Thanks

Tanter602 - Loved your "Being Thankful" post. Keep up that positive thinking!! It really helps to think of all the things we can be grateful for when we start to feel so low.

As for your irregular pap - did you and your DH happen to have "relations" in the days leading up to your pap? The only time I've ever had an irr. pap is when that has happened. Something about the sperm causing extra white blood cells or something...just a thought.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my CM question. No doubt my body is thrown off by the last IVF cycle. It is fun to daydream about what it could mean, but I never like to get my hopes up, there have been so many disappointments in the past.

So, what cycle day are people on?

If I don't see by this weekend I think I'll call and ask to see if I can't get things moving. At least a blood test to see if I ovulated yet.

I'm grateful to have this newfound group of people who "get me". After almost 3 years of going through IF, I've never had a friend who can relate! Thank you!!!

Good morning everyone! I was so happy to catch up on all the posts - the squeaky bed made me chuckle.

I'm glad to report that AF arrived this week - on Wednesday...on schedule...like clockwork... exacly 28 days from last month. (Um, I'm happy for AF?!) I'm heading in this morning for my day 3 u/s and b/w to get this process started. I wonder when I'll start bcps -- let's hope they can at least give me a sample and I don't have to make another trip to CVS. I have quite a few questions about IVF that I've come up with in the last few weeks, so I'm eager to get there!

Oh, and I also read A Few Good Eggs. It wasn't my favorite b/c I sort of felt like I was being lectured. (hard to explain - I just don't like books that have that feel). And I didn't like how one woman was always saying something like "it was so hard for me b/c I only have like 1% body fat" or something to that effect. I don't need to hear about how it's so hard to be skinny!!!

But I would totally recommend "The Conception Chronicles." By far, the funniest book on IF. Check it out- you'll be laughing out loud. I've had it near my nightstand for over a year and I still flip through various areas for reference or a chuckle!!!

Warning: Includes TMI

Hi my fellow fertility-challenged friends! I took yesterday off of work so I was only able to briefly check in to see what's been going on here (funny how I have so much more time to hang out here when I'm at work...). Anyway, that brief time was enough for me to read some great suggestions for BDing while my MIL is staying with us (dangerously close to my squeeky bed days before I ovulate). Thank you so much! Unfortunately, she's not hard of hearing since she had my DH when she was really young so she's just over 50 now, and I didn't have time to put together some music for her (although, the thought of me saying, okay, we've gotta hit the hay, listen to this NOW! cracked me up). And then there was the suggestion that I reminisce to when BDing wasn't BDing, it was doing something I wasn't supposed to be doing at my parents house. I really liked that idea and thought it could add a level of excitement to our super-quiet BD session, so I was looking forward to a quick and lusty encounter. The time was already picked - we're scheduled to BD every 1.5 days in my fertile period (I know, that's so hot), so the deed was to be done this morning. So at 5 am, I wake up, take my temp, insert some Preseed, put my legs over my head to make sure that Preseed covers my cervix, then tap DH and say s*xily, "You have to do me now." We turned sideways on the bed (that lessens the squeeking), and it was squeek...squeek...squeek...squeeksqueeksqueek, and it was done. I just couldn't bring myself to put in any more effort.

I have to say, I really hate TTC lovin. *sigh*

Anyway, I'll try to catch up with you guys:

amax - I'm on cd13, and definitely gripping tightly to the notion that perhaps, just perhaps, I'll get pregnant from sex. An antiquated notion, I know, but stranger things have happened. And yeah, we get you, girl.

Amy - hooray for the competent RE that responds to emails!!!

Winnie - I hope AF comes soon for you! Last month I knew I wasn't pregnant but AF refused to come. It's a horrible place to be, because at least with a new cycle, there's a new hope. She's there when you don't want her, and not there when you do. What a jerk.

Oh! I tried the Yoga for Fertility and I really liked it! I didn't realize how tense I've become from all of this... Speaking of which Tanter, I loved your perspective on this decaf-sugar-free existance. I'll try to remember that the prize is always worth the rocky ride.

Justwantababy - I'd love to hear what your eating plan is going to be. Personally, I've been hitting the mac 'n cheese a little too hard. As for IVF, luckily, my insurance will pay half and we've saved the rest. My fertility clinic had a link to financing though, so in case you want to look at it, here it is: Health One Financial - Health One Financial

PG_Florida - "The Conception Chronicles" sounds great! Thanks for the suggestion - I could definitely use a laugh or twenty. I feel like I'm slowly turning into bitter-irritable lady...

Okay, I think I'm caught up now! Sorry if I missed anyone!

TTCAngel34--Thanks for my morning chuckle, I am still laughing. I have heard of Preseed, but never used it. I may try that this month. Oh how nice it would be to conceive the month before I was suppose to do IVF.........

Unhappy So long ladies...

So, the abnormal pap did me in, ladies.

I won't be joining you for an August conception. I have to wait to get the results back from my colposcopy, and hope and pray that those results are normal. If they are, I can (maybe? hopefully?) cycle in September.

I'm really bummed. I had already picked up my prescription of BCPs. :-(

This waiting game is so hard, and just when I clear one hurdle, it seems, something else crops up. I started the IF process in December, after 9 months of TTC naturally. In March we had our failed IUI. And then we started this IVF process and thought we'd be ready to go in two months tops. So this is really disappointing. Not to mention we have a major vacation planned in September. I don't even know if we should continue planning it now! Ugh!!!!!!

And, this means I'll have to start all over again with a new crop of CBs, and that is really sad. I was just getting to know some of you a little more, and even though this is all anonymous and virtual, it is still weird to start up new relationships with totally new groups of women over and over. I was hoping to be with you all through the bitter (or ecstatic!) end. Oh well.

And another sad part is, I had just gotten the word from my ob/gyn that his entire practice was planning to tell the RE that they all thought it was fine for me to go ahead with the IVF, even with my sugars slightly elevated.

Oh well. I'll still for all of you, and hope to see a ton of BFPs coming in in late August early September.
to all!

Sorry to hear Tanter....

So it’s official, we are going to cycle with my own oldie eggies! I posted about my donor egg investigation here:
http://forums.fertilitycommunity.com/donor-issues-egg-sperm/271567-ivf-cycle-donor-eggs-674.html

I’m excited to be on track and am going to concentrate my efforts on staying positive and taking good care of myself. Thanks for the book suggestion and the squeaking bed chronicles! Too funny. I think this is going to be a fun group and are you all as excited as I am!!!!???? I can hardly contain myself!

Oh Tanter, it's just one thing after another, isn't it? That really sucks. I really hope everything works out for you. And, if it makes you feel any better, after reading everyone's posts as to IVF timing, I think I'm going to be cutting it close to stay in this group. It'll probably end up being late August or early September that I do the transfer, but I don't want to move to the September group. I'm sure they're a fine bunch of women, but they're no August IVF group. Anyway, I understand if you feel you need to go, but perhaps you should just hang around until you know for sure (and even then you should still hang around!!).

1dayatatime - I'd be excited about IVF, but I'm fully planning to get pregnant this cycle! I'm sure we were just using the wrong positions the last 20 or so cycles...

Justwantababy - I was just venturing into other threads, and found a fertility study in NY that will pay for IVF. It looks like you're in PA so this might not be that long of a drive for you - might be worth looking into!! IVF Clinical Trial with cost of treatment included

I took some break from the boards too. I totally understand why you needed it to do that.
I went to see another RE, she is specialized in genetic immunology, my doctor recommended it because of our embryos' quality. She put me on Metformin (diabetes medicine but also great for PCOS and to improve egg quality). I have to be on it for three months and then we try In-vitro again in August. It is kind of nice to take a break, I want to enjoy this summer and relax, it is good not to worry about my next shot or my follicles, U/S, blood work etc...the otherhand I can't wait to start it again!
Hopefully August is going to be the one for us and we meet again on the pregnancy board .

TANTER !! uggh, im so sorry they are delaying your ivf cycle.. Just when they decided your sugar being a little high was ok. I think u should hang with us anyway,, we will ALL be here in september toooo!! please stay.

Winnie - sorry about the prometrium side effects, how annoying.. did u get AF yet?

AMAX - im on day 27 and usually i have a 26 day cycle, so im a little out of whack and geeee, i wonder why? lol. round one did me in. My cycle will never be the same again , I am guessing.

PG FLORIDA - How did your 3 day testing go today? What kind of questions did u have for your RE? (if i may be so bold to ask) I love new questions to ask.

ANGEL -- ok, so maybe the ipod idea was kinda ridiculous, but at this point in our lives, who cares about being normal!!!! i was secretly wishing i had a squeeky bed last night. do u think someone might have one for sale on craigs list for my spare room? hmm.

1dayatatime - awesome choice on your own eggs!! I know it sucks to go broke via IVF, but I fully admire your decision. If it makes u feel any better, im in debt to my eyeballs.

HUGGGS to all my cycle sisters {{{}}}}

It's really great to see people moving along with Day 3 bw, bcps, etc... August will be here soon!!

It's looking like I might get bumped to Sept, or maybe even August!! I won't know more until my massive amts of bw come back in 2-3 weeks. But, I'm holding out hope that I can stay in August!!

Quick Question: I had to go to a separate lab to get about 30 vials of blood for nearly every test in the book. There was only one woman there, and she said, "are you sure you want all of these?". Ummm.. yes!! And then when I went in for her to take my blood she said, "ok, I think I have everything right. I don't do a lot of these tests, but I think we're ok". So, on a scale from 1-10, how nervous do I need to be?? I would hate for her to pull the wrong vial and have the incorrect tests done. I know she means well, but I'm starting to think I should get another Rx for a second round of bw. Too paranoid?? Maybe...

Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm a newbie for IVF

Hello ladies,
I just noticed that there is an early thread for the August IVF's. Well I am currently on IUI #3 set to be next week some time. If by some chance the IUI doesn't work I have arranged to start IVF for August. Today I set up my first appointment for meeting the coordinators that will be walking me through it all (if needed, still praying for IUI to give me a ). Seems a little bit scary to me but I'm willing to do anything to have a baby so I guess I'm all signed up for it now.

I'm so thankful for you ladies and for this forum. It's very comforting to have others that are going through the same thing at about the same time. Thanks for being here ladies! I guess we'll see after my 2ww after the IUI if I will be joining you all for sure.

Good luck to you all with your IVF's I hope you all have a very very soon!

thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and all the advice. i'm anxious about this whole process. i don't know why, i've gone through just about everything else there is to go through, so i'm trying to relax. i think knowing that this could be our last shot at having a baby of our own stresses me out a little bit. i just need to remember, what will be, will be, and it's out of my hands. that's not good for me....i like to be in control!!

someone mentioned fertility yoga? where'd you find that? i'm willing to do just about anything the next couple months. i've even been eating lots and lots of veggies the last few days. yuck!

came today, so my re is putting me on bcp i guess for at least a cycle until i can start injections. i see that many of you are trying the old fashioned way, are you not on bc before your ivf? my office only does retrievals on certain days of the month, so i guess they need to get us all on the same cycle.

TTCangel 34-thanks for the financial info, i'm definitely going to take a look at that!

everyone enjoy your weekend! for us all!!
