Patilla - Congrats on getting through the stim shots! Funny how you don't understand your RE. Just so you know, I don't thing any of us really do. The language barrier just isn't as obvious for the rest of us.

AFM - Had my 9 day U/S today. 12 follies from less than 10 to 14. RE is reducing my Gonal-F again, from 225 to 150. I asked the nurse if she was sure that was right, since I didn't want the same thing to happen this time as in my 1st IVF (not enough eggs). She asked me if I was a reproductive endocrinologist and if not, I should leave the "magic" to him. She was trying to be funny, but frankly, the "magic" failed last time, so . . . Whatever. Just gonna trust and stay positive.

Hey all,
So I'm mildly concerned about my day 10 u/s (Day 4 of stims)...The right ovary is looking good, with 5 follies < 10mm. The left ovary, however, has 4 follies: 1x13mm, 1x11mm, and 2 <10mm. I think the follies on the left side are growing too fast...aren't they all supposed to be < 10mm at this point? Also, I'm thinking I will probably get less eggs this time than last (last time was 9 eggs). All I need is one, though...although 2 would be nice. I won't get my E2 until the end of the day, since I have meetings all afternoon.

Honey - on your perfect embaby!! Are you going to do a 3dt today? I'm sure you'll have luck on your side, especially with your GC's good uterus! for you. Please let us know how everything goes once you're feeling up to posting.

Mom43 - our results sound similar...I wonder if RE is going to reduce my dose as well. I want to be able to do at least 8 days of stims.

Holly - I know what you mean with the out of town guests...I have had to pack my meds in a cooler and keep them in the bedroom when we have people over for dinner. I even asked DH once if we could just keep a fridge upstairs! He put the kibosh on that idea though. Congrats on the great follie count and getting closer to ER!!

Mabelina - the waiting is awful...by far the hardest part. But you will get there...the end result will all be worth it

KMP - I don't really know where things should be at what stage. But 9 follies sound great !! that they continue to grow at a good healthy rate and you have great QUALITY eggies !!

Mom - don't you love when these nurses try to be funny and they are so NOT funny. Remember you are your strongest and best advocate. Keep speaking up. Its your body and its your dream !!

Colo - yeah on starting stims.

Mabelina - I know how you feel about the waiting - but I agree - you will get there and it will all be so worth it.

AFM -just got to work after my US and BW and pre-op appt.
I now have 18 follies !!! Many are still small - the largest is at 11mm and my lining has gone up to 7. I will have my E2 results this afternoon.
Then I had my pre-op appt for the ER and ET. They just asked a bunch of questions about my medical history - they already have all this in the file - but I guess they are being thorough and then went over the HCG shot and the plans for ER and ET. THen they spoke to DH about the IM shots. I think they are going to put a mark on my bottom so he knows exactly where to do it. God Bless him - he is so nervous. I know he will do great !!

So, as soon as I have my E2 # I will be sure to post it.

I am just about 1/2 way there. SO EXCITED !!!

OK, so here's my follie report...
6 follicles: Right - 10 and 14; Left - 10, 2x11.5, 13.
E2=639, lining=11 (wowsers! must be the acupuncture)
I'm going to be dropping my Gonal-f dose down to 150 tonight and tomorrow, and I go back in for u/s and bw on Thursday morning.

I asked the nurse if I was progressing too fast, and she said no, that everything looks fine. I am really worried about the large size of my follicles, having so few of them, and my higher-than-expected E2 (although I guess it's not high for 6 follies). If I only do 7 days of stims, is that a bad thing? I've heard that if you are on 8-12 days of stims that's good because the eggs have had a good amount of time to develop. I am going to drive myself crazy today thinking about this. At least my call came in before all my meetings this afternoon. But now it's going to cloud my focus for these meetings...

6 follies...at this point last round I had 16...

Ugh...(big sigh)...stay calm calm calm...

Congrats KMP on a great report !!

AFM, I just got my E2 # and its up to 192. I am keeping on the same protocol...150 menopur/150 follistim/5 lupron and go back in on Thursday for another US and E2 check.

I guess I was thinking the number would be higher - but I know that of the 18 they saw today - many are still pretty small.

The most important thing is that there is growth and that my E2 keeps rising.

So, I will keep trucking along and stop comparing myself to others - as we are ALL different.

KMP - good news on your follies

Wannabe- your so right on trying to compare yourself to others. Nice to hear that your E2 levels are rising and that your follies are growing

I had my day 4US and I have 7 follies on my left and 8 on my right. They're still small measuring around 8mm. My RE reduced my Follistim to 75u & lupron is still at 5u. I add repronex 75u tonight. My lining is 6. I was somewhat concerned that I had too many follies so soon but that's probably why my follistim was reduced. I go back tomorrow for more B/W & US. Oh well, I'll not stress myself over it.

KMP - We really are on the same path. Right side - 13, 13, 11, 11, and 4 under 10. Left side - 14, 10, 8, and 9. My Esrogen was 1400. Supposedly that's why they reduced the Gonal F from 225 to 150, so the smaller ones could catch up. I have another U/S tomorrow. If all of your follies are between 10 adn 14, that sounds good to me. Sounds like you have 6 follies that are all in the game. This IS going to work this time and in a week or so you are going to be . We both are.

I am going in at 8AM Wednesday for my second ultrasound after 6 days of injections. If he doesn't give me some info, I am going to start asking questions. I trust him, but I want to know exactly what is going on and if I am progressing as I should be. He did have me order 2 more boxes of Follistim - I don't know if he is going to up my dose or just keep me on it longer. I plan to find out!

Hi everyone

This morning we transferred one great looking 8 cell embie into my GC. Now we are all just praying that it sticks!

The embryologist came out before the transfer and gave me a picture of the embie, it is now sitting on our fridge.

We do our first blood test on 7/3 and our second one on 7/6.

MARIBETH - I am with you on the waiting. I was a bit freaked out to start my stims, but really happy to start them as well, because it meant I was on my way. Now I am in that dreaded almost 2 week wait period.

WANNABE and KMP - congrats on all those follies! You ladies are rocking the house.

Hello Ladies!

Kmp-Hang in there! I overheard the RE comforting another woman in the who was on her 2nd IVF. He said it's human nature to compare the 1st one to 2nd one, but to try not to because each cycle is different. But, I know I would be doing the same thing.

Day 8 us/bw went well. I have 11 follies: (my RE measures in cm) Right: 1.8, 1.5, 1.4, 1.3, 1.4, 1.1 Left: 1.6, 1.3, 1.3, 1.5, 1.6 Endometrium: 12.5 E2: 950.

They are happy and keeping me at 225 Gonal F. I have another us/bw tomorrow am.

It's interesting to read what other RE's consider "good" or "bad". Mine said they want the biggest follie to be around 2.2 with the smaller ones around 1.4 or greater. Also, they want the E2 to be between 1,000-2,000. Keep in mind, this is just the preference of my RE. Maybe I'm a sucker for what they are telling me, but they say I'm right where I need to be. I'm getting VERY excited! (but, trying not to get too excited).

Mom43 - I feel exactly the same. My trousers have been progressively tighter daily. Hoping once I have the ER it will decrease, just for a bit until I get my BFP!!
