Hi All!
About the bloating - I haven't have any, but have been crampy and tired. Anyone else feeling the same way? I went in this AM for my second ultrasound and info. The doc says I am doing better and he thinks I will have 8-10 retrieved next week rather than the 20 he was hoping for. He said there was one big one and took some measurements. He doesn't give me specifics, just basics of what's going on and his expectations. I go back Saturday morning for the 3rd ultrasound and I'm hoping to continue to improve. He also feels postive that he will be able to get the sperm from my husband based on the bloodwork. My husband is so nervous about the aspiration. He cringes everytime he even thinks about it. Thinking of you all as we make this journey together. Take care of yourselves and think postive thoughts! ![]() |

Thanks for the support and kind words everyone. I am not going to stress about my follicle count and hope that there's good progression on tomorrow's ultrasound. At this rate, I could have my ER on my birthday!
Wannabe and mrembo - you both have great follie reports! Looks like a lot of us might have ER on the same day! mom43 - It really does look like we have similar cycles right now...thank you for being so positive and bringing a smile to my face My pants are a bit tighter and I'm feeling bloated (I can even feel my follicles growing sometimes), but I got on the scale this morning and I was 1/2 pound lighter than normal . These drugs are doing such weird things to my body... Last cycle, I definitely looked around 4 months pregnant. It also took forever for the bloating to go down. One of the girls in my last IVF thread got asked when she was due at the grocery store during her 2ww...I don't think I could handle that!Sunflower - Good luck on your u/s today! I hope you get all of your questions answered. Honey - that is such fantastic news!! I want this for you so badly. I just know it will work...that embie is a fighter and it'll stick. I hope you are feeling well and relaxing. Feel free to drop in during your 2ww and let us know how you're doing! Holly - Thank you for the advice. DH said the same thing yesterday about not comparing this cycle to the last one. It is really hard not to though. I'm over the quantity part...I'm just really praying that my 6 follicles are holding top quality eggs now! Congrats on the good follie report! Your E2 looks very good, and right where it needs to be. You are right about differences with every RE...mine likes to have a majority of the follicles between 17-22mm and E2 that doubles every 48 hrs, but doesn't go over 3000. Last time my E2 shot through the roof so I'm hoping it's not the same case this time. mak27 - good to hear from you again!! Good luck tomorrow! I hope everything goes smoothly and you get some great eggs. Please let us know how everything goes.AFM - not much new to report. My acupuncturist and I talked for a while last night about Chinese medicinal herbs to improve egg quality/quantity and also to help with my PCOS hormonal imbalances. I think it's too late for me to take anything at this point in my cycle, but perhaps if this doesn't work, I'll look into it more. Question: has anyone started the protein/pineapple/grape juice regimen yet? |

KMP - What's this you are talking about?

A protein rich diet is recommended after ER/ET to reduce the risk of OHSS (ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome). My clinic said to try and eat more protein after ER and through the 2ww. Some people eat more protein during stims also.
The pineapple and grape juice is supposed to make your uterine lining stickier. So a lot of people start eating/drinking them right around ER time. This one I got from the other women on these boards, though...the clinic didn't say anything about them. Hope that helps! |

I've never heard about the pinapple/grape juice! I've tried everything else... thanks for the new idea!
I just had my ER yesterday, I'm up for anything/everything!

KMP - I will make a deal with you. I promise not to stress over my e2 # and you wont stress over your follie count - DEAL ??? BC we are both doing great - and all this doubt can only hurt us - not help us. Right ??
But I too am nervous for tomorrows appt. It would be great if you, me and Mrembo all have our ER on the same day. Sunflower - so happy you had a great appt today. You are so right about the positive thinking. I keep reminding myself to do it. I know your DH will be a champ on ER day. Our men always come thru when we need them to, right ?? As far as the protein/pineapple/grape juice....the only thing my RE suggested was a higher protein diet at time of ER/ET but said it would be smart to get into the habit while stimming. So even today I packed a high protein day of food to bring to work. Hard boiled egg whites, turkey breast sandwich for lunch, almonds for a snack....and dinner has always been a balanced meal of protein, carbs and veggies. But what about the pineapple/grape juice - does it work? My DH is concerned they may be too acidic and cause me stomach upset - as I am already so bloated and also gassy (Sorry TMI)

Last time, I did the pineapple/grape juice thing in moderation...I actually don't care much for grape juice, so I didn't even have much of it. But I love pineapple, so I tended to eat more of that. Definitely don't force yourself to eat/drink too much of either, though. I haven't seen any guidelines on how much to have per day, so I just ate the amount I felt like eating...some days less or more or none at all. I guess maybe start out slow and see how it goes.
Wannabe - it's a deal! Can you point me to the MP3s you're using for meditation music? I think it might help me fall asleep at night, as I've been having trouble with that lately. I know, the ultrasounds are nerve-wracking...I get even more nervous when the phone rings and it's the RE's office. You're lucky to be able to call in and get your results...I have to wait for someone to call me. I've also been trying to stock up on protein a bit more since last cycle and cut carbs...and I've lost like 5 lbs! There is an upside to all of this! |

I am definately bloated.
Had my ER yesterday, though the dr is not sure if it's best to freeze everything, or maybe, just maybe, be able to transfer one. We get the numbers back today . They retrieved 23 yesterday and are waiting for the icsi results. u/s scheduled for Friday which will tell all. If all looks good, the ET will be on Sunday. Always waiting.... WAITING SUCKS!
