Great!!! I am so excited to get things rolling!

My dh and I have known for over 12 years that we have to do ivf/icsi for us to conceive. To make a long story short, we have finally decided to proceed. Our recent history is in my signature, so I don't have to bore y'all with the details.

My only hold-up is that I want/have to lose down to 125 lbs, before I will cycle.

Also, we are going out-of-town for treatment. We have no familial support, so no one knows when and where things will take place. It is really sad!

Sending everyone !!!

I have 12lbs to loose before Im ready to cycle as well.

Both times I have gotten preg naturally have been when I lost about 40lbs ...my RE says its a coincidence ...but I think it plays a part. So 12 more pounds to go and I'll be ready.

What herbs are you taking?

Im going to start acupuncture next month. I find it really relaxing.

Wanting to join.....

Hi ladies.....I was hoping to join this thread. Unfortunately I got my today from our IUI so now I'll be back to IVF again in September. I wanted a few months off to go on vacation and enjoy the summer before the hell starts again with the shots. I know we are a few months out but I wanted to get in b/c I feel so lost and so sad with our 3rd negative. I told my DH that I feel like a failure and I hate feeling that way. I found out today that a good friend I used to work with is 17 weeks pregnant and as much as I'm happy for her, I'm still a little jealous. People have NO CLUE how lucky they are to get pregnant.....and those of us who have to work so hard and spend so much $$$ to get pregnant. Anyway - I'm having my pity party today and that's it, I don't like to be sad and down so hopefully tomorrow will be better.

My next steps will be to continue my acupuncture treatments 2x/week and take the herbs they are giving me. She said that I needed 3-4 months of treatment to help with the quality of eggs so we'll see. I'll ask her about the royal jelly and bee pollen - can't hurt right? I too will also start getting my fat butt to the gym again and get into better shape.

Thanks for letting me join and walk this journey with you. I really appreciate it and need this site to help me stay sane!!

Have a great day everyone and take care....

Kim

Kim, I'm so, so, so, so sorry I would say i know how disappointed you feel, but i only have an inkling. have a pity party for as long as you want you definitely deserve it. i know someone who is in her 40's who failed with ivf a few times and then found some holisitc doctor who told she would be pregnant in 6 months, and she was!!!!! so your plan sounds like a good one, if you want the name of this person ill get it for you, although i think its in washington dc. maybe youll be joining our thread in a few months????? im sad for you tonight, so is my DH, and seriously, get your job to send you here and we'll go out for our drink!!!!!!!!!!!! you will be in my throughts and prayers, and somehow, someday you will have your baby, i know it!!!!!!!! xoxoxo Jami

ps-you are NOT a failure, not even CLOSE!!!!!!!!! the jealousy is totally normal we have all been there, make a voodoo doll if it helps. but don't be too hard on yourself bc you'll do damage and thats not good. you need to take good care of yourself and come to us for positivity. you can ALWAYS reach me and us on here!!!!

Smile Good Morning Everyone!

michellern, mom2bntexas and paisleygirl! Its so nice to have you aboard! It sounds like you are brining a lot of experience and passion to this group - that is so great! We are all here for you!

No real update on me right now. Still on BCP and Letrozole and have an appt on July 2 with the doc. I pretty know they are going to tell me (from the last tests) that I have a much lower chance of sucess now due to my very high FSH. I am trying to research my options, but I am not very hopeful. Also, DH and I are not sure we can afford another round. We are doing things now that are covered by insurance - so we are still moving ahead until we figure out we have to stop.

My mom has offered a bit of money - but I do not want to waste it if the chances are not good. We all live in MI now - and things are very tight all over here. Its like the world around us is turning into a ghost town before out eyes. Lots of houses are up for sale, in foreclosure or just abadoned in our neighborhood. In neighborhoods all over. Everyday someone else we know loses a job. Its hard not to be depressed her.

I still have a job (thank god!) and my husbands business is still alive, although he has not been able to take a paycheck in over a year - he is still making all his bill and paying his employee. He had to lay the other one off a few months ago.

I have to apologize to you guys. I started this thread and was looking forward to a wonderful summer and some much activity near the fall and all kinds of BFPs for all of us. Now, I am finding it harder and harder just to look at this every couple of days. I just wish none of us had to go through this.

Here is the latest calendar I have. Please send me your updates and I will do my best to get them out there as fast as possible. I am this works out for all of us! We all deserve it! to everyone! Hope you all are having a great summer so far!!!! Its finally warm in MI.

I think I am all caught up on your stories!
Kirsten, good luck tomorrow!

I will be trying for number 2 in September. I had my day 3 labs on Friday, June 26, they were all normal, and I started BCP on Sunday, June 28. I will go for my sonohystogram on July 21 and then will know my date for sure, but ER some time around the first week in Sept.

For those of you trying for number 1, I am here to help! I have done IVF 3x to get my little guy (who is one today) so I know what you are going through.

I also am here to answer questions since I have done this a few times.

Good luck to all of us, and I hope we see alot of 's!

hey ladies! AF is here today so baseline u/s is tomorow morning...we moved up a month. i should get my calendar tomorrow!

we are thinking of trying something different this time. The only reason we are doing ivf this year is because my ins will cover it at 100% including meds because we met our out of pocket max. Next year it will be too expensive for us. So to maxmize this year we think we should freeze any embryo's that make it to day 5 w/out doing any transfer. Then do a repeat ivf in Nov and transfer 1-2 embryos and freeze all the rest that make it to day 5. Maybe we can get 3-4 day 5 frosties and try a FET later on if need be.

I still need to talk to my RE though and see what he thinks..hopefully he lets us do it.

If we dont get any that make it to day 5 then they probably wouldnt of made a baby anyways and I'll know that much sooner. Maybe this way we can get a few frosties to put back for another sibling.

Joining the group

Hello everyone, I had a BNF in june, I am taking a break this summer and will try again in September. I have an appointment with RE on 13 July and I am looking forward to hear about his plan for IVF 2. Although my first did not work, I know that there is still hope.

I was in the June IVF thread and found it very helpful. I am happy to join a new group!

For those who are at their first attemp, do not worry too much about it, it was not as bad as I was fearing. We just went one step at the time and on the way we found the strenght to carry on. DH was a very good nurse, doing all the injections. We really shared that experience together. When I got the BFN I was so disappointed and sad but then I got a glass of my favorite wine and made a toast for our futur success. Life must go on.

After spending 2 months on meds and stressing about my first attempt, I am so happy to be having a break and be able to plan my summer. I can re-possess my body and my mind!!!

I wish you all the bests for the summer and I will continue to check this thread in the next few weeks then I will be gone in vacation for 4 weeks in August!!!!

Ciao!!!!!!!!
Mary

Hello Everyone. I was thinking of joining you guys. We had a very painful and long miscarriage in December last year, and are finally ready to get moving again. I don't like cycling in the heat/humidity so September it is. I will start BCP's in August and start start Stims late August early Sept. Don't have my official schedule yet, but am happy to be moving in the right direction again. Look forward to talking with you all....

I was on a new Sept thread and was told this one was already started...

I start b/c with AF in August and start stims in Sept. Looks like we have a lot of different schedules on this thread, but we're all in this together!

Cathie – Can’t believe how much you’ve gone through since this thread started! Keep hanging in there!

Mysillyoldbear – How’s the traveling going? Any more side effects from the Lupron? My hands used to itch and swell out of no where… I couldn’t wear any rings, the RE said that reaction was strange, but it stopped as soon as I stopped the Lupron. And those headaches!! Good luck!

Kristen –Sounds like you have a plan of action!! I hope all works out for you! Hang in there!! Keep us posted on the plan!

Michelle – I’m sorry you have no family support… that’s what we’re here for!!!

Dizzy – praying for a brother or sister for Sam

Mom2b – So sorry your IUI didn’t work out! I throw myself pity parties too, we all need time to grieve after getting that news. This month is our month , ladies!!

Christin – 100% coverage!!! That’s great news!!!

Mary – So sorry for your BFN! You’re a very positive person… September is it for us!

Chabby – So so sorry about your m/c. Lots of hugs to you!

Sorry to who I missed… I just started up with this thread and there was a lot going on. and to all!!!

I did not have insurance coverage for my first IVF cycle. The added stress is horrible! I am blessed now to have coverage, but wanted to share some short cuts I learned to make paying out of pocket just a little easier... I asked my RE if there was anything he could do to help with the cost. He ended up giving me 20% off each visit (could not discount the ER or the ET though). Every day I would go in, I would ask the office if they had any ‘donated meds’. I ended up getting ALL my meds free through my RE office!!! (now that I have coverage, I donate all my unused meds back to the office for others in need) I also opened a credit card with a reward. I chose an airlines card, but I’ve known others to choose cash back cards, Disney cards… might as well get something back from all this money you’re spending.
Just a few ideas I thought may help. I really hope this journey is a successful one for all of us!
