Btw, ms610, to answer your question, I'm going to be doing acupuncture because I hear that definitely increases your chances if you do it right before and after the ET. I'm also going to buck it up for my IVF cycle, and actually give up sugar. Hell, I might even go all organic! And I'll continue staying away from caffeine altogether and alcohol during the 2ww. I'm also going to continue to take Royal Jelly and do moderate exercise to get the blood flowing to my womanly bits. I want this to work the first time, ******! Really looking forward to getting started...Is it August yet??!

One more thing, ms610, I was just reading another thread where the women were talking about pinapple (including the core) from ER through a few days past ET because it apparently helps with implantation. I guess I'll add that to my list of things to do!

TTCangel34---Are you giving up sugar for weight reasons or is sugar bad during IVF??? I am a vegetarian, so carbs are a pretty big part of my diet. Thanks for the info on pineapple, I read the thread........very interesting. Pineapple and grape juice it is going to be for me!!! Marie

One more question.........is anyone going to be using Prometrium vaginal suppositories during their cycle or have you used them??? I used Endometrin last time. I have a new RE this cycle and he uses Prometrium. I am fine with it, except unlike Endometrin, it doesn't have an applicator. I just can't imagine using it 3 times a day and no applicator. I am probably overreacting, but just need some advice on this one.

Hi ladies, I am also looking forward to an end of summer IVF cycle Aug-Sep. Just switched REs after 4 failed IVF cycles..my previous RE just didn't have any answers and I really felt like I was just being shuffled around. In the mean time, my new RE suggested the sperm fragmentation test for my husband and suggested high dose antioxidants for approximately 2 months. Wishing all of us babies in 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ooh, antioxidants! One more thing to add to DH's list of required supplements (he's currently taking L-arginine, L-carnitine, acetyl-something, vitamin c, Royal Jelly, and drinking one cup of coffee per day - poor guy).

ms610 - the sugar thing isn't for weight (even though I could definitely lose a few - I'm up 12 lbs since January! Eek.) And I haven't heard that it lessens your chances with IVF, so don't panic if you can't do it. I just know that refined sugar isn't good for me and I want my body to be the optimal environment for little Sprout, so at least for the IVF cycle, I'm gonna bite the bullet and do what I can to be as healthy as possible. Oh yeah, I might've forgotten to mention this, but I'm also starting a yoga for fertility DVD tomorrow. I'm hoping it'll be close to or as much of a stress reliever as acupuncture but at a much cheaper cost.

As for the Prometrium vaginal suppositories, I don't know if you've received them yet, but they're actually pills that you can ingest (apparently the side effects are really bad when you take them orally). So you're using your finger to stick a little pill up the hooha. I did it twice a day and I thought that it was fairly disgusting, but tolerable. I'd definitely suggest using pantyliners though, because you'll get a decent amount of yellow discharge. Other than the that not-so-fresh feeling and a headache on the first couple days, my only other real side effect was a pretty persistant back ache.

Anyway, I'd love to hear what others are planning to do to get their bodies ready...

Can I join you? This is my very first post to any infertility forum, I hope I'm in the right thread. It's a little confusing to know if I should be in the July or August thread, as the process starts so far in advance of the procedures!

I went through my first IVF cycle in Apr/May and reading through what others were going through helped me a lot. So here I am...

We expect to be starting our 2nd IVF cycle any week now. Just waiting for ... So I think we'll be at the point of ER and ET in early to mid-August.

I am just waiting for this week so i can begin bcp. My stim dates are scheduled to begin Aug 1,2 or 3.

I have totally given up caffeine. added the rj/bp and dhea. Trying hard to lower my intake of refined sugar, but giving up my morning & afternoon double latte was the HARDEST!! I didn't do that first go around and I have been reading that it can affect egg quality. My eggs are 40 this year, so i am trying to do things to improve my odds.

Hello all I am new to this forum. DH and I have been TTC for over 3 years now. I have had the following (along with a Dx of PCOS):

8 Rounds of Clomid all
3 IUIs all (03/08, 04/08, 05/08)
1 IVF (10/08)

I am currently waiting for AF to start so that my RE can put me on BCP and "take control of my cycle". This needs to happen by June 25th in order to keep my August IVF date. If not I will have IVF in September. I never thought I would be praying for AF! So please all send AF vibes my way.
