Hi everyone -

Yes, this is my 1st IVF cycle.

Just took my 1st lupron shot about an hour ago. All went well, but the injection site was and is still a bit red. But all in all I feel fine.

Everything for us is out of pocket - but I am thrilled we were accepted in the Shared Risk Program - so we get up to 6 tries (3 fresh, 3 FET). The whole thing, plus the meds is pretty pricey - HELLO DEBT - so acupuncture is out. I did download the mediation mp3's that were recommended on the June Board so I hope to start using those as times get more stressful.

Looking forward to moving forward with you all

Hi Trish, welcome to our group! Yes, we're definitely on similar schedules. It's always nice to have cycle buddies. I haven't tried acupuncture in general (even for non-fertility stuff), so I figure it can't hurt. I understand the expense, though...we were doing our IUIs with a different insurance and it pretty much only covered the cost of meds. I can't imagine how much in debt we'd be if we had to cover IVF on our own. Acupuncture probably wouldn't be an option then.
I'm truly that you find success this time!

Caryn - the shared risk program sounds great! Congrats on getting accepted... And for starting Lupron...you are on your way!

AFM - not much news. We told DH's immediate family about all this last week, and this week, FIL called him and asked if there was anything they could do (very sweet of him). So today when DH and I were discussing acupuncture, DH said "we can just send the bill to my dad!" (joking, of course). Also, I found out that DH's cousin also did IF treatments, and she had a baby girl in January. Not sure what she did, but at least I know she was successful!

All right, time to sign off for the night.

Welcome Mak27! Yes, as I'm sure you've seen, everyone's got a slightly different protocol, whether it's the shots we're taking or the dates we go in for procedures. My dates for ER/ET are estimated based on my last IVF (I did 8 days of stims last time). I'm going to RSC in Lexington, though I've heard great things about MGH. RSC is a lot closer to home, and I'm pretty content with my RE there. I live in Tewksbury, so we're not that far away from each other!

Trish and mak27. Our group is growing. I've heard so many good things about accupuncture and i'm also going to try it.

wow! our group is growing . I know, I can't believe I am only doing 1 day of Lupron and then start right into my stims. Since I just did my last IVF a month ago, the doctor said I dont need to do 10 full days again so that's good news for me.

The nurse at my RE's office had a heart to heart with me the other day. She informed me about all the things in our life that cause stress and what my plan was to help with my stress levels. She also said to stay away from prefumes, cleaning products and when you're filling up your car, make sure to stay away from the fumes. All of these day to day things can cause issues during IVF. Just thought I'd throw that out there for everyone. She also said to not use any type of air freshners or plug ins.

I'm so glad we have so many of you joining...I hope we all get our .

Good morning! I hope everyone's doing well. Tonight will be my first Lupron shot for this cycle...I'm so anxious to get started already!

Ambyr - thanks for the tip!

So yesterday, I had a weird thing happen. I got on the treadmill, did my 3-min walking warmup, but after a few minutes of running, my entire pelvic area (bladder, uterus, you name it) started throbbing with pain every time I put a foot down. I stopped running pretty quickly and took a 5 min break and felt fine afterwards. But I've never had that happen...so strange. I guess I will stick to walking for a while.

In my last IVF thread, one of the girls started a calendar so we could keep track of each other's u/s, ER, ET, etc dates. Is that something you guys would be interested in doing? I've kind of already set something up: junjul_ivf: June 2009
I put in my Lupron start date as an example. To enter an event, just click on the date, click Create, and enter the event under Calendar text. To change the color of your background/text, click on the Color Select button and choose a background and text color.

Hope everyone has a good Friday

Good luck with your 1st Lupron shot tonight. I am sure all will be fine.
I have done 2 so far and I feel ok. Both nights had a hard time sleeping and today I want to kill everyone in my office, as I am feeling very moody right now. But otherwise- its not bad. I would do a million shots in my belly - they are really a piece of cake for me.

I tried to access your calendar...great idea - but it didn't open for me

Kmp0430- Thanks for doing the Calendar. Great idea!

mrembo -I know exactly that feeling of wanting to get started. I can't wait to start either.

wannabeamomma - Hope your shots continue to go well. I am not looking forward to being moody and having hot flashes either, but it's worth it

My RE wants me to give my gonal-f shots in my deltoid and then my menopur in my leg. I hate it cause I get so bruised especially because of the baby aspirin...oh well. The stuff we women do.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend
