Mrembo - 6 fertilized! Don't think about "next time." There isn't going to be a next time for you. This is it! (happy embryos) [Seems like a lot when you see your embryos like that, doesn't it?]

Wannabe - Congrats on your 10 eggs! Take it easy today. I did too much yesterday and had horrible cramps at night (they're much less today). So, really, don't lift aything and sit around a lot.

KMP - Let us know how your transfer went!

AFM, ER called and said I have 8 normally growing embryos and 3 eggs which may yet fertilize (I guess they're maturig in the lab). I will do PGD on the embryos Friday if there are still more than 4 good embryos. My transfer will be on Sunday or Monday.

Back from ET (finally!)

Ahhh, what an adventure ET always is! This time it was a good one though. So I emptied my bladder and started drinking again at 11:20. My bladder was maxed out by 11:45! The nurse was like "Boy, you weren't kidding, water just goes right through you!" So I emptied little by little (I'm used to stopping myself mid-stream now). Then the nurse came and got me and we went to the transfer room. Of course, then I had to empty my bladder more because my RE wasn't going to show for another 5 minutes. Finally, she got there, but they didn't have the right speculum, so I emptied a bit again while they went and found it. Finally for real, I got back up on the table, and RE put the speculum in and got the catheter in WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS!!! How excited was I?! Of course, at this point I'm focusing on not peeing on the table. But then they showed me my embryos. We transferred 2: an 8AG and a 7AF. However, the 7AF was already starting to compact a little, so that's a good sign. The nurse actually did an "ooh ahh" over my 8AG because it looked so perfect. Then the monitor shows the embryologist loading the embies into a catheter that'll get inserted into the catheter that's already in my uterus. I didn't watch the rest of the procedure because I was trying to be calm. But DH said that RE was much more careful with the placement of the embies this time. And then it was all done! Oh, also 2 of my other embryos stopped growing, and one started fragmenting majorly. So I won't have any frosties this cycle

OK, here comes the embarrassing TMI part...So you know how you're supposed to lay down for 10-15 minutes after the transfer? I told the nurse that I didn't think my bladder could last another 10 minutes on that table. So, nice lady, she got a bedpan for me to pee in. I felt so bad, but soooo good

Afterwards, I headed downstairs to bloodwork because RE wanted to get my P4 so she could tell me whether or not to reduce my PIO shot amount. So I get there, and there's another girl there doing a Clomid/Trigger IUI. Since the phlebotomist was like "you just had your transfer, right?" the girl asked me if this was my first try with the clinic. Poor thing, I had to tell her I had had 3 failed IUIs and this was my 2nd IVF. She got very wide-eyed, so I tried to calm her down and say that Clomid didn't work for me, but it works for lots of women. I don't know if she got any calmer though. Then the phlebotomist said "You'd better not cheat at home before we see you back here in 12 days!!" She was sweet.

And then I fell asleep at acupuncture. Now I'm going to eat and sleep some more!

Wannabe - 10 is a fantastic number!! Congrats!

Mrembo - You have a good fert rate...try to relax and hope for the best. I'll be hoping and for you!

Mom43 - You are so awesome and inspirational. Thanks so much for the pep talk!! Hope you're doing well and resting.

Stillwaiting - Thank you so much! I hope you are doing well.

KMP - So, like a dork, I keep checking the forum every 20 minutes (or 10, but that would be embarrassing) to see if you posted your results. You are hysterical. So you have two great looking embies in you. Sooooooo happy!! Those are your twins! Too funny about the peeing. And now you're on your 2WW. What are your plans? What do you do/ not do (eating, exercise? acupuncture, etc) [And did you do an hpt last time? shhh]. Can't wait to join you Sunday or Monday. You'll almost be halfway through by then.

Stillwaiting - How are you holding up? I'm so glad you're staying with us!

Mom43 - I know, the whole experience is actually somewhat comical. If nothing else, at least I made both of us laugh! I don't want to quite tell myself that I'm PUPO... I'm like a superstitious baseball player and afraid of jinxing it.

My 2ww plans are to relax relax and relax. DH gave me strict orders not to do anything today. Tomorrow we leave for NH, and come back Sunday. Otherwise, I think for exercise I'm just going to walk on the treadmill (or outside if this rain every stops). Definitely not running. I'm also thinking of breaking out this sewing machine my mom got me for Christmas last year. At least it's something to do. I don't think I've sewed anything since 8th grade home-ec class! So I'll need some practice. My friend suggested I start with something easy like pillows. I go for 1 more acupuncture session next Tuesday. I'm dying to ask my acupuncturist if she can tell someone's pregnant by their pulse. Some of them claim they can.

As for POAS, I am going to try and hold off as long as possible. I broke down last time because I started getting AF and I was so nervous/scared. It did prepare me for the BFN I got at beta, though. My beta will be on 7/13, and DH promised he will work from home that day. That's good news...last time he was in NYC and I think the BFN just devastated him.

It's so crazy to think that Sun/Mon I'll be almost halfway there! I'm just hoping to take it easy and not be so obsessive about all the twinges in my lower abdomen (easier said than done though).

I hope you get your fert report soon!

Sorry, you did get your fert report already...oops! Well, I hope you are taking it easy then.

Everyone's reports sound great!! It is really the exciting/stressful time now. I agree, Mom43, anyone who has any suggestions for getting through the 2ww should post them ASAP!! I personally requested to remain under sedation for the 2ww, just a light coma, really...but my RE didn't think so. Well, I tried!

My trigger shot was last night, and that went well. Really didn't feel it after the frozen peas to the butt. We didn't have to trigger in the back of the van after all...I was relieved, but a little disappointed, because that would have made a better story for my book!!

ER tomorrow BRIGHT AND EARLY at 8:00, but we have to be there at 7:30, and so leave at 6. My estrogen levels were somewhat disappointing up through Monday, but have basically doubled since then...and my follies are looking good. My nurse actually told me today that she had been somewhat nervous for me at the beginning of my cycle because I was not responding quickly...but I have made up for that in the second half!!

and as appropriate!

Kmp-great news on the transfer...I am glad you were able to wait for the bedpan!!

Sending everyone many many !

I'm holding up okay. We did get some good news from the embryologist. Though we only have 2 frozen embies, their quality is perfect! Two hatching blastocists. The only thing that frightens me, is we have a history of loosing half the embryos in the thaw. I'm just that one makes it!

2ww for most of you... hang in there!

Smile New To The Forum

SO glad I found this place!

We are in the end stages of our first IVF treatment. We did ER on 6/28.
-17 eggs retrieved
-14 were mature
-got 12 embryos

We find out tomorrow about transfer date (day 3 or 5), and enbryo grading. I am super excited!!! It's been a year long odyssey for us. 3 surgeries (laparascopy & hysteroscopy) for fibroids, endo, and pollups. GonalF + IUI = ectopic pregnancy = fallopian tube problems...... and now IVF.

I am 37, and super ready to be a mom. :-)
WE have an awesome 90lb rescue pup! Just ready for some 2-leggeds, also.

Sending happy thoughts & prayers to all of you on this journey!

kmp, I almost peed on my nurse too! I have to tell you this relaxing is getting old already. I almost bought a hpt today but realized I would not have the willpower if it was in my house. I am going to hold out until 7/10..my beta is scheduled for 7/12
mbro..yay 6 is a lot!!
still waiting..that's good news. how long do you have to wait to transfer them?
mom43, patilla and wannabe..good luck with transfers.. I'll be MIA for a few days on my vacation but will try an check in to see how all of these transfers go. Lots going on for this holiday weekend..

I think getting out of town for a weekend or even day trip is a good way to break up the 2ww.. I know its not that realistic for everyone, but however you can distract yourself..I am DYING for a change of scenery. and I'm not packing any HPTs.

Yea.. I have pcos, so I usually have a high number of follicles develop. My ovaries were HUGE after the retrieval! My re was considering putting one embryo back in up until the very end, but just couldn't do it. He said we were pretty much guaranteed to end up with OHSS if we got a bfp. As much as we wanted to do a fresh transfer, the risk of OHSS was just too great. So, instead, I just ended up with the huge belly and we wait until September to transfer. We were hoping for more eggs to fertilize, but this time we used a different protocol that just didn't work for us (Lupron before stims). We had 14 eggs fertilize, but only 2 continued to develop. But, the two look great! and we're very excited about that! Now, they just have to survive their thaw

Wishing everyone a very happy and 'sticky' Fourth of July!!!!!
