

sspp...
Thank you for the prayers for the group. We have the opposite problem with our RE. You want less embies put in but your RE wants to put more. We want more embies and our RE wants less, lol. Ours will only put 2 and we want 3. Not that we are wanting triplets but we are praying for twins. My husband and I actually went to the RE wanting to be on fertility drugs so that we could increase our odds of twins. That was before we knew he couldnt have children period

ttcangel....i believe that its standard to be on BCP. From the day you start your pills, its suppose to be 5wks until your ER, 3-5 days til ET....thats the avg lenth

Hi Christeena,

I just read your signature, I had the same experience last time. They retrieved 9 eggs, we got 4 embryos, none made it to transfer. I thought I was reading my own signature!
My RE put me on Metformin to improve my egg's quality, I am also taking Royal Jelly, Fishoil, Vitamin D and prenantal vitamin.
Have you had genetic testing done? After my miscarriage I had it done, they found out that I have a genetic mutation called C667T, clotting problem.
Are you guys going to try something different this time? I am courious what you RE told you to do to improve your eggs.
We only have two more tries, I am freaking out!

Good luck to you!

Me Too

Hello ladies! I am guessing that I will be in August and not July. I have a appointment with a new RE, as ours here in town broke his hand, on the 23rd. 5 days after AF comes for her visit. So I doubt that I can catch that cycle. Both our REs will be tag teaming. The one north will take care or ER and ET, my RE here in town will take care of the rest. Meds, B/W, U/S etc.
We are really nervous as this is our first cycle. My last blood tests were taken on day 3 or 4, don't remember......FSH 5 LH 2.7 E-2 51.2
Our RE here in town said that my levels are great and should give us good results. Husband has great swimmers, the only thing is my bad tubes. So we are hoping that our first attempt will work. We have been trying for SO long. Good luck ladies.

GYPSY.. Thanks for asking about me. I will ask my RE about the Metformin for sure. We do have a new plan this time! My embryos looked bad from the second day,, lots and lots of fragmentation and the shapes of cells were funky too. They stopped dividing right away, and my RE says its VERY likely to be a sperm issue when embryos are bad in the early stages. Of course I think its me too, but he wants to try the next cycle with half my DH sperm and half donor sperm. This will tell us for SURE if its my DH sperm that has chromosome problems (which my RE suspects). If none of the embryos make it, we know its my eggs (RE doesnt seem to think this for some reason) If the donor sperm embryos make it to blast, we can decide to transfer those. This was such a tough decision, but DH is on board because he wants a family as bad as I do. I will also ask RE about genetic testing. I don't remember if we did this or not, but I am guessing NOT because I would have known.

GOOD LUCK on your next try !! I know it gets upsetting when you realize you only have so many tries before you move on to other alternatives. LOTS OF for yoU! and all of us!!

HEATHER ,, if tubes are your ONLY issue-- I would say your chances are SOOOOO GOOD !!

SSPP & TTCAngel So glad you decided to join us.. yay!

PG FLORIDA --- THANKS for organizing us, you are AWESOME!!!!!!!
