I only told a select few. Even the normal crew we usually see the most don't know. I personally am embarassed (I know that's stupid) and I also come from a very crazy family (as does my DH). I am so sure we'd get crazy tips on making babies...we already do. Classic line from my mother: If you just had a shot of whiskey before sex, you'd do fine! Thanks mom!

When DH and I were at the cafe this morning, planning our day, the ART nurse called. 2 of 6 of our embies passed the genetic testing, so ET was scheduled for 11 a.m. TODAY! The nurse asked if we wanted to know their sexes. How weird is that??? It's a boy and a girl. Our dream! Freaky! ET with the two embies went well and then the acupuncturist cancelled his golf game to open his office and treat me. Now I'm home in bed trying to absorb it all. for all of us on our 2WW.

KTS and Kitty - Thanks for your replies. It is hard to decide who to let in on this very personal part of our lives - which is one of the reasons I'm so glad I found this board and you ladies. You guys can understand everything since you are experiencing it too. Of course our families are very supportive and kind and the two friends that I shared with are there for me and love me, but there are others that know we were TTC to 2 years and were considering IVF, but I never really shared any details with them. I'm a teacher, so most of the teachers on my hall knew what we were planning for the summer. They don't pressure me with questions or anything. Some of them just recently messaged me and asked how things were going so I decided to message back to let them know we completed a transfer and are in the waiting window now. Part of me thinks that the more friends that know makes a bigger support circle for us, but still part of me doesn't want everyone to know our business even if they are our friends. It is strange and weird all at the same time. Oh well, thanks for listening and for understanding!

Kitty - Congrats on your 11 embryos!!
Mom43 - Congrats on ET today! They could tell the sex of the embryos?!?!?! Wow, that's amazing!

SuperDuper to everyone!!!!

Thanks!

Everyone around me knows what we're up to. I started telling friends/family little by little, but am glad we did. Everyone has been super supportive, even when they don't quite understand. I'll take all the extra prayers I can get! I did start a blog for extended family and friends. I update it semi-regularly with information I am comfortable letting everyone know. Just enough, not too much. I have complete control that way (I can still stay a little guarded).

Kellay & Colo - Greatest luck to both of you tomorrow!!

to all!

Wow took me a bit of time to catch up on this busy thread since we headed out to the country after the retrival. We did our retrival on the 24th (41 eggies) and 31 fertilized. 22 made it to the five day transfer on the 29th. We transfered 2 of the 5aa (top grade at our clinic) embies (we still have 15 left of that grade) and froze 20, 15 perfect and 5 at 5ab (very good quality, 5aa perfect). So we can make ourselves a baseball team if we want any...or I can sell them on ebay

Today we're finally back home in Alaska and at 6dpt we got a on a first response gold (it's a yes or no stick). I was supposed to wait til the 9th to do beta and not test but I'm not much of a conformist I texted my doc and said I was coming in for beta tomorrow wether she likes it or not LOL

Our chances at success went down considerably (60% from 82%) because my lining was only 6.7 (to 7.2 depending on who measured it). I elected to do the transfer anyhoo because the odds are so much better with fresh cycles, and I held off on the first PIO Shot for twelve hours. During that time I took five estrogen pills (supositories) and I guess it plumped me up liniing wise (ok all ways wise...my tummy was so bloated). But it apparently worked. I'm so glad I didn't let that doc talk me out of it. (She was filling in for mine who was out on an emergency). She was really pushing for me to freeze them all. I want to call and say neener neener but I'm too nice (so I'll just say it here LOL)

Wanna I'm SOOOO Excited you're right behind my dates. Let's see a beautiful BFP for the old board girls go wanna, go wanna, go wanna.....(and darling, test early, and often...I started at 3dpt LOL)

Igloo - WOW - what a story.
for your beta tomorrow !!

Thanks for your cheers and support. I am very excited and cautiously optomistic. I rub my belly all day, talk to my 2 little embabies and pray for our dream to come true.

Tomorrow or Tuesday I will find out about my remaining 4 and see if any are good for freezing. As of Saturday we had a 6cell-grade 2, a 4cell-grade 2, a 4cell-grade 4 and a 2cell-grade 4. I have my that the 6 cell will make it to blast and then to freeze. We will see what will be.

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!

Wow, I cannot believe how many great embryos made it to freeze time for you. Here is wishing a healthy pregnancy. Hopefully you started this ball rolling for everyone else.

I was wondering about Honey and Val last night. It should be getting close for them.

Igloochic - What fantastic news!! I'm so happy for you. I hope everything goes well for your beta today!

Sunflower - We actually just told my mom and dad yesterday that we're doing IVF. It was a hard conversation, and I'm still wondering if it was the right thing to do, but my weekend run-in with the ambulance sort of scared me into it. My parents aren't really forthcoming when it comes to emotional stuff, so I feel like I'm telling them more for their sake than for mine. Otherwise, my in-laws know since my SIL lives with us and either her or MIL has to give me my PIO shot while DH is traveling for work. Have also told 2 close friends. Oh, and my boss, who has been really great and supportive and lets me work from home when I need to.

Mak27 - Thank you for checking in! How was Block Island? I'm doing well today...no pain anymore, except for the normal minor cramps. My boobs started to ache like crazy yesterday...so I know the progesterone is doing its job. My Beta is on Monday 7/13 (in 1 week!)...I'm only a day behind you!

Kittykat - I can't believe your mother actually said that to you! Too funny what comes out of peoples' mouths sometimes.

Mom43 - That is so great! I know I would love to have a boy and a girl too. I already am secretly calling my embies Wall-E and Eva.

Hang in there everyone...we are so close!

Igloochic: Great news, congrats. Good luck on your Beta.

AFM so the clinic called today and none of our remaining 4 eggs made it to freeze. I totally lost it and cried like a baby. I feel as if the 2 embryos in me lost their siblings. My husband thinks I'm crazy for having bonded with my embabies. Do you ladies have any ideas on how to keep busy during the 2WW besides watching movies? I'm a SAHW and have too much free time to kill.

Hope everyone else is doing ok
