Hello and thanks for the welcomes Vallthegal and Wannabeamomma!
Wannabeamomma - I am taking 1 vial of Menopur that I mix and inject and then 300 IU of Follistim with the injection pen. I am going in Sunday AM to find out my levels and further injection information. There is just so much - sometimes I feel overwhelmed. I don't even know what questions to ask when I'm at the doctor's office! Just trying to take it one step at a time. |

Hello everyone! I have been MIA for a few days. I just started a new position at my work and it's been crazy!!
Val - I am so sorry. I was in the same position on my first IVF cycle. I know how you feel. I did some research and began using essential oils, specifically Clary Sage...I read that it helps increase estrogen levels. I also started to drink lots of fresh fruit juice (I used a juicer) and Soy milk. I am not sure if it was the reason my estrogen levels started to increase but I'm sure it helped. I am for you.Hi Kmp - I am so glad I am done with the BCP. I was on BCP for over two months last time and on Lupron 10 days prior to my stims. I am hoping by not being on BCP's and Lupron for so long that I am a better responder this round than I was last time. How are your stims going? I can't wait to start mine. Keep us posted on your E2 levels. Hope everyone else is doing well and your E2 levels are increasing. I know the feeling of waiting for that call from the RE with your blood results. Have a great night ![]()

I know what you mean about being overwhelmed. So now its so good that you found us !!!! I too, forget to ask the dr and nurse things and then I call them and bombard them on the phone with questions. They must think I am a nut case - but I don't care. This is my life, my dream and I want it to come true. I go in on Sunday too. for some nice follie growth and rising E2 numbers !!

I've been gone a few days too and trying to catch up. Sounds like everyone is plugging along. I, on the other hand, am still here just waiting...and waiting for AF. Why does she have to show her ugly face right on time every other month and when I actually want her she has to take her own sweet time. I feel like she's going to come any minute but she doesn't. Hopefully this doesn't affect anything. So I called my RE's office yesterday because they said to call if she didn't show by 14 days after starting the Lupron and today is 14 days. I am scheduled to go in for an ultrasound on Monday and hopefully will get the show on the road. I'm just ready to get things moving.

Honey - At my first IVF in May, at ET I had 2 mature eggs, 1 immature. My ER was hoping for at least 4 mature eggs. 1 mature egg fertilized and made it to 6 day blast, 1 mature egg failed to fertilize, the immature egg matured and fertilized but did not make it to 5 day blast. So, I had one great embryo. That embryo partially implanted then who knows what. My ER had given me the option of freezing it and getting more embryos. I was too excited to think rationally. In retrospect, obviously, I wish I'd done that. It is a numbers game. I guess I just felt like I would have a miracle. For now, let's
for multiple healthy embryos for you!! I choose to believe that all of your eggs will mature, fertilize and grow into perfectly healthy embryos.Because I have 12 follies at day 6 (not day 5, sorry Val, miscalculated), ER lowered by Gonal-F from 300 to 225 [fyi last cycle I was at 225 and then lowered to 150]. I have another U/S and bloodwork Monday. for many good-sized follies.Val - before ET (not ER) you have to drink like a gallon of water so your bladder is completely full. Not the most comfortable thing. the good thing is, during transfer, instead of incessantly worrying about the embryo, you just can't wait to pee! ![]() |
|

Val - Glad I could cheer you up! The full bladder is for ET - my RE does an abdominal u/s during ET to help guide the catheter to the right place in the uterus. Some RE's do vaginal u/s, which doesn't require a full bladder, but most do an abdominal u/s. Not sure what your RE does...
Honey - thinking of you... ![]() ![]() Sunflower! Happy to have you along for this crazy ride! I know what you mean with the questions...I think I call my RE's nurse at least every other day with a list of questions. Take a look at our calendar (the link in my signature next to "IVF#2"), and add your dates in if you like. It's a good way to keep up with everyone's appointments/results.Holly - Not sure what your E2 level means...but I'm sure if they still have you on the same schedule, then things must be going well. Hang in there! Cologirl - so glad to hear from you! I was thinking about you this morning and almost PM'd you to make sure everything was OK. Sounds like it's going well...Congrats on the new job! mrembo - on starting stims!maybelina - that's awesome! So glad you are starting stims soon!! mom43 - great report on your u/s! Looks like you are right on track. AFM - DH and I went out to dinner last night and I took my meds with me in an insulated bag with ice packs. Had to take my shots in the restaurant bathroom, which was kind of weird. Luckily, no one else came in. But it went fine. Plus, I finally had a good night's sleep last night. Can't wait until my day 4 checkup on Tues! Hope everyone is having a good weekend ![]()

I know, I couldn't believe how anxious I was that I hadn't got it. I'm just so paranoid that something is going to come up to mess things up. It was a relief when she finally showed.

Slow day at work...just sitting here thinking about how neat it has been being in this group...not to be a dork...but I was never part of a message board before, and I am glad a friend suggested finding a "support group" for this process!! It is really nice "talking" with others who are going through this, instead of just explaining what I am doing to friends/family...because we are way too open to be keeping this to ourselves...that and my mom, normally a safe secret keeper, is so excited that she is detailing personal procedures (such as my hubs' sperm aspiration) to my 76 year old grandmother!! (and ANYONE else who will listen!) Anyway, just wanted to post something...and nothing is really new...other than the fact that I am stressing out a little over starting my stims tomorrow. I had too much time to read about ovary hyperstimulation syndrome on the internet today!!
Honey--hope everything is going well...
