Smile Good Morning and Welcome

Christin, Merryx and Mysilloldbear! We are so glad to have you here! Wow a variety of stories and experiences - that is so great!

Merryx - Mysillyoldbear and I are waiting until Sept because of other conditions that cause us to be on meds for a while to get things back in order. So I do not think you are missing anything. I will start my meds in Aug for an early Sept retrieval. I am not sure of the exact dates yet.

Mysillyoldbear - I was on lupron for 6 months about 6 years ago for endo treatment. I am a huge fan of doctors and drugs to help people - but that was an awful 6 months. I am not sure of your dosage, but I was chemically sterile for 6 months to get my endo under control so they could do surgery. It was like I went through menopause on a super scale. I could not remember anything - and I am one of the more organized, list makers I know - I have a great memory probably because I write a lot down - so I commit it to memory. I was totally lost those six months. I had a few night sweats as well - but the craziest thing was I would start sweating every time I ate! It was crazy! Good luck to you! We are here for you in whatever mood you are in that day! We will love you no matter what!!!

Christin - it will be a nice relaxing break for you in the summer. I am bascially doing the same thing. My doc said one or two months on the drug I am on - and I have decided to do 2 months so I could have a bit more relaxing summer with my DD and DH and save a bit more money up for Sept. I did not want to rush around during this time - so I am just taking it easy, not killing myself for the summer and starting over in Aug / Sept.

Merryx - Congrats to you and your partner for taking this next step. You are right on time - and going to do fine! My RE has set schedules where she works to get all IVF patients on the same schedule for a week / 10 days of ER and ET each month or so. She does not have an Aug cycle - probably to accomodate vactaions and kids going back to school - so that is why the Sept date for me. I will miss the July due to my other med schedule and then jump into the Sept timing. My advice - trust your gut / heart! Ask a lot of questions and do not be afraid to question anything you do not understand. Some ladies find it a bit overwhelming at first - so many meds, shots, drugs, appointments, etc. Its really not that bad once you get a routine down! We are here to help you all way if you want to hang around this thread!!!

Have a great day everyone!

--Kirsten

Kirsten- same here. I want to go into my cycle relaxed and ready!!

Merryx- im just doing it in Sept because its the end of the summer and I dont want to cycle in the summer. My RE also groups everyone together so we all have our retrievals the same week and transfers..easier for the office. I'll start my meds in Aug and have an early Sept retrieval/transfer.

Hello Ladies! Thank you for all the warm welcomes!

Kristen, you made me laugh! I don't know what dose I am on for lupron, but the nurse said it is a pretty high dose and to prepare for the side affects. So far so good. I had horrible hot flashes on clomid, so I am prepared for those. I have been getting the headaches, and I don't know if my memory is affected or not. I just don't remember! I have been having mood swings. Story of my life! I had horrible mood swings on clomid too. My poor DH. The only reason I am on the lupron is because of my ovaries. I had surgery again in Nov for endo, and it is so bad lupron won't help me. We are just trying to shrink some large cysts to improve my chances of IVF. I didn't want to do lupron. I have dug my heels in for 10 years refusing it. And now here I am. Oh well.

I just wish September would hurry up and get here!

Someone asked where we are located. I think I remember that question! (wow, maybe I am having memory issues!) Anyway, I am in Washington. It is beautiful and sunny here right now! I wish I wasn't stuck in an office!

Hope everyone is well! I am looking forward to getting to know all of you!

I live just north of Portland. I love the NW... most of the time! I grew up in Southern California, and really miss the sunshine! It is about time we have some decent weather here. It has been pretty bad the last few years! They say you get used to the rain... I have lived here for 15 years and I am still waiting!

Hey girls!

I'm looking at September or October for my first IVF.

I did five cycles of Clomid + HCG trigger + IUI. I only actually got to the IUI three of those cycles, all BFN.

I just got a BFN from my Follistim + HCG + IUI cycle. It was expensive and with my insurance coverage IVF won't be too much more. We need to take a break to save a little money, so September or October is looking like our target. I'm starting BCPs on Sunday to give my poor little ovaries a rest.

I'm hoping I can start in September so I can cycle with you girls.

Nicole! It's nice to see a familiar face! Even though I wish we both already had our BFPs and weren't here... lol!

Getting quite a group together! I'm excited!

The IVF nurse called me yesterday. Looks like I'll be stimming on Gonal F and Menopur. I'm a slow repsonder so I'm sure I'll be taking pretty large doses.

I'm a little nervous!
