Mrembo - on your 6 embryos!! We may have ET together on Sunday. I find out tomorrow how my 8 embryos and 3 immature eggs (that were yet to be fertilized), are doing and, whether we will be doing PGD testing on them. If so, they get tested Friday, results on Sunday, and I have healthy embryos to be transferred either Sunday or Monday. What a trip this all is. Curious - Why did your ER decide on a 5-day transfer? This stuff so fascinates me.

I think each clinic has it's own standards but at mine, they like to see 6-8 celled embryos on day 3 which means the eggs are handling the petridish well. My 6 embabies happened to fall in this category so they wait till day 5 so that they can hopefully transfer either a morula or a blastocyst.
If the embryos are less than 6 celled on day 3 then they assume that they aren't handling the petridish well and might not make it to day 5 so then they do a 3 day transfer.... Hope that made sense

Sunflower, sounds like you and your DH have had quite a journey. I will be sending your way.

Wannabe, yea!!!! on your eggies. Good job!

AFM, ET went smoothly today other than being about to bust! I am now the carrier of 2 new beautiful blastocysts!
I guess my office doesn't like to get into specific numberes, I tried to get them to tell me the grade, the cell#, etc. They showed me a spreadsheet that had it all written down but basically at day 5 it is too many cells to count. ?? I saw there was an 8 and a 9 at the top of the list with "A" next to both. Those are the 2 we put back. That's good, right? The doctor and embryologist said they looked really good. I will call on Monday to see if there are any to freeze. They like to let them grow a little more before they freeze.

Funny story, I called both my mom and my MIL to give the news. I found out my MIL really had no clue what all the prodedures were even though we've been explaining. She thought we were growing follicle so there would be a safe place to put the eggs back in so they wouldn't move around. Bless her heart. I think I got her straightened out. I guess we learn this crazy language and assume that others understand what everything means. ha ha.

Can't wait to hear how everyone else is doing!!

Wow, there really is a lot going on!

Sunflower - on your 5 embies!! Your DH really is a trooper I hope he feels better soon. You try to rest up too!

Patilla - I hope your ER went well today

Holly - I hope everything went well with ET today! Hopefully you didn't need a bedpan.

Mom43 - No sewing just yet...I had to work 1/2 the day and the other half was spent doing laundry and packing for this weekend. Did I mention that our washing machine broke a few weeks ago? So we ordered a new one from Sears, but it came with a big dent on it, so they let us keep it as it is still functional, but they're going to replace it on Sunday.
We had to catch up on a ton of laundry...so not fun. Anyways, I had to run to the grocery store, and pick up 2 different prescriptions from 2 different places.

So my RE called with my bw results. She said my P4 is looking really good and I can lower my PIO dose to 1cc. However, she put me on Estrace (which is generic Estradiol). Is anyone else on it? She said it'll help my lining stay thick through the 2ww and I won't bleed through the progesterone again, and that's why I'm taking it. She said my E2 was 1365, but I have no idea what's normal for this point in my cycle. I looked up uses for Estrace, and all it said was that it helps ease menopausal symptoms. Nothing about uses for infertility. I already took my pill for today, so hopefully it'll do something to help my lining.

We leave in a few hours for NH! I'll (hopefully) be able to check in on the board from my phone, but it's really hard to post that way, so you may not hear from me until Sunday. Good luck to all the ERs/ETs over the weekend!

Honey - I just looked on the calendar and saw that you have your first Beta tomorrow!! Sending to both you and your GC!!

KMP,
I don't have any info for you. My progesterone Rx has been 1 cc and they are keeping it the same. I didn't have to give blood today so I can't help you there either.

Have a great trip to NH!!!

Mak27 and KMP--have great vacations. I hope you are truly able to "get away" from the stress!! KMP-my nurse from today is going to be in NH over the weekend as well!! Small world.

Lola-- I am in Lancaster, PA. Good luck with the embies/ET!!

Holly--

Wannabe-- HOORAY for 6 embies!

Sunflower- for the 5 fertilized!! My husband also had to go through the sperm aspiration, but was lucky to only have to have one tube aspirated and plenty shot out of there, so very low key procedure...also, he had his done back in May and they froze his sperm, so much less pressure today during the ER...I can imagine the added concern, so glad it all worked out!!

mrembo and mom 43--hopefully we will all be getting our embies transferred together on Sunday, unless I end up 5dt...which I think is fairly unusual in my RE's practice. I am planning for Sunday, anyway!

AFM--thanks everyone for thinking of me today. I had 11 eggs retrieved. Not sure yet if they were all mature or not, but 11 came out, which they were happy with, as I was having some lower estrogen levels and they did not anticipate that many. My RE did another mock transfer while I was sedated due to the issues we had initially. The end result was, he did once again get the catheter where it needed to be, but they are planning to sedate me for the transfer due to how difficult it was. Which is okay with me!!! My embabies will be introduced into a totally relaxed environment!! Hubbie did my first progesterone shot...it didn't hurt at the time, but is doing some serious stinging now, about an hour later!! Otherwise, just waiting for the fertilization report tomorrow!! This is really it...!!

My RE put me on estrace and progesterone as soon as they did the ER in preparation for the ET. Helps grow the lining... you're gonna be all cushy and comfy for the embies, yay!

to all!

Thanks

Just want to say it has given me great comfort to read through everyone's posts. Thank you. For most of this journey, I have felt completely on my own (with hubbie too.... but he has 'outside' parts, so he doesn't totally understand).

It seems like a lot of us on this board are having ET this weekend. Either Sat or Sunday? Super cool. It's my first IVF, so all of this is new to me (other than the assisted IUI in Feb, which resulted in an ectopic pregnancy).

Ok- I have to ask, but did anyone else here have lots of bloating and water weight gain thru these IVF meds? (Lupron & Gonal F)? I am super bloat-y, and none of my pants fit. In fact, since ER on Monday, my abdomen is really distended. (my estradiol was 3500, and we took 17 eggs)...

Anyhow- just curious if anyone else feels like a big water-cow?

Thanks for the inclusion on this board. to each of you... & .

Lola - hello Fellow Water Cow !! LOL !!!

Good Luck with your ET !!!

Holly - so glad u had a great ET - 2 blasts ! AWESOME !

KMP - How are you feeling?

Patilla - for a great fertilization report today !!

Sunflower - Congrats on your 5 embabies !!

Mrembo - so glad u embabies are doing well - Best of luck for your ET on Sunday

Mom43 - thinking good thoughts for your ET on Sunday too

AFM and my 6 embabies - just got my update from my RE nurse and we are def doing a 3 day transfer.

Out of my 6 embabies, 1 stopped developing. 1 is growing at a slower than normal rate, 3 are clustering well (thats what the nurse said) and 1 if far ahead of the others - practically perfect. It only takes ONE, right?

They dont give the grades until right before the ET...so I will know more details tomorrow.

We report at 9am. I did cry for my 1 embaby that failed to develop and that the remaining stay strong thru tomorrow.

Enjoy your day all !!

Wannabe: Here's extra for your embies to stay strong and develop well today. We'll be doing ET tomorrow together. I'll be sending lots of happy thoughts & your way.

Hang in there. Relax & enjoy today. Do something fun, outdoors, before you are on house arrest.
(that's what me nurse calls it).

I really agree with what Lola posted... this board is especially comforting.

For my 2nd IVF, and my 1st FET, that were my only BFPs ever... (both ended in miscarriage)... I developed this strange rash, it started on the back of my knees, and then spread to places like my upper thighs, arm pits, and back of my neck. Both times, the rash started developing the day before my beta.

Well, I still have until Monday for my beta... but last night around 6ish... the rash started on the back of my knees! Has anyone who has been through the process before ever had anything like this?? I actually got really excited, and couldn't help myself and POAS this morning... only to have a

I'm not upset... because I really truly feel like I am ... but I'm just curious if anyone else has had the rash, or known anyone who has?

Thanks in advance to anyone with input... and good luck to all the ladies getting ready for ET this weekend.

Wannabe - Good luck on ET tomorrow!! Multiple embies.

Lola - I definitely gained weight and had bloating on Lupron and Gonal-F. And after ER? Forget it. No wonder yours is so bad - 17 eggs! I read somewhere they fill the emptied follicles with saline - that could explain some bloat, and, think of the trauma to the ovaries. It's only because you're such a great producer so love the distention! Hope you're feeling better. Yay for your ET Saturday!

KMP - I too am on Estrace and Progesterone. All I (and DH) know is that Estrace makes me kindler and gentler, so I'll take it, you know what I mean? [May not help me argue in court (I'm a lawyer), but sure makes me a pleasure to be with].

Patilla - Yay on your 11 eggs! And the mock transfer. All system's a go.

Kellay - I guess a congratulations on your rash is in order.
on your Beta Monday and keep on itching!!!!

AFm - Still waiting to hear from my ER this morning re my embies. Will update.
