Sept 2009 IVF

It may be a bit early - but I am planning on a Sept IVF cycle - and was wondering if anyone else was on the same schedule?

Hope to hear from you all soon!!!

Kirsten
_________________________________________________
Me -38 - endo, myomectomy, unexplained IF
DH - 38 - normal everything ( relative to baby making!)

Have one beautiful daughter, Sienna Rain, 2.5 years old - conceived naturally

Our furbabies - 2 dogs and 5 cats

TTC since 12/06 (basically 3 months after Sienna born)
Tried Clomid cycles - early spring and summer 08
Tried Clomid / Gonal F cycle Nov 08
Waited to take more action until after 1/09 because of starting new insurance plan

Me - bariatric surgery 01, lapro surgeries for endo - 5 of them, myomectomy, csection, tummy tuck, and obstructed bowel 3-08 - so a lot of opening to my abdominal cavity - I am very prone to adhesions - so doc thinks (without proving it = surgery) the baby parts could be out of alignment and eggs are never meeting the sperm normally

So, IVF is our best option at this time to make sure the needed parts meet up and get where they need to be

IVF #1
Stims in April 09
May 5-7 estimated ER
Converted to IUI at end due to low follicle count
IUI =

IVF #2
Sep 09 timeframe
May 20 2009 started BCP and Letrozol

Smile Hello and Welcome!

Cahtie - Hello again! I am so glad you are here as well!

md08!!! This is my second time trying IVF - first time was converted to an IUI at the last minute. So I will be experiencing many of the same things with you for the first time!

If you will let me - I will try to be the best moderator for this thread! When its time, we can start tracking our schedules together!

Here is what I know so far (and what I saw another thread do - and it was wonderful!! (Thanks to Jena - if she ever looks here!!):

BCP
Kirsten - May 20 (2 months BCP and Letrozole)

Lupron
Kirsten - Microdose - Start TBD

Stims

ER

Transfer / FET

Needs a Hug

TELL ME - what you think of this approach to keeping track of all of us in the future!!! You can update it and send it back to me - or just tell me and I will add your names next time!

I am so glad you guys are here with me!!

Well, we thought I was going to be in the June thread... nope... then August... nope.... but I will be ready for September! So I am going to join this group!

I am on Lupron for 3 months to try to get my ovaries to rest a little bit. They are a mess! Anyway, I had my first injection this morning... and let me tell you! That was scary. I am not scared of needles, but this was the biggest needle I have ever seen! I thought I was going to pass out when I saw it! I even asked if she was sure she had the right needle... she said it is the biggest one they use! Thanks!

But I survived.... Now waiting for the side effects! She said they are a doozy! So hope you ladies are prepared for me! I may be a mess for the next few months!!!

Hope you dont mind me joining. My situation is a little different.

I have a dx of Occult Ovarian Failure (which means it looks good on the outside but inside its crap) but mostly the drs I have seen say Im a "Puzzle" I respond great to meds usually 20 plus mature follies but they have only ever gotten 10 eggs then usually 8-9 are mature, great fertlization with ICSI but when it comes to growing my embies dont do so well..lots of fragmentation and slow growth...which is how they came up with the poor egg quality.

We tried 3 IUI's and 2 IVFs all BFN. We were moving on to Embryo Adoption when I got pregnant with my son. the month before my BFP a 3rd Opinion doctor told me my chances were less than 1% of ever becoming pregnant naturally.

We have been advised that if we want more children we should try again soon. We were going to try an IUI this month but I got strep. So we are taking the summer off and doing our 3rd IVF attempt in September. We decided we dont want to get burnt out on IUI's and BFN's and then move on to ivf, we would rather just be fresh and relaxed for the IVF attempt. My RE has also told me he recently purchased new incubators and patients with poor embryo growth in the past are finding better results with these new incubators..so I have hope for us. He said he believes that my embryo's might just do better inside of me than a machine but it took us 5 years to get our son and I cant wait that long again.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone

Okay...so, I am new to IVF here. I've had plenty of IUI's and have that whole process down by now, but IVF is confusing me, so I thought maybe you all could help.

My main question is...being that it is the beginning of June now...why would you all be waiting until September to try? Is the process that long?

My partner and I are wanting to try IVF and have talked about it with the RE that agrees that we should give it a try. Being that we are going the IVF route now, we decided to use her eggs, but I will carry. So, she has just gotten done with her Clomid challenge which went well. But, now we are waiting to find out what step is next and how quick we can get this thing going.

Being that we are both apart of the process we have to have our periods on the same cycle, so the RE wants to do a one month trial on our meds to make sure we are in sink and then the next month try. I was thinking that it should put us actually trying in july or august the latest...but since you all are waiting till sept...am I missing a step? Is it going to take a lot longer?

Thanks for any help
Merry
