DH is on doxycycline from my stim start date (7/22) through ER and I am on them for 7 days beginning with ER. Also, i'm on medrol (anti-inflammatory) for 7 days from ER.

i was told 2 weeks but that it also depends on stats at that point. in the event i have a i'll probably err on the side of caution and wait quite a bit longer even with a green light from RE...at least like 8 weeks post ET.

Hi all! How exciting! We could all be pregnant together. I stopped taking birth control yesterday and magically () My period started today. Hope its the last one for a long time! I have to start follistim in a day and you guys are helping me calm down, because my husband is out of town and I have to do all my shots myself. I'll be able to, but I am nervous!

Good luck everyone!

Oh yeah, to the human voodoo doll! Wow! You are so tough! I see water pouring out of you if you drink something.

Hello ladies! Is it too late to join the group? I am new to this site and not really sure how it works

I am scheduled to start Lupron 8/3 and targeted to begin stims 8/16. This is my first IVF cycle....very nervous and hoping to find someone who will start stims around the same time as me.

Good luck to you all!

Okay everyone, talk me down, talk me down. I just got my progesterone via FedEx, and the needles are HUGE and they are scary, and I actually threw up. I am not scared of needles, but are you kidding?

Someone tell me that it's not unbearable, and that I won't puncture an organ. Could be the Lupron talking, but I am super nervous.

Hi ladies. I will stim with menopur and bravelle (on August 3rd). I know one of them - can't remember which one right now - is supposed to burn. So will warming it before I inject help? Will that be a problem though since I was told to keep it in the frige? Or maybe that's just the lupron??? So much to learn...

LOL! I thought the same thing when I saw the needles. This is all new to me, too. I'm just trying to take it one step at a time. I figure there are so many strong women who have done this before us and I just have to believe we can do it too! Let's think positive! Lord knows I will be scared out of my mind, but I'm actually trying NOT to focus on the PIO just yet. One step at a time. Plus, I have heard a few women say they weren't that bad. Don't know if they were just trying to make me feel better or not, but I'll just HOPE for the best!!

hey ...that is exactly how i felt when i saw the syringes .. actually called the nurse to confirm the gauge and length of the needles .. thought she had made a mistake...
don't worry .. iam sure we will be just fine .. and when we get to the goal .. everything will feel worth it!!!
they advise using a warm pad on ur behind after the shot .. apparently takes the sting away ... also PIO is progesterone in OIL, if u hold the syringe in ur hands for a bit so it warms up some .. the oil gets less viscous and so injection easier and less painful ...
however, DO NOT use ice packs to numb ur behind prior to the injection coz it interferes with the absorption of progesterone

Evan--just wanted to let you know not to worry about the PIO shots. My RE gave me a choice of that which was cheaper or the vaginal suppositories (they were more but no shot) and my nurse said it did the same thing-so don't worry but ask your nurse if you want to make sure.

As for antibiotics-DH and I took a round several months ago when we started IUIs but for this I just have an antibiotic to take before ER (I think-but they only sent 2 pills so its not much which is good b/c the one they sent makes me sick but I am not truely allegic so I will take it but obviously they did not look at my chart-oh well won't kill me)

One day of BCP down-everyone was talking about headaches, did it take a few days for that to come on?? Just curious-nothing yet not that I am complaining. I got my meds today!! Wow I knew it was a lot but I think I need to bring out a basket to hold and organize everything!! Only my Follistim needs refrigerated thats great b/c my frig is not that big!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Okay, so Ive started the Follistim, and I swear this layer of fat on my belly must have a purpose. I havent had any problems yet... no burning, no bruising, nothing.

Ladies, I read a few of your siggies, and saw supplements such as royal jelly etc. I just read up on this today, and realize its probably too late for me to start. Is there anything else I can add into my routine that it wouldnt be too late to start?

I did all my IUIs at Wilford Hall. Due to the fact that DH has SCO, we have to use DS and Wilford Hall has a policy of no donor gametes for IVF, so we couldn't do IVF there and had to wait until we were closer to Walter Reed to pursue IVF. It's been almost 5 years and I'm still a little bitter since that cost me that time and probably some egg quality...I would probably be less bitter if they didn't have a wonderful article about the surrogacy that they did...they were never able to explain to me how it was ok to do a surrogacy and not DS.

I'm interested in the differences that each of the clinics does with their protocol. From what I've seen, I think that Walter Reed does mostly Microdose Lupron, and it seems like you are on the Long Lupron protocol...is that pretty much standard with you? We don't do a lot of extras with the program...for example we only take antibiotics and steroids between ER and ET, whereas some programs have the ladies taking those for weeks. There are also some programs that do a progesterone check in the middle of an IVF cycle...WR doesn't do that, even though I break out in a rash from the progesterone (no matter what form).
