Okay...this may be asking TMI but has anyone had that warm moist feeling in their lower regions like they are going to start AF? I always get that feeling, and have had it since transfer? I actually wrote down every single symptom that I was having since ET so I could go back and look and see that it's not a new symptom, but one I've had for weeks...kind of makes me feel better. And every morning when I wake up I'm sweating like crazy (again...had this symptom since ET). I have those stomach type (gotta go potty #2) signs when I wake up in the morning for a few hours too, and again...that's normally an AF type symptom but I've had it off and on for the past few weeks.

Just trying to figure out what could be causing these symptoms. Is it progesterone? Or maybe the estrogen? I have an increase in CM, thankfully it's not brown anymore....but still it's almost like the week before AF. I go to the bathroom all day long to make sure it's still just white/clear and not spotting or anything.

This is agony.....I'm tempted to see if my SIL will do another scan on me at 6w....LOL, but again I'm trying to just leave it up to God and trust him for this.

Indieblue.... B R E A T H E !! Listen, I know you are stressing and I know how horribly stressful this period of the cycle is. BUT -- by trying to guess, and second-guess will not change the outcome. It doesnt really matter what the symptoms are (and there are tons of symptoms, but no guarantee it means anything -- good or bad)... you will just have to wait to see what happens.

Here's what I keep telling myself ... "Stress is guaranteed, suffering is an option" The stress will be there; you will make trips to the loo imagining AF is coming ... but whatever you can do to make the suffering less for yourself -- do it !!

Keep positive. You are PUPO ... and things are looking good (forget the lines on the HPT). Each cycle is different... so no need to feel like this will be like last time. Please take care of yourself... this IS a long journey... and you need to build resilience. After ur first U/S, you have to wait for the next, and then the next... and then a bunch of other tests... etc etc.

Hold strong, think happy thoughts.... you are on this incredible journey to motherhood (with all of us on the same ride) .... enjoy each day as it comes.

(sorry if my email's a bit preachy ... but after 2 IVFs, I have been thru this rollercoaster... and feel better equipped emotionally this time around)

Beta Update

My beta level came in at 185 (20dpo)... not increasing fast enough to turn into a healthy, viable pregnancy . So, I am to stop all meds and AF should show up in the next few days. There is also the possiblity that this is an ectopic pregnancy. They will continue to monitor my hcg level. So, basically no good news.

Dh and I have no idea where to go from here. I guess we will take a few days to mourn and then try to make a plan. Good luck to everyone and thanks for all the support!

Ok, ladies! I got an informal opinion from another RE and she said she would have kept me on meds and completed another beta to watch the levels as well as doing a sono to check the uterus. I don't know what to do. She suggested I disucss my concerns with my RE. I just don't know if I have the emotional energy to argue this with them. She said that low betas are often an indication of nonviable pregnancies, but the number is increasing by 66% which is considered adequate. I guess I will have to muster the strength to call my RE tomorrow. Any suggestions on how and what to ask?

Kelb,
Not sure what to say to the doc to not offend. But, this is too important to just let them dictate. What does it hurt to wait another week and do a beta and to do an ultrasound? Maybe that is the question to ask the doc. And if there is no immediate danger to you, then go for it.

That is the problem... how to question without offending or disrespecting his position. Dh sent an email to the ivf nurse to see if we could continue with progesterone and do a repeat beta in a couple of days. He has given her his number to call tomorrow as I just don't know if I am emotionally stable enough to handle this type of conversation (dh is less likely to burst out into tears and sniffle his way through it). We share the exact same opinion! If it is not going to be viable, what is the harm in continuing and retesting to see that the level does in fact drop. We just don't feel comfortable giving up when the levels are increasing! Wow, what a stressful day this turned out to be.

KelB, I completely agree! In fact, even with my negative beta of 1.6, my doctor wanted to keep me on all meds until they re-checked it today just to verify the negative. Today it was down and it was only then that they told me to stop meds. With a beta of 185 - it is doing what it is supposed to do and I don't see the harm in waiting just to be sure. Sometimes during this process you have to be your own advocate. I realize they are the experts, but when you get this close, go with your gut - don't throw in the towel until you really know what's going on in there! You are in my thoughts and prayers!

KelB- where do they want the number to be yesterday...if you double 58 is it 116 then double the 116 it is 232...you are not far off...I checked the Beta Base Info site and your doubling time is 57.37 which is in the 48-72 hour range...I would ask them to do another beta and stay on the meds....

They wanted my levels to be around 500. I also checked on beta base and saw what you did... of course that just confused me even more as to why they would stop! Dh is going to ask them that question when they call him back. As for now, I have put faith in God to work his miracles and prove them wrong! God is the giver of life, not man!! He can move mountains and this is my mountain. My SIL sent me the sweetest note and said if God can make a virgin pregnant he can make me pregnant!!

Waiting .... waiting.... waiting.... for beta

Had my bloodtest 2 hours ago... and waiting to hear back. They typically call around 1pm.... so still some hours to go. Met my friendly RE this morning... and he looked all happy and optimistic... I think I am much more guarded about my feelings this time around.

Hoping for good news.... On the way back from the clinic... bought another digital HPT... and got another positive... Keeping it here just to keep my spirits up till the confirmation.

Erin, Baby4gerbee.... any news from you both yet. Hope we all get s and BIG numbers!

me too... my fingers are cold, my stomach feels funny, my heart is beating faster... and im staring at my cell phone !! I wish they would give an exact time they would call... so we could relax (somewhat)... and then get all nervous around that time only.

Im pulling out the HPT and staring at it every 2 min... its like my security blanket. Just reminding myself ... I must stop obsessing... think I will go for a walk outside.... (with my cell phone!)

Best of luck....

KelB, I agree with the others. Don't give up until you feel that you should. Two or three more days of progesterone will not be bad. I would call the office and ask for another beta or go somewhere else. Don't give up. Stay positive as long as you can. for you.

Checking in

Hi Ladies,

First of all KelB, I'm praying for you. All the comments are right girl, do not let them take the opportunity away to go as far as nature and your body allow you to go because you can be a miracle and things can change so be strong and make them give ypou a chance. Don't stop the meds and ask for another beta. My next appointment is for 7/16 supposedly for a sono. Here comes the assistant and tells me that I need another beta on the 16 and that if I'm still pregnant, they'll do the sono or maybe the week after. Ummm no. I went in yesterday and said 2 weeks is too long I need to be seen sooner. I'm going for beta this thursday to make sure things are progressing then next week as scheduled for beta and sono. We sure do have to proactive because this situation is hard enough for us. I'm also going to see my ob this friday for an early sono. WHile I do understand it may be too early, I want to do it anyway. You can oush for your needs to be addressed. We are here to support you!!
