Each brand detects different levels of hcg. General rule of thumb seems to be that the more expensive the test, the lower the level it will detect. Often the cheaper ones won't detect anything lower than 50 and I've seen girls on the forum with positive betas with lower numbers and negative hpt's! Check the boxes or the manufacturer's website to see if they publish the levels it detects.

Good luck!

Clearblue digital early response detects 25. Those are what I used after I got a positive on the equate (walmart) early tests (they detect 20). Amybeth is right, most tests pick up 50 unless they are the "5 days before you missed your period" tests. Those are usually 20-25. I definitely think it's a good sign

congrats

I started POAS 2 days before my beta and also tested the morning of my beta - all were BFN. I was supposedly using a test that would pick up 25.

Sounds like you a pregnant - congratulations.

If you were worried the whole time with IVF, just wait - you will be really worried for the pregnancy portion.

If you are looking for ways to stay grounded and calm, I would suggest pre-natal yoga, meditation, and acupuncture.

Clear blue is a very sensative test. They actually guarantee to pick up at 25, but they can go much lower, some as low as 6.25. The most sensative test is First Response Gold which has consistently picked up below 10 but guarantees accuracy at 25. If you're any thing like me, you will now run to the store and drop fifteen bucks on a first response...but be sure it's the GOLD And congrats!

Heart hi igloo!!

how are you? i sent a PM to you a couple of weeks ago. where are you with things now? i can sorta tell by your siggy but i would like to learn more about the egg donar process. if you have already posted this then tell me where to find it so you don't have to repeat yourself...for those like me are lagging behind in the info.

my husband and i are moving forward with IVF with ICSI...i explained all this in the PM. anyway, i was interested to hear about your experience.

on june 2 i meet with a new RE who has a reputation for being aggressive. i will consult with him to determine if my DH's motility and morhpology issue can be bipassed with this procedure or if my DH will have a varococele repair and take proxeed vitamins. the concern we have is....will the repair make that much of a difference? we want to avoid having the surgery because they say that we will not see the results for 3-6 months and i am actually thinking that it is more like 9. but then i worry if we don't have that repaired will it fail??? ooohhh so many worries. we are trying to make the best decision. i will hear the dr out and get a feel for his ideas etc..and then i will mull it over and decide. from the urologist standpoint he recommned 3 options...will tell you later if you are interested. either way, we are doing IVF and just need find out when

can't wait to hear from you!! have you heard from WGA? how is she doing?

hope to hear from you soon
